Tony from Eagle Rock was super nice on the phone, was able to work with me on what we needed and we picked up the food right on time. The food was also very good, everyone enjoyed it very much. The big knock I have is that this cost me over $400 and it looked like half the food wasn't there. I mean this was not a lot of food at all, which for the price should be enough food for 25 people minimum. I'm just glad we had the other food or else this food table would have looked abysmal! This looked like food for 10 people, maybe 12 max. I'd go here for a plate, but never cater if that's normal for the amount of money I paid...

It comes with a side salad and your choice of one additional side; I went with the quinoa tabouli, which was light, flavorful, and satisfying. The portion sizes were just right, and there's plenty of parking available, which made the visit even more convenient. The location is part of a lively strip mall with a variety of options--there's a Menchie's for a sweet treat afterward and a Sprouts nearby if you need to pick up groceries. While there's no public restroom on-site, I was able to use the facilities at Sprouts without any trouble. The overall atmosphere was welcoming, and everyone I interacted with was kind and helpful. I'm looking forward to coming back and trying more from the menu.

Last night, a hotel staff member at the Hills Inn Eagle Rock barged into my room at midnight. I screamed. Then she quickly closed the door. But then she kept on knocking until I got up, turned on the light, and came to the door. She apologized and said it was a mistake. But I lay awake for hours after that with my heart pounding. I have never had that happen to me or been so scared as I was staying at this hotel alone. When I went down to complain to the manager/person on duty, I was told that there was nothing they could do for me. She told me there was no general manager I could talk to, and she refused to give me a written report of the incident. I would have liked to have the one night of my stay compensated, as I can't believe I've actually paid to sleep this poorly and be scared half to death at midnight. But she told me that wasn't possible. She then rather dismissively told me to contact Expedia if I was dissatisfied with her response. I'm here to give a speech at a conference, and I am so rattled and furious that I'm doing this instead of preparing. I'm having to escalate this with Expedia customer service. I'm outraged and appalled by the poor customer service and the lack of care about the security of their guests. I would absolutely not stay here. Especially if you're a solo woman traveler. Also, the bathroom door doesn't fully open, so you have to close the door after turning on a noisy fan light. Basically, you have to sit on the toilet sideways if you don't want to turn on a light with a noisy fan. And the wifi lags.

The bad parts: Even though I called in advance to let them know, I would be arriving between 7 PM and 8 PM, they didn't warn me that their lunch break was during that time so when I arrived, I had to wait about 20 minutes outside before someone could let me in to check into my room. Also, like a lot of motels, there is no public restroom outside of the room itself, which can be challenging when you are traveling with family. Random: They had decent coffee in the lobby in the morning, but no hot water. There was also some sort of breakfast that you could pre-order for eight dollars if you wanted. Be aware that the mini fridge in the room will need to be turned on when you arrive, it won't be cold If you decide to get some breakfast or lunch, after checking out, you might wanna ask them if you can keep your car in the lot while you walk to your food place, because it can be challenging to find other parking in the area
