I originally had another place in mind near the airport but the parking fee $25. x4 days which I saved by switching our hotel over here. Coming back late at night we had no problems with finding a parking spot, we were lucky to find a spot close to our room. Lets talk about the breakfast that I read great things about, it is true from the reviews, really Wow! staying here for 4 days, I was worried we would get sick of eating the same items but I can see they have different selections, I can see the staff working so hard, when preparing the daily complimentary breakfast & happy to see there is rice, furikake and miso soup! Reminds me of another Marriott when we stayed at Hillsboro, OR. Breakfast staff are so friendly, they greet you with a smile, I can feel the joy and love, while enjoying our breakast. 5 Stars! If you did not have a car this would be a very practical location. Our room was on the first floor with vaulted ceilings. Despite this, the walls are very thin. I am not sure if the people above us were playing hide and seek. But there was lots of running around and stomping as they walked. So if you're staying in the first floor be aware it can be loud. However, it was so crowded with people going through the drive-thru and people hanging out in the parking lot behind it. My daughter works night shift in the ICU at Stanford Hospital and commutes to work. She is pregnant and experiencing significant nausea and exhaustion, so she booked a room specifically from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. so she could safely sleep and rest between shifts. Her coworker, who is also pregnant and works alongside her, decided to share the room. When they arrived, they were told the hotel had overbooked and cancelled their reservation. They explained their situation and asked to speak with the manager. They were told it was not the manager's fault, and the manager refused to come out of her office to speak with them. The front desk employee was left trying to find another hotel for two exhausted, pregnant healthcare workers who were simply trying to get some sleep between ICU shifts. Thankfully, the housekeeping manager heard what was happening and went out of his way to help. He found the girls a room and asked them to be out by 4:30 p.m. However, the manager in the office initially refused to allow that. A third manager eventually stepped in and spoke with the first manager. After all of this, it was finally decided that the girls could stay until 4:00 p.m. , nearly six hours less than what they had originally reserved , and they would still be charged the full price. And then they got to their room and there was no electricity. At that point, the entire purpose of booking the room, getting some much-needed sleep between ICU shifts, was compromised yet again. I want to give credit to the front desk employee and housekeeping manager, who genuinely tried to help and showed compassion. Unfortunately, the way this situation was handled by management was extremely disappointing. Hotels make mistakes. How you handle those mistakes matters. Overbooking and cancelling a reservation is already unacceptable, but refusing to personally speak with guests, providing a room without electricity, cutting their reserved time by nearly six hours, and still charging them full price is simply not how guests should be treated. I would strongly encourage anyone looking for a hotel in the Milpitas/Silicon Valley area to consider other options before booking here. Based on this experience, we will not be returning.
