We hired Check One 2 for my daughters Bat Mitzvah, after experiencing them at another family event. We also added on a lighting package and their Photo Booth. Their music and delivery was more than I expected. Everyone loved the music and the dancers really got everyone going with different moves and games. Growing up in a time when dancers weren't around, I am here to say, "kids need them these days". The kids today aren't as outgoing a social and some are glued to their devices to the parents that give them to them. The dancers, MC and DJ did a great job to keep the kids active and moving. Check One 2 has a policy to keep the music "clean" and age appropriate. They mostly handle their communication through email and online phone call scheduling. It can be a little challenging when you feel the stress to talk to someone right away, but I found them to be very professional and manage their time in an appropriate manner to connect with their clients before an event. I didn't love the quality of the photo booth printouts; maybe a 7 out of 10. For this add On I may skip it and choose a photo booth company where that's their main business. Wow!!! We hired CheckOne2 for my kids' B'nai at the Westlake Village Inn and they absolute made the party a blast!! They did the best job of setting such a celebratory vibe to our party. I have been to a few other parties as a guest where they were the DJs and MCs and have always been super impressed (hence why I knew I wanted them for my kids' B'nai), but being the host made me see how incredible they really are! It is 6 months post my daughter's Bat Mitzvah and I am still so saddened that this DJ company let us down in such a big way. First of all, the owner was not interested in truly listening to our needs and concerns. He brushed us off on phone calls. I let it go thinking he would still perform day of....Second, I asked him specifically for certain items like printing my daughter's photos at the Photo Booth for everyone. I have this verified by email. Day of- no printed pictures. When I reached out about this he was defensive and rude, not apologetic or caring at all. Last, the DJS were not great at getting the kids to dance. They were rude to the planner when we asked them to change the sound quality. I can honestly say hiring this DJ almost ruined the night for us. I strongly advise thinking twice. read more

For all those looking for an honest review of CheckOne2Entertainment, here goes. We had CheckOne2 for my son's Bar Mitzvah. The DJs and dancers were great. They had the crowd dancing all night. Everybody loved the music and the dancing/DJ part of the party. There was, however, one big disappointment. We were supposed to show a video before the toast. We had sent it two weeks before the event to Terry, the owner, to make sure it would play properly at the event. We asked more than once if there was anything else we needed to provide them or test to make sure it plays. If they needed the file in a different format. If they needed to file to be bigger, smaller, anything. We asked several times if the DJs had made sure they could play it. The answer was always, it works great. We'll see you at the party. When we arrived at the party, however, the DJs didn't know anything about the video. Fortunately, I was told by our party planners to bring a backup copy. We transferred the copy onto their laptop, but the file had some glitches as it played. After trying for several minutes to get it to work properly, we had to abandon the video. We had spent quite a bit of time creating it and our guests were made to sit and wait while we fiddled with it to get it working. Very disappointing. When we told the owner, Terry, that we loved the DJs and dancers but that the situation with our video was unprofessional, we didn't get a response from him for over a week. He finally sent us a form email asking us to post a review for his company. Before we posted this review, we called to give him a chance to respond again to our disappointment. Rather than simply apologizing, he became defensive and claimed that he had done everything he could and that the video snafu wasn't his fault. That he had loaded the video, told the DJs about it and had everything under control. Clearly, this was not the case as the DJs didn't even know about our video and couldn't find it anywhere on their laptop. So, the long and the short story about CheckOne2Entertainment: If you want DJs to get your party going with great dancers and great music, they do a great job. But if you have a truly special event with even the slightest special request, and it's an important day, and you need to play a video or something else that is very important to you, CheckOne2Entertainment may not be the company you're looking for. I would not recommend hiring them for anything more complex than their excellent DJ work. read more

Terry has it going on. No DJ is cheap and it's ridiculous I pay like triple for the DJ for a bar and bat mitzvah as I did for my wedding only 15 years ago, but it is what it is. We at least got our money's worth. Terry has several crews and we went and saw a few Emcees. All seemed good but we chose Adam, and boy are we glad we did. He was just outstanding at our event. Between him, the DJ and our two dancers, Lady and Taz, they had everyone out dancing. I can't remember any kind of event where all the kids and adults were out there, but they consistently had everyone engaged on the dance floor. The BEST DJ, MC and Dancers by far!!! After seeing and dancing with this company at a friend's son's Bar Mitzvah, we had to hire them for our twin daughters Bat Mitzvahs! These guys know how to throw a party and keep the energy high! No one ever got off the dance floor, there were no lulls, just dancing and feeling good the entire night! None of the kids were sitting around on their phones and no asked to be picked up early...honest! I DJ'd full time through college and a couple years after. I've DJ'd house parties, events, clubs, bars, fashion shows, store openings, you name it. I also got out of DJing about 8 years ago. A good friend called me to tell me his dad is having a party and without waiting for him to answer, I jumped at the opportunity to help out. I met with them and did the initial questionnaire about time, style, music choices, requests, etc. I kept my cool, but I was worrying that this was a bit over my head. I haven't kept up with music for the last few years. I wasn't in full panic, but I needed help. I started calling around and trying to get some recommendations. An old DJ buddy told me to just look on yelp so I started calling around and sending emails. A bunch of wannabe soundcloud DJs tried to overcharge me, I was getting a bit annoyed. Paris Paul got back to me and I explained that I know what I need, and I know what I'm looking to spend. He was incredibly nice and reasonable to work with. I went ahead and sent the deposit. He sent me an online questionnaire that went above and beyond what I was asking. At the event, the DJ who showed up was missing the lighting, which I really wanted. Within the hour, someone was at the location with a full lighting set ready to go. I have experience leaving stuff behind, and I was understanding and flexible if everything didn't go perfectly. It absolutely did. At times I definitely know I was micro managing the DJ. He kept his cool, and played the perfect lounge music while the party started, the best background music once it picked up and the best party music once it kicked in. They turned what could have ended up being a slow moving stuffy affair into an all out dance party for everyone from age eight to eighty. CheckOne2 Entertainment performed at our wedding and our wedding would not have been nearly as memorable without them! Prior to the wedding they were incredibly accessible and accommodating. They always responded in a timely manner to our inquiries and offered countless good suggestions. We filled out a detailed information sheet with them with our preferred songs, favorite songs, etc. and we were not disappointed during our wedding. Every request was met, which is not always the case when dealing with a multifaceted event. They played the music for our wedding ceremony and everything ran smoothly. They discretely set up a booth in the back played the music perfectly - every song started on time, during both the processional and recessional! Paris was our DJ and he was incredible! He kept our crowd happy and engaged. There was never a lull in our wedding, our event flowed smoothly. He kept a strict timeline that never felt forced! He played a wide array of music that pleased all of our guests and his energy and presence set the perfect tone. He also worked well with every person at our wedding - he was great with all of our nine ring bearers and flower girls, with our parents, grandparents, and our friends! He was truly talented! This company ruined my son's Bar Mitzvah reception. They did not send the MC that was discussed and agreed upon. They sent someone else that I did not know. They were late with the music in the cocktail hour. When we started to arrived, they were not dressed and there was no music playing. They were dealing with wires and electrical problems and the atmosphere was awful. They had previously told me how to burn my montage CD, which I did, and it would not play in the machine they brought. I had it on my MacBook but they did not have the adapter to make it play. NO MONTAGE. They pride themselves on keeping everyone dancing all night, but nobody danced at my son's party. They couldn't even get the group to do the Hora or a decent grand entrance. They forgot to do the honor dance which we had chosen and told them to do. They committed to bringing towers with lights on them but they did not. The room looked completely unlit. Not at all what was described. I felt like I was completely deceived and my party was not good because of it. It's true what they say about the DJ makes the party. This DJ ruined mine! read more
