This may be an ok company if you are paying them directly but, whatever you do... do NOT sign the form they hand you that basically says "your insurance company will pay us directly, not you". If you do this, consider it a death sentence to your home. I had a small water leak in my kitchen. The plumber removed a portion of drywall to find the leak and we saw that we had a spot of mold about the size of a potato. I called my insurance company and filed a homeowners claim. Elements came out about a week later and said they'd get started the following week. The first thing they did, was have me sign this form I spoke about. I figured it was standard and that it was just part of the process. I was wrong. Once I signed, Elements told my insurance company is was a $10,000 job and that they needed to basically destroy a 10x10 foot area in my home... which they did. They did this, solely to scam money out of my insurance company. When they told me they were going to basically ruin my house, I of course told them "no". Then they told me that once a mold claim is opened on a home, that the home could not be sold unless the mold claim was officially certified / closed. Basically, this meant that I HAD to let them ruin my home, or else I wouldn't be able to sell my house in the future. This was a lie but, I didn't know any better at the time. Anyways, they thoroughly ruined my whole kitchen. Removed 2 walls, ripped up carpet, removed tile and busted my kitchen cabinets and ruined my counter tops. All this for a spot the size of my hand, that could have been fixed in about 5 minutes with some anti-microbial spray. 5 months later, my kitchen still isn't back in order. I had multiple contractors come out and none could match my existing cabinets or flooring. The worst part is that the Elements workers were so sloppy, that they damaged parts of my house that weren't even in the work area. The bumped equipment into my walls, they banged up my front door and they ruined my floors in multiple spots OUTSIDE OF THE WORK AREA. When I called them about it, they just ignored me (since my insurance company was paying them, I had no leverage and they didn't care how they treated me) So now I've spent thousands to fix my kitchen ... my cabinets no longer match, the guys at Elements broke my granite counter tops in multiple spots, and my floors need to be complete redone... all because Elements wanted a bigger check from my insurance company. Companies like this, are the reason the cost of insurance is so high. These people are professional scam artists. read more

Elements Disaster Recovery was hired by Security First Florida and not me. I can attest to the horrific service that I received. I was involved with the EF2 tornado that hit DeLand on 8/18/20. The insurance company told me that they were responding that night but Shelby said due to distance issues (?) they would be out in the morning. The tree on the house punctured the roof, it rained after the tornado so more water got through the hole. When they showed up the next morning, no tree removal company came so I had to hire one to remove the tree from the house. Brian stated he put his hand in the hole of the roof and claimed insulation was "damp". I noticed immediately the growing water marks on the living room ceiling of which Brian stated that it will dry. I replied wet drywall gets dense and the insulation R factor decreases if its wet, he told me the fans and dehumidifer would dry it properly. The next crew came out and I had to insist to cut the ceiling to release the water, I was told by workers they were not authorized to do that. Got Security First Florida on the phone and explained that there was water in the ceiling and after enough griping she authorized them to cut the ceiling to see. When water poured out I looked at them and told them to get all drywall down. They told me that they were not there to do this but after insistence on my part, it got done. Elements damaged property of mine that was not even damaged from the storm!!!! They tarped the roof so poorly that it had to be redone by someone who knew what they were doing!! I INSISTED that the wall had water damage as well and after persistent gripping, it got gone and low and behold, water in the wall. The comical ending is that they wanted me to sign a satisfaction of completion of which I refused to do so and also told my insurance adjuster I was a "MONSTER" to deal with. My response to that uncalled for response is that do your job and people won't complain!! 0 stars to this company and I wonder how many other people were victims of their services. read more

If I could give 10 stars I definitely would!! Brian was amazing! I was heading home from South FL when I got a call from a neighbor who said he had seen water running out from under my front door that morning! I immediately pulled over and called my insurance company. They sent out Brian from Elements. He showed up soon after I arrived home. Not only was my wood floors and carpet ruined but my ceiling as well. The neighbor above me had a leak under their kitchen sink and throughout the night all that water ran into my place! All of my ceilings need to be replaced or repaired as well as new flooring. What he did to get me dry was incredible... he drilled holes in the kitchen kick boards and had fans drying out under my sink, he drilled holes in my ceiling and had tubes blowing air up above my ceiling. He knew my concern for developing mold and did a great job of getting me thoroughly dried out. I have no concern for mold now. I had a LOT of questions! He was most patient to answer them all ... he made a nightmare experience not so bad! Thanks Brian!! :) read more

I cannot say enough good things about Elements. We called at around 8pm on a Sunday night and they were out within the hour. We were fortunate enough to deal with Brian, and he was incredibly helpful and generous with his time and equipment to help keep us dry through a very long issue with the roof of the house we are renting, resulting in our sunroom flooding multiple times. He went above and beyond to help us by checking on the house, even offering to help us tarp the roof when our landlords weren't going to and more rain was coming. We were lucky it was still standing, but had major water damage, mildew, mold, etc. I met Brian and immediately hired him and trusted him to do the right thing for the right price. we recently called on Elements Diaster Recovery when we had a leak in our washer. we came home to a flooded laundry room which had run into the main hallway and our son's bedroom. the team arrived shortly after my husband called and they started extracting the water right away. they checked for water damage in the walls and brought in some fans to dry everything up. some of the base boards had to be repaired as well, which they were able to do themselves without a second party contractor. overall this company was very professional and worked hard to get us back to normal! i would definitely recommend Elements to anyone who needs reliable and trustworthy service, especially when you need it fast! read more
