First and foremost, my therapist Joan is absolutely amazing. She is kind, professional, and truly talented at what she does. I will genuinely miss my sessions with her, and it's unfortunate that situations like this hurt therapists who are doing everything right. Due to a financial hardship following a car accident (which is also the reason I've been receiving massage therapy), I needed to reduce my membership. I was told I could place my account on a 3-month freeze and still use my accrued sessions by paying $20 instead of the regular $80. I agreed. Because it's so close to the holidays and money is tight, my card didn't go through when they attempted to charge me a second time in the same month. When I called to understand why, I was told the $20 charge on 12/14 applied to November, and now another $20 was being charged on 12/22 for December. While I can understand the explanation, it does not change the reality that I simply don't have extra funds available right now. I asked if I could cancel my membership and be reimbursed for the services I've already paid for. I was then told my account is on suspension and that nothing can be done until I pay the additional $20. So essentially, I'm being told that to access or recover services and funds I've already purchased, I must first pay more money toward an account I'm trying to cancel. To make matters worse, the manager was not in today. The front desk associate told me she would send an email explaining the situation and that the manager would call me tomorrow. How is it that there is not a manager readily available, the way there is at virtually any retail or service-based business -- especially when dealing with billing disputes and hardship situations like this? This entire experience has been absolutely ridiculous, inflexible, and incredibly frustrating. The lack of compassion and proper management completely overshadows the quality of the actual massage services. Experiences like this drive loyal clients away and unfairly impact the therapists who work so hard and genuinely care about their clients.

I went in for one massage and walked out an hour later feeling noticeably more comfortable. The following day, I was able to move around so much better. When I first saw her, I still had two drains in and felt very vulnerable, but she was incredibly professional, gentle, and reassuring. Her practice is clean, comfortable, and calming. She wore gloves to ensure my incisions were protected from any potential risk, which made me feel even more at ease. After that first session, I immediately booked the series of five. I went twice a week for two weeks, then once during the final week. After not seeing her for about a week and a half, I reached out again and invested in five more sessions. The massages are absolutely worth it. I feel more comfortable, less swollen, and I can truly see the progress in my body. I would highly recommend Melissa to anyone going through the post-op recovery process. She has been an incredibly important part of my healing.
