The color turned out great and they took off the length I asked for, but I'm really unhappy with how my curtain bangs were cut. They're uneven and way shorter than intended, and just not blended whatsoever. I really wish the stylist had been upfront if bangs weren't their strong suit. I would've much preferred honesty over having to live with a bad cut for months while it grows out. Posting this so future clients know to be very clear (or cautious) when it comes to bangs. read more

The good: price was ok and they didn't destroy my hair The not so good: I asked them to ensure no grey around my temples. They ignored that even though I incessantly repeated this. I asked for highlights and lowlights and though I was charged for both, it looked like my hair was one solid color. They toner/shampoo person kept saying they aim to please so say something if I didn't like it. I did say I didn't like how the grey was not addressed at the end and they brushed me off. Well you wouldn't do that before I went to yelp so that's just a lame excuse. All around terrible service and management. Don't bother coming here ever. This place may as well shut down. The manager is avoidant and a liar. I've been debating since last week when I got my haircut to complain but I just feel I have to, i am really disappointed with the quality of service I got. My hair is so choppy it barely looks like I got it cut, it's uneven. Just all around a bad job. I always get nervous at new salons for this reason. My friends told me to go back to get it fixed but I honestly don't even want to for fear of making it worse. On top of that it was $51 and not $39 like the site says, however I wouldn't have paid $1 for this had I known what it would look like. Apparently it was the higher price because the stylist was a higher level, but wow I wouldn't want to see what the cheaper cut looks like. Very unprofessional, I went to fix my hair and the stylist was unwelcoming and unfriendly, and kept looking at my hair and saying oh wow, then she goes talk to another stylist about me while she was with a costumer and both the costumer and the stylist turn and look at me laughing. Given that I have no experience with colors when it comes to dying my hair I told her that I wanted something very natural and not too light and from there on out I trusted her and in the end my hair came out BEAUTIFUL!! One of my favorite salons in the US, and I have been to a lot - from living in different areas and traveling. Alex is super sweet, friendly, patient, and great at hair. I have long hair that likes to tangle and she is gentle with my hair. All of the girls here are nice and fashionable, and I am consistently impressed with their work that I see posted online and when I am in the salon looking at other patrons. Every time I come in, the salon is very clean, spotless. I can tell cleanliness really matters to them. Also like the overall design of salon, colors, floors, etc All of the girls that work the front desk are very nice and do a great job. Thank you for always offering me a drink when I come in, and asking me about my experience that day. I love the chairs used while being styled and the washing bowels, both very comfortable, unlike other salons that choose the "trendy" choice of chairs over the actually good for your back-shoulders-neck choice. So nice being able to leave the salon looking good, feeling good and not with an aching body :) Also like that they have Redken AND Pureology products. This is the salon to go to if you live in Land O Lakes, Lutz, Wesley Chapel, Odessa, etc. I had tried a few other places near by before and Element 54 is heads and shoulders above the rest. I have been a faithful client for over 2 years, and today, I was made to feel as if I had done something wrong. I have a very busy schedule, and I took off of work early so that I could get my hair done. When I got to the salon, I was told that there was not enough time allotted for my highlights. When I made the appointment, I told them that I needed highlights, and when I got to the salon, they told me that I requested color instead of highlights. This was false, and they were not able to accommodate me. I am a very loyal customer, but when there is obvious disrespect and disregard for the time it takes for me to be away from work and I am basically called a liar, it is very disappointing.
