I can't say enough good things about Elegant Bridals! Before I came here, I had only been to a David's Bridal near Atlanta, and I had a not-so-ideal experience of a pushy saleswoman pressuring me to buy something I didn't really like. After the stress I felt from that experience, I resigned myself to just finding something online and buying it, avoiding any pressure from sales people. However, I still wanted to try on a few dresses at bridal shops in person to see what styles I liked. This is how I found myself at Elegant Bridals. I only brought my mom with me, trying to keep the experience very low-key. My stylist was Dawn, and I'm so glad to say she was the opposite of every pushy salesperson I had ever feared! From the beginning, she made it clear that she was not here to sell me a dress- she was here to make sure I was happy with every aspect of this process (the dress AND the price). I told her my budget (trying to stay around $1500) and generally the style I liked (fit and flare skirt). She let my mom and I walk around the showroom by ourselves, picking out dresses to try, while she went in the back to their larger selection to see what she could find. The showroom had so many different styles to choose from, and Dawn brought a handful of dresses from the back as well. When she saw dresses we picked out from the showroom, she was sure to caution us if they were above my budget (which I really appreciated). She made it clear that no one would be offended if I didn't like something, and she wanted me to be brutally honest. I tried on many beautiful dresses (prices ranged from $1500-$3500), and when I finally found "the one", it was something Dawn had picked out from the back for me, and it was $1900- perfect! No dress I saw online could compare. There was only one problem....I had a different appointment at a second bridal shop coming up in 30 minutes. I told Dawn that I loved the dress, but I still had another appointment and I needed to check all my options before I was sure I wanted to purchase. She had no problem with that at all, and she totally understood. I went to the second shop, and lo and behold, a couple hours later, I found myself back at Elegant Bridals, unable to find anything at the second shop that was as perfect as "the dress". I made the purchase, Elegant Bridals ordered my size, and a few weeks later, my dress arrived! I am so grateful to Dawn and the rest of the team for the wonderful experience I had here. I went here for my elopement dress after my MIL insisted I should not buy a dress online. LOL The whole experience was AMAZING! Alice was just the best, she listened to everything I wanted and I tried on about 13 dresses during our appointment. Went in and had Rachel as a consultant. She was the sweetest!!! I showed her a picture of a dress design I was interested in and told her my budget and she showed me exactly what a wanted. The downside was that it was not within my budget. She got really creative and pulled some bridesmaids dresses and offered me some alteration ideas. I ended up finding the dress of my dreams for $275!!!! For a wedding dress, that the cheapest I've ever heard and everyone at my wedding loved it. I highly recommend Rachel. I visited Elegant Bridals after visiting a local alteration shop. Initially, I visited the alteration shop, but they were unable to provide me with my current measurements. After speaking with my sister, she told me to stop by Elegant Bridals, which is the location where she'd be ordering dresses for the wedding party. I called prior to coming and they set me up with an appointment right away. Traci, the manager was nice and efficient. She got my measurements in less than 5 minutes and had me try on a gown in the store to get my dress size. The appointment was all of 20 minutes, which was great. The location is awesome. It is located in the plaza with Windsor Jewelers. There is plenty of parking. The parking is a plus especially if there is an appointment in which all the bridal party should be present. Also, the store is very beautiful. They have a large selection of wedding gowns as well as gowns for the bridal party and mother. The staff is nice and have all bridal party records in order. They even offer everything online in the event your bridal party is not in the same city. Overall, great experience. I can't wait to see my MOH gown. read more

I set an appointment up weeks in advance. I showed up to my appointment and had to wait almost 20 minutes after my appointment time to be greeted (you only have an hour or hour and a half slot). After I was greeted I asked to look at the veils and dresses for my brides maids. I was told that I could not be helped because that was not in that designers area of expertise and she didn't have time to show us because she had another appointment coming up. Mind you, I already set up an appointment and she greeted us late to our set appointment time. Absolute worse customer service! Luckily I was able to look at other boutiques around the area and find my dress, veil, and dresses for my family. read more

I was very happy with the service I received at this boutique. I walked into Elegant Bridals three months before my wedding and requested a dress under 500$. I did not think they would have anything in that price range that fast. However without batting an eye the (manager I think) whisked me, my mother and sister to a room. After asking what I was looking for she returned with about 15 dresses, all 500$!! I was amazed. She told me that they were the sample dresses of lines that were no longer carried at Elegant Bridals. They all seemed to be in good condition. I tried on a few and found the one! A Maggie Sottero and about 4 sizes to big. The alterations department did a great cutting the dress down to a size 4. Plus they did the special bustle I wanted AND added custom straps. The dress was spot cleaned and looked great. All for about 160$ I was very happy. read more

PLEASE READ! I have been debating for a few weeks on how to handle my experience at Elegant Brides and I have decided that posting a Yelp review was the best way to get the word out about this business. My time at Elegant Brides was one of the most upsetting and uncomfortable experiences of my life that ended in tears, anger, and now this post. Here are the MINOR problems I encountered: 1. I was pressured into trying on dresses that I had NO INTEREST in trying on because they were brand new and she took the time to get them from the back. 2. I was made to stand around in nothing but my underwear in front of the sales consultant for 2 extended periods of time (not just the changing in and out process). 3. I was made to feel uncomfortable when I expressed negative opinions on a dress if the sales consultant liked it. 4. I was shown a dress that was nearly $1000 over my budget (one of the dresses that I was not interested in, thankfully). Alone, these four problems would have ruined my time, however; to make things even more uncomfortable are the following MAJOR problems I encountered: 1. My sales consultant was OPENLY RACIST, or at least VERY, very comfortable making racially charged comments. 1A. Upon learning my fiancé's last name (which is of Arabic decent) she immediately compared him to "Aladdin." 2. The sales consultant felt the need to whisper when bringing up African American women and made at least 2 racially charged remarks about black women. ELEGANT BRIDALS YOU MAY HAVE THOUGHT THIS DISGUSTING BEHAVIOR WAS ACCEPTABLE BECAUSE I AM WHITE, BUT YOU COULD NOT HAVE BEEN MORE WRONG! SHAME ON YOU! I went in and had a fabulous experience the first time. The second time was a pretty awful experience. The managers and consultants jumped through hoops to make it right. They didn't take on the "Oh we lost a customer but that's okay, there will always be brides and therefore more business" approach. I went back and had a great experience the third time. Don't be afraid to tell them if something bothered you. They actually care, they will feel bad, and they will try their absolute hardest to make it right. read more

We went to Elegant Bridals because we had been told great things by people who had already used them. We had two consultants help us and we found my daughter's wedding dress the very first trip. Ellen and Traci treated my daughter like a queen and really listened to her thoughts about her tastes and found the perfect dress for her big day. So, the wedding dress I wanted to purchase from Elegant Bridals was $200 more there than any other place I checked (I checked around 7 other bridal shops!), and the argument was that Elegant has better service than other shops, which I learned is not true. Here begins the crazy stuff. The consultant (Tracy, who I believe may be in charge of the place?) went on to explain that other shops charge for storage, shipping, pressing, etc, and she said (with an evil laugh) "when they match our service, we'll match their prices." Lo and behold, EVERY shop I had talked to offered all these things as well (I called and checked after talking to Tracy), but didn't brag about them - maybe because they seem obvious? One girl even laughed when I asked her about that stuff and said "of course that's all included!". And the other places made no reference to potentially bad service at other shops, they only told me what they offer without referencing other stores. Tracy's attitude and sales pitch (which was basically saying that all other places will treat me horribly and try to rip me off) came across and weirdly defensive and desperate. When I told her that every other place offered the same services, she then claimed that I'll never get the same "commitment" from other stores. Huh? In the end, I told her that I couldn't afford the extra $200 and I'd have to go elsewhere, and she said sarcastically "Well, good luck with that...". Wow... really?!? All this from a place that is very overtly Christian (to the point of being annoying), from the seamstress with "anointed fingers" and the "have a blessed day" on the voicemail, to the fact that I was told that some alterations "require more prayers than others." I'm not exactly comfortable with their prayer-based alterations system, but the negative/competitive attitude (sidenote: totally hypocritical based on their whole "Christian" deal, right?) is what pushed me over the edge. For the record, had my experience been better, I would have considered spending an extra $200 for great service. Nope! Not for Elegant Bridal. Tracy absolutely rubbed me the wrong way. I can't speak about anyone else in the store, nor the store itself, as all this nonsense happened over the course of two quite long phone calls. read more

Coming from the Los Angeles area I was awestruck by the affordable prices, at the time May 2013 no gown over 3K. (Having read the previous reviews for this boutique, I respectfully suggest if your budget is $500 for a wedding gown you may want to look into buying previously worn or a rental.) After having previously tried on wedding dresses and receiving excellent service elsewhere, my stop at Elegant Bridals was the first horrible experience I had. They ask you your bra size to have you wear obviously worn undergarments to try on their dresses. Any questions I asked were answered in a very abrasive and rude manner. I do not recommend them at all, you should be treated like a princess when trying on your wedding dress, not like you are trying on a prom dress. read more

As a friend of a bride who purchased a dress here I was very disappointed to hear that she was poorly taken care of by the customer service personnel. She had chosen the dress of her dreams only to have the dress ordered in the wrong size. To add insult to injury the store reps did nothing to compensate her for this tragedy. Their attempt at "letting out" the dress did not appear to be an attempt at all and I am just appalled that they would not want to assist further simply to save their own reputations. A wedding dress purchase should be one of the happiest and simplest tasks on a wedding to do list. I visited Elegant Bridal on Saturday, March 1, 2014. I had made an appointment on the previous Tuesday through the website. A consultant called me the following day to set up a time. My mother and I drove down from Abbeville, South Carolina, had lunch, and visited an upscale consignment shop while waiting for the appointment time. Eventually, we decided to just go ahead and show up about an hour early at Elegant Bridals just thinking we would look around and gather our thoughts and ideas. Surprisingly, the consultant set us up almost immediately with a room and arranged for us to look through the sample gowns. The shop will provide you with a strapless corset and slip in your size if you like. Kayla, my personal consultant, was very thorough in asking about my style, price range, and overall ideas for my wedding. We looked through a few dresses together, then she took my mother and I to a private room to begin the process of elimination. Every Dress was Beautiful! They have a wide range of selections and prices. I was impressed because I am a bride on a Budget. Of course, I could have bought the $300 dollar dress at the consignment shop for a bit cheaper, but continuing to stay within my budget, I was able to find the most amazing vintage, lace slip dress that fit my body almost to a T! Knowing that I wanted to keep the price around $1000, Kayla suggested buying it off the rack for a discounted price. The dress was originally $1650 pre-tax. I was able to purchase it for $1200. You may think this isn't such a budget friendly price, but for THE special day, I was willing to spend more on the dress if it was THE DRESS. and it was. I was so pleased with this salon and the friendly staff. If you live in the Augusta area, or even a few hours away, I would suggest trying this place out. I found it!
