My wife and I got married April 6, 2019 at the Point Vicente Interpretive Center in Palos Verdes. Our friend suggested DJ Joel and after going on to the website and reviewing some of the photos and mixing samples I sent Joel an email in the evening. He called me the next day and we had a great conversation about the style of wedding and the overall logistics. Throughout the whole process, Joel was very responsive and would promptly answer all of our questions. We gave a down payment and coordinated with him and some of our other vendors when to do a site visit. Joel was very hands on and invested in making the ceremony and reception a high quality event. We had a follow up call to go over our some of our specific song choices and overall feel we wanted at different times throughout the night. Joel took our general theme and mix of music and put together a great compilation of songs that kept people dancing throughout the night. We had an interesting mix of 80s musics combined with more modern upbeat dance songs. Joel was able to strike a great balance and helped represent the character of both me and my wife with regards to our preference in song choices. My partner and I hired DJ Joel as the DJ and MC for our wedding a few weeks ago. This was one of the best decisions we made throughout the wedding planning process. From our first zoom call together, we could tell that Joel was not only incredibly talented at his work but also just an honest, genuine person. He is friendly, professional, and organized. Compared to other vendors we spoke with, his rates were competitive and he very clearly laid out what was included in his rate without trying to upsell us on anything. He was incredibly easy to work with and guided us through the planning process by asking us which songs we would like for the many parts of our ceremony and reception-even coming out of his way to meet up with us for the final consultation. He worked well with all of our vendors and recommended a great photobooth vendor who also did a great job in bringing fun props and designing a beautiful template. Our guests had a great time at the photobooth and were able to leave us a copy of their pictures in our guestbook. The ceremony was perfect-all the songs we requested played at the right time and the audio was set up so that everyone could hear despite being in an outdoor amphitheater. For the reception, he had great ideas to make sure everyone had a good time such as taking a group photo on the dance floor and arranging a couples dance. This is the second time I have hired Elegance Entertainment. The first time I hired Joel was for my parent's 40th wedding anniversary party that was held in their backyard five years ago. DJ & MC Joel was a Life Saver! I knew him over the years from mutual friends. I'm fortunate I kept tabs with him. Due to how Covid-19 & social distancing from personal life changes were handled, my original DJ was no longer available 3 months out. I contacted Joel, and while feeling like I was touching base with an old friend, he was very professional, organized, flexible and patient. He helped me with my Wedding Gobo signage and of course with my play list - From the dancing to the cake cutting, etc., and 1 month out, he helped me with my music from my last minute switch from a church to a garden wedding - ending up being the same site as the reception itself. I want to assure you that he is very Covid-19 conscious as a vendor. While this is what he does in his spare time, he has built what he has done over the years as a casual DJ that he merely enjoyed as a hobby into quite a professional operation to current. The most memorable part was during my Covid-19 money dance, upon which he told the guests there was the option to Venmo or PayPal me....And the funniest thing is, people sent me the money though Venmo. He joked around when the flower girl caught the wedding bouquet when my cousin tried to make a beeline interception of it to give it back, and when there were unexpected changes or time delays he lead the wedding back to schedule. He worked well with our wedding and senior event coordinators. After a while, they did what they needed to do, so I no longer had to worry and just be the "Bride".
