As I have previously discussed in my yelps, Southport's club scene leaves a lot to be desired, in my opinion. Most places are either too chavvy or full of thirty year old men on the prowl looking for sixteen year olds to leer at (or both).
Elementary doesn't really fall under either category at the moment but I can think of one big reason for its popularity - 49p drinks. Every Thursday night, Elementary offers vodka mixers for 49p (that's right, less than a pound). And it's not just those crappy pre-mixed jugs either; you see them making them in front of you with the measures. The vodka might not be the best, but do you really care at that price?
The music there is your usual commercial dance and R 'n' B (it is Southport after all) and it is usually full of a predominantly student crowd (across two floors, which helps because it's quite small) but it is definitely giving opposite neighbour Alpine a run for its money in the competition to be numero uno on West Street. read more
