At the time they installed it, they removed the backflow preventer that was connected to the boiler and forgot to reinstall it. This had been installed on the previous boiler and was required by law. It was laying on the floor. I called them back, told them they needed to reattach this as it is required by law and they came back and put it back on. Now approximately six months later, I had a RP backflow inspection that is required annually. The backflow inspection failed and it leaked in the brand new boiler Fountain Valley had just installed. The inspector noticed Fountain valley made a mistake putting two backflow preventers on the boiler now, instead of just the single testable backflow device that should be attached to the boiler. There are now two devices, one that is testable (the one I had them reattach) and one they installed that does not need to be there and is not testable. If someone at fountain valley knew what they were doing they would not have installed the non testable device as it was redundant. I didn't need it and yet I was charged for it. In addition, they turned both valves to the backflow device off causing water pressure issues. I called fountain valley and told them the backflow preventer is leaking and my inspection failed. Matt, the owner came out and proceeded to start yelling at both my plumber and me. He swore at us and used extremely vulgar language claiming they did nothing wrong. They obviously didn't know what they were doing. They installed a duplicate backflow device that isn't testable, messed up my testable backflow device and turned off both valves to the device. I had to pay the inspector/plumber on site to fix all of their mistakes on a brand new boiler. Ridiculous. I will never use them again.

They came out in Jan 2023 when the cold ruptured our kitchen water lines in numerous places. Not only did the repairs in brutal cold working on his back to access the outside crawl space but he installed two shut off valves so if this happens again we will not have to shut all the water off to the whole house. The price of regular inspections has remained steady for years. Techs have always been friendly, professional and informative. Highly recommend this company.

I called All star electric for a potential warranty issue on an outlet. I had an outdoor camera…read morethat was not working. I received a text at 12:40 that Peter was on his way to my house. I have this time stamped on my phone. He arrived about 10 minutes later. After he arrived he started looking at the issue and stated he did not know why my camera wasn't working and wasn't sure about what was causing the problem. Turns out it wasn't the outlet. I popped out the battery on my camera and reinstalled it and it started working again. So I fixed the issue. He then started to talk about other things and he was standing at the door writing up my invoice. I looked at the clock and it was 12:30. It took him a few minutes to write the invoice up, which is funny because there are only a few sentences on the invoice. He billed me $210 for quantity of 1. I assume that means one hour. That is a lot for one hour, especially since he didn't fix anything. There is also a charge of $39 for a trip fee and a $14 admin fee. None of these charges were discussed with me ahead of time. He ended up charging me $263 for less than an hours work and he did not even fix the issue. I fixed it. I was also going to get an estimate of doing work at another place I own. We drove there and I asked Peter if he wanted to do the estimate or do a small repair first. He said he would do the repair first since he already started the clock on that job. He was not even out of the car yet and he is billing me. This annoyed me because he already over billed me at the first house. I told him to forget it and I would not have him do the repair or give me an estimate since he already over billed me on the first issue. We were walking away and in front of my tenant Peter proceeds to ask me about the value of my house and asked about the neighborhood. I was shocked he even knew the value of my house and I am not sure why that was relevant unless he was using it for his pricing and how much he would charge me. I certainly didn't appreciate him discussing the value of my house in front of my tenants. This was extremely inappropriate and irrelevant and I was surprised about the conversation. The entire interaction felt unprofessional and I don't feel like I got my moneys worth. I will never use this company again.

When our crawl space flooded 2 years ago, Bill came and crawled through the mud to inspect the furnace, which was ruined from the water. He got the fans on it and when it was dry he brought his team in and they got the old one out and a whole new system put in before it got really cold. He came back when it start to warm up outside and got the A/C running and it is so nice! Yesterday when my hot water tank failed after 10 years Ingrid sent a technician, Andrew, to my home as soon as possible, got the old one out after diagnosing that it had indeed failed. Due to new regulations on insulation the tank was way to big to fit back in the space, so it was decided that we would go tankless. They cleaned up and came back this morning, installed the new unit.
