hi there! I just went to elegant nail salon a couple of hours ago and I have a couple things to say. I'd like to start off by saying that I mostly enjoyed my experience. The woman who shaped my nails did a very decent job and she did it fairly quickly. She also asked afterwards if I liked the shape and I did. I liked the fact that they had a younger girl to do the nail art. I'm guessing she was their daughter. She did a very good job on my nail art, and seeing as she was a perfectionist, she was not going to let me go home disappointed. The salon itself was alright. It was a little dusty, but other than that I liked it. In my honest opinion stores like this are best for simple gel manicures, and pedicures. Getting acrylic at places like this can be dangerous for your nails. So what I'm saying is do not go to these chop shops for acrylics. Go to someone who specializes in acrylics, and has good reviews and photos of what they offer and what they've done. When I was looking at nail salon reviews, I wanted a review structured the way I just put mine. With how my experience went and what I experienced. I wish I could give zero stars. I sat and waited patiently for about an hour for anyone to take me to a chair. When I do, the nail tech had someone with an appointment come in, so she puts me in another chair and says the other nail tech will get me and places my nails in the bowl of acetone to soak. I sit patiently for another 30 minutes waiting for this tech to finish her girl's nails, while my fingernails feel like they're going to fall off from the acetone. after she finished with that girl she gets up and gets ANOTHER girl and starts doing her nails. I would give this place a 1/5 only because the massage that comes with a mani/pedi was good. However, my manicure was the worst I have ever gotten. I got it to treat myself and left feeling even more stressed than I came in. They lady did not clean under my nails. Did not file them cleanly or evenly. She didn't even paint even coats or to my nail cuticle. Here is three days later Andrew polish they used is already chipping and separated! I know this is the only walk in nail salon in BG but drive the extra 10 to Perrysburg because this was no good. I could've done a better job myself. read more

scammers ... stay away from this place they make up thier own price added $25 exra when it doesnt say on their walls. i beem getting regular manicure and pedicure all the time for around $45-50 total and here they charged $78 with a bad nasty attitude.. telling i should ask how much before when its clearly saying $56 on thier wall No wonder they have low ratings and bad negative reviews read more

If i could rate lower I would. I have had to use this horribly ran salon. They are rude..disrespectful..and the last time I used them they charged me 75.00$ for a jel full-set with coffin shape. Do not go here. Worst salon I've ever been to. I stopped in for a walk-in pedicure.. the place was empty yet the man rushed me as if they were extremely packed. The longer I sat there, the worst it was.. very unclean, tools were not in fresh packaging, nail polish was left on my skin. The man started to place acrylics on another customer with the same gloves me had on for my pedicure. Very rude and felt as though I was inconveniencing them.. fastest pedicure I've ever had and was not enjoyable. I have been to this salon several times, because I've been happy with their work. I like to support a family business but the one thing that I can not get past is how incredibly rude the owner is. Today was the last straw; although my last few visits, the owner has had full-on meltdowns when I've requested how I'd like my nails filed and color selection. My last visit- I chose a color of polish but when I saw the color with the bottle opened, I asked if I could change my color. He started yelling at me then walked over, grabbed a blue polish off the shelf, slammed it on the table and yelled, "you want blue? Here's your blue!" Today when I asked him to file my nails straighter across, he immediately stood up and yelled, "I've already done that. There is nothing more I can do. You want straight? She's gonna have to do that!" (He said that pointing to his wife who also works there.) Both times, I called him out for being so rude and unprofessional. It is beyond me, how they stay in business I told them that I have tried to support their business but it is sad how they treat their clients. I will never go back again read more

ZERO STARS I went in to get my acrylics filled and the woman who did my nails ripped off all of my acrylics and mutilated me nails in a very painful way. I have been going to Elegant Nails for YEARS!! Peter and his family are very hard working individuals. When COVID19 came about, the salon took all the necessary precautions including Plexiglas barriers at all manicure and pedicure stations, social distancing, and sanitizer available to all customers. The salon is very clean and they do a WONDERFUL job with manicures and pedicures and are fairly priced. Due to COVID, be sure to call ahead of time to make an appointment, but you can usually get in the same day. They have a LOT of gel colors to choose from also!! An entire wall full!! read more

The owner of the salon did a HORRIBLE job on my nails. Had to continue to tell her again and again that I wanted my nails square and the way she was filing and when she stopped were not square. What a joke. This was about 4 weeks ago. I also got a pedicure and tipped the woman extra because she wasn't rude like the lady who did my nails. But I hav two severely ingrown toenails now from how short my toes were trimmed. This was the absolute worst salon experience I've ever had. I just moved to bowling green from toledo and I will make that drive every time now to avoid this NASTY salon read more

I have no idea how this place is still open considering how rude the older guy is. I walked in and he told me "walk over here and put your feet in the water." then proceeded to tell me he can't turn the water to warm for a pedicure because they don't have warm water at the nail salon. Then i picked out my color and he argued about the color I chose with me then the other work intervened. She then began to do my toes and magically turned the water I had my feet into warm. Oh no...To start, My nails are super uneven. I started fixing them and decided to write a review. This picture is what my index and middle finger also looked like on my left hand before I evened it out. Not only did they not ask me if I wanted gel, they charge me an extra $15 for it, they charge me for getting pointy nails which I would understand if they were actually long but they were not. Longer nails cost more I get that but my nails are normal length for even square or round nail extensions. What should've been maybe $80 for me and my sister to get our nails done with two colors, so $30 plus $10 for two colors times two people ended up costing me $150 for two people. Watch out they will tack on whatever they can. Also the nail filing was so aggressive two of my fingers bled. I think they value their return customers because they're constantly giving them money, but if you don't ever really go there, they're going to rush the process. read more

Well... I needed somewhere in BG.. and this was only place I could find at the last minute. The things I found unsettling were: Not very friendly staff, way that they sanitize the pedi bath is with soft soap and a towel and yes I did get to experience the old man yelling to both someone on the phone and to staff. I hope that the health dept checks on this place. My toes look fine but no 'thank you' for the tip I left. I'm lucky to have more nail salons closer to my house. Won't be back. read more

No. No and no. Don't have your nails done here! For a year I had my nails done there because I didn't know better. I thought all nail salons were the same. Now that I have found a quality nail salon, I can tell you NOT to have your nails done at Elegant nails.. 1. They are not friendly. This is a husband-wife team that do not speak English and you cannot understand a WORD they say while they are working on you. 2. The only kind of nails they know how to do is the nail tip method. They break and get brittle and the quality of the acrylic they use is cheap. 3. They use a dremel tool on your natural nails and this damages them. When I left them and went somewhere else, my new nail salon told me that no nail professional who knows what they are doing should damage your natural nail in that way. 4. They charge you a fee for using your debit/credit card. My nails were not done well and had I had to keep going back for repairs over and over again. I also had to bring my own nail polish with me because theirs is not good quality and their selection is also not varied. I have found a WONDERFUL nail salon and I wouldn't leave there for anything. I went in for a pedicure and it was very short and my feet felt like nothing was done. The lotion was very watery and not moisturizing. I regretfully got a full acrylic set after and had to have the redone. They chipped, some nails weren't completely painted, and I have a color of the nails from the lady before me on my nails. I'm not impressed at all. The techs were short and rude. Definitely not going again read more

If I could I wouldn't even rate this place with 1 star. I was desperate the day before going out of town to get my nails done so I went to the place that is conveniently close to where I live and also the place where I've had a handful of bad experiences. My light pink gel polish (closest color to OPI's bubble bath I could find) turned peach and started peeling after only 4 days The same day I got them done my thumb nail started peeling in the center and was still kind of sticky from the gel not being completely cleaned off. NEVER AGAIN, desperate or not, will I go here. I will drive the extra 10 miles to Perrysburg to have a better experience. read more

I've been here a couple times and they always let me choice a nail polish off of their large polish wall. The last time I went, the guy handed me a small box that was under the table and told me I could only pick a polish out of the bin. There were like 6 colors in it. I asked why I couldn't pick off the wall and he told me those were all gel polish. I've never gotten gel polish before so I don't know why he is acting like the polish on the wall is hell when I know for a fact they aren't. Always a rude staff. Oh my gosh. I needed a mani really quick while I was in town, and this was the only place I could find. Avoid at all costs- I should have known the minute I walked in the door and both people working there looked up at me, didn't say a peep, and looked back down. When I was finally acknowledged, I was sat at a DIRTY table. I brushed some of the nail dust off, but it was so so gross. The sign on the wall said any credit card transactions under $50 would be charged an extra dollar- I was charged $2. Not only that, but my nails were filed unevenly, and my three year old nephew could have done a better job painting them if he was blindfolded. I refused to even ask them to fix it- I was terrified of what THAT result would be! I immediately left and bought a nail file and nail polish remover. I regularly get pedicures as I travel to Florida every 4-6 weeks. I walked into this place because I needed my toes done for a wedding. I should know better than to expect the same level of service or talent in my small hometown that I get in Florida or California. The lady that started on my toes was nice enough but when I tell you that it only took her 15 minutes to unpolish, trim, remove cuticles and callouses, shape and buff my nails, I'm probably being generous. I kept my mouth shut until she "painted" them. I have NEVER had anyone leave such a gloppy mess on my toes. She didn't even TRY to "stay in the lines". She thought she could fix it with acetone and a brush. When she started to apply a top coat, I told her the job was unacceptable and it needed to be fixed. I honestly could have given myself a better pedicure at home. The manager chastised me for insisting a 3rd grader could have done a better job but never bothered to come over and look either. Another woman fixed the awful polish job with her own sub-standard paint job. (I'll be fixing it at home and getting another pedicure soon). The worst part of the entire process is that they charge $28 for a "spa" pedicure....there is no option for a regular pedicure. Believe me, this was as basic as basic could be. They will never get another dime of my money or anyone else's that I can warn away. read more
