Our wedding theme was "WeddingChella" (wordplay on Coachella) and booking a solid DJ with an appreciation for a music-driven event was one of our top priorities! I listened to a bunch of DJ sample mixes and received several quotes from others, but Electric Entertainment DJs came recommended by our venue and did not disappoint in terms of talent, pricing, and options. BOOKING DECISION: Compared to larger DJ companies, booking Electric Entertainment was a smaller operation, with more direct contact over email, phone, and text. Joey was happy to hop on the phone with me for an intro of our wedding vision and provide an overview of how his DJ'ing group is different from the others. When I heard they had a saxophone accompaniment option, I was IN! CONTRACTING/PAYMENT: A quick PDF contract was drafted and a deposit/final payment was facilitated electronically, which made the process very smooth. I did have to settle my own payments (they didn't reach out) to make sure they were paid on time. INTAKE: Upon booking, Joey provided a client portal that provided intake forms for ceremony music, reception music/announcements, and must play/do not play music. All super helpful resources for getting organized. I had some requests outside of the form (saxophone song request and a mix for our first dance) that were accommodated as well! DAY-OF: While we booked a Veteran DJ due to our budget, we were thrilled to hear that Joey was available to DJ for our event!! He was awesome and arrived with plenty of time to set up our ceremony and reception sound systems. He worked well with our coordinator performing all the announcements. The sound quality was excellent for all portions of the event. Even though the dance floor hadn't formally opened, we had plenty of kids (and adults) dancing during dinner - he's that good! Guests of all ages had a blast. Joey delivered on the "music festival" hype and even got the groom dancing like Michael Jackson. It was a night to remember. After hearing our reason for having a last minute wedding, they were generous enough to cut us a great deal so we could still have a DJ and great wedding experience. I also love that in one payment, everything from music, sound system, to mood lighting for the dance floor was provided! Abe was a fantastic DJ, full of energy and just overall a really nice guy. Even when I didn't do my part in giving him a list of song requests and told him our recessional song last minute, he still came through! The internet was spotty at our venue and he didn't have our recessional song available when I told him last minute, and he still made the effort to track the song down and we still got to walk back down the aisle to the newest Taylor Swift song. Much appreciated! The most magical part of Abe was his ability to somehow read my mind and play all the songs that would've been on my song request list. Great! Professional and talented! We used Electric Entertainment for my son's Bar Mitzvah and had an incredible night of fun and dancing. DJ Chris was a master! I took time to make a list of songs we wanted and they added many more we had not considered that fit the mix so so well. We were all very impressed and had a blast! So many of us seriously did not eat dinner and danced the entire night. I got the light package added on and it was so cost effective and added a lot to the experience. I believe it was the full set of up lights as well as dance floor lights. Compared to the venue pricing for lights, this is the way to go. Additionally, I sent about 400 photos for a slideshow that we wanted to be on the projector behind the DJ the entire time. We did not stop the party for a slide show of our son's life. We preferred that the show run all night so we could experience it in a variety of ways and not stop the fun. This was a great choice because Electric Entertainment made a great arrangement of the slides and all in attendance just kept dancing and having fun with the photos blended into the experience. Finding an affordable DJ around the Santa Barbara, CA area was one of the most difficult parts of wedding planning for me. 'Only $1,500 for 4 hours of music--what a steal!', 'High-quality music services for your event? No problem! Just sign away your future firstborn child and put down a small deposit!', all the ads said. Just when I was starting to seriously consider using my 2010 Macbook Pro and a pair of cheap speakers, I came across Electric Entertainment's ad online. And THANK GOD I did--Joey was everything I was looking for in a DJ/emcee and so much more. Aside from being easygoing and friendly, he is a true professional who knows how to cater to his clients' needs and wishes.
