Great food, excellent value to size ratio. I've tried a couple different dishes and never been disappointed!

Very fresh and flavorful. Not too sweet or one-note soy bombed as many can be. Will be back !

The star of the show was the kalbi chicken, which was extremely tender and packed in so much flavor.

Not sure if something changed when they moved locations but the food and service left much to be desired. Since their new location is a bit far away from me, I ordered a pickup order online. Upon arrival, I promptly made my way to the pick up area to inform them the name under my order. Not only was there no eye contact when handing over the bag of food, but there were no words exchanged as well. We ordered the Hawaiian nachos and the honey walnut shrimp this time. I appreciated that the ingredients were packed separately for the Hawaiian nachos to avoid it being soggy. The kalua pork and the spicy ahi tasted good but the wonton chips were barely edible from being overdone. A lot of them were fried together in groups of 2-4 so we had to manually break them apart. I ended up eating the kalua pork and spicy ahi with rice instead of the wonton chips. The honey walnut shrimp and the rice was good, but nothing noteworthy compared to other places I've tried. The side of mac was on the creamier side and I enjoyed the texture of the macaronis.

But today, I had the time to swing by and fortunately he was open, but SOLD OUT. Fortunately, he had a few things left over. So I said yes to a mix plate. Nolan's Hawaii accent is still thick it made me feel like I was back home on the west side for a second (!!!!thank you!!!!) I met some people outside the food stand, a business man from Hawaii and some California people I mistaken were from Hawaii as well, lol. It was an awesome interaction, from the moment I got there I got greeted by strangers waiting for food, to going up to the window and asking "so what? No more nuttin left?" Nolan's response was "Nah I only get mochicko chicken and kalua, you likem?" Haha that was a definite yes! Won't miss out on home food esp if word of mouth was already out there. So I waited a few minutes for my food, and the box was heavy. Haha it felt like when you would eat at your aunty and uncles house and they pack you the party left overs. I opened my plate lunch and I was greeted by a huge portion of chicken, pork rice and Mac salad. And let me tell you, the Mac salad didn't have so much frills like what you would see in a Portland Hawaii food joint. It was sauced, and seasoned. PERFECT! No need for all the extra add ons. As I started eating, let me say that kalua pork was no joke so moist and easy to eat not even close to dried out. The chicken tasted nice and crispy with just enough marinate and fluff. I haven't found this anywhere in Oregon..until here. Yeah sure there's a poke and katsu bar in the shopping center next door... but I take the random food cart in the parking lot any day over something franchised

You would see that it's going to a motel, you would think to add the silverware. Fortunately, I was able to get silverware from my motel's breakfast room. The lumpia were very good. They were not greasy at all. They are smaller than standard eggrolls, but because they use more meat and less veggies than your standard eggroll, they pack a lot more flavor. Everything inside was seasoned well, and I really enjoyed them. They came with a vinegar based dipping sauce that I liked The "garlic Ponzu" salmon poke? No, not nearly as good. For the price they were charging, it was not a very big portion. Besides that, it just wasn't that good. A good salmon is normally pink to orange. This salmon was barely pink. I couldn't taste the garlic or the Ponzu at all. The veggies were crisp, the rice was a good quality, but there was just no seasoning. The salmon was very bland. I didn't know if it was just because of the seasoning, maybe they used a low quality or a previously, frozen salmon. I love good salmon. This was not good salmon. For the price I paid, not counting the DoorDash fees because those are added in anyway, I just felt I didn't get my moneys worth. Next time I'm in the area, I will find another place. Thanks anyway.

The ambiance is very tropical and fun, and love that they have such a spacious bathroom! They have an extensive drinks menu, like several pages long! With so many guava, pineapple and coconut-based options, it was honestly confusing on what to get but we decided on the classics: the Lei Lani Volcano and Lava Flow. The drinks were so creamy and delicious yet dangerously strong! Also, can we talk about the portion sizes? My drink was literally the size of my face, like what?!! It is best to come here in large groups because their shared drinks/scorpion bowls are a total showstopper! It is in a very upscale neighborhood of Portland called Grant Park, so it was fun to walk around and see all the cool houses - there was one imitating a thatched roof and what not. Worth checking out the neighborhood before or after visiting Hale Pele.

Well it's like to patties in one burger a decent beef one and the spam. The spam gives a nice salty background but is surprisingly not in the foreground of the taste. The teriyaki sauce is not to much and rounds up the overall taste. The pineapple is kind of the star with being in sweetness and the needed texture. It's not crunchy but different. Overall a well made tasty burger. Ps if the restaurant gives you a wet towel from the beginning you know what's coming and this was juicy messy burger!
