They were very helpful and affordable. I explained my problem -- my laptop would no longer boot --…read moreand asked if they could retrieve any data. Kelly said she would try. My hard drive ended up being completely fried (shame on me for never making time to back it up). She replaced it with a refurbished drive, explaining that the machine itself should be good for another year or two. She also installed Office, AVG Antivirus, & CCleaner for free, added a 30-day repair warranty, and gave me some tips to make my computer's remaining life as long as possible. Lastly, she let me know the lowest payment option for the repair (well under $200). I've had my laptop back for 2 weeks now, and it's running well. Only issues: It does lag occasionally. The intro screen jumps and blurs in a way it never used to. Also, "sleep" is no longer an option; trying to wake it from sleep mode results in the blue screen. I just have to turn it off and start over. I'm prepared for anything now, though, considering the computer's age, so I'm backing everything up frequently and trying not to overwork it. The location is a little sketch to drive up to, but they explained on Facebook that their new headquarters (no longer on Highway 5) allow them to offer lower prices. Hours are clearly listed on Facebook. Their phone personality can be a little stilted, but as someone who grew up in morbid fear of talking on the phone, I can't blame them too much. Considering that GkSqd charges $50 for a diagnostic alone, definitely pay these guys a visit first. UPDATE: Strangely enough, I'm not getting the blue screen anymore, and I don't know why. It hasn't done that for a couple weeks now. I don't know what changed, but I'm not complaining!

Terrible service. We went in a couple weeks ago to see if my laptop charger could be repaired…read morebecause our dog bit a hole in it around Christmastime and it had finally given out. They asked for my laptop and plugged my charger into it and, of course, it wouldn't charge. So they put their "brand new" charger into it and smoke started coming out of my laptop. They said that my laptop was shorted out and that that was why the charger started smoking. This had never happened before even with a broken charger so I wouldn't be the least bit surprised if it was their off brand charger. We paid the $150 fee for them to "fix" the problem. They had to order a new part for the laptop and a new charger. After waiting a week, we got the laptop back while being cautioned to make sure when we plugged it in to put it straight in. I used it for a day or two until it needed to be charged again. I went to plug it in and, lo and behold, the charger does not even fit properly into the laptop. It is a magnetized charger and it was still falling out of the port which clearly hadn't been replaced the right way. We took it back to Your Computer People and they blamed it on me, saying that I wasn't plugging it in straight and that I shorted out the laptop again. I don't know how it would be possible to not put it in straight, but that's what they went with. They were going to charge another $150 for it, even though it was messed up JUST 2 DAYS after getting it "fixed" the first time. But decided to be "nice" and only charge $40 for the part. After a week, we called to see if it was ready to be picked up and they said no so we had to wait 3 more days until we could get it. I have had it for 2 days and have used this charger once. It worked so far, but I do not have high hopes for it. We will definitely be doing business elsewhere.
