They offer PC repair service and a 'health check' for slow computers for £35, which is in my opinion a bit of a steep diagnosis price. But then again, if you are some kind of luddite and think that defragmenting refers to something from Deep Space Nine perhaps it's not too much to ask in order to get your computer up and running again! Amongst other features they also have a number of mobile phone accessories, mobile unlocking service, repairs and sim cards. All the electricals you might need in this one indie store. Not bad!

If you are looking for some Indian style clothing or gorgeously colouful material then you would benefit from a visit here. The jewellery is not something I would wear but great if you are looking for something loud and glitzy. With the co-op hoarded with students, queues and empty shelves sometime I just cannot face it! Therefore small family run groceries and DVD rental store Village Video is a much more relaxed option. The shop is small and full of the essential at reasonable cheap prices. In addition to food basics the shop sells very cheap wine and beer as well as a variety of sweets (perfect when renting a DVD). In contrast to the low cost food goodies, Village Video's film rental costs are quite pricey. At £3-£4 pound a pop the corner shop is charging more than the local blockbusters. Despite the library being fairly large it cannot compare to the new releases chain rental companies have to offer. In addition to this, DVDs are costing less and less in the shop, making it cheaper to go and buy a film you want to see rather than rent! Despite rental costs Village shop is a nice break from the hustle and bustle of the masses of shoppes in the Co-Op next door! Village video's has a nice family feel and friendly staff. It does the job if you need you change, however the prices do not compare to those offered by larger chains.

Lead Lane newsagent also doubles as a paypoint for paying your bills and National Lottery outlet. A cashpoint within makes it a very convenient place to shop if you are in the area and its reasonable prices mean its worth visiting for basic just to avoid the parking in Ripon centre!
