First off, I will say that I had my lips filled once before at Allure Medspa and my injector was…read moreincredible! After that I found Bowtox Junkie aka Roar Aesthetics and Wellness which is closer to me so I had my lips filled by Krystal 5 times total over the years. After seeing her a few times she mentioned I could always get a little Botox to help reduce any gums showing in my smile. I took her suggestion and she injected Botox in a pyramid or triangular pattern just beside my nostril as the tip and two in the area just below that. I have included a picture for reference. Loved the results! The following session, however, did not serve me well. When Krystal was injecting the Botox (Dysport) I noticed she was not putting it in the right area and she spoke out loud, "Lip fliiiip" as she was injecting the area. It felt quite different and produced very different results :( After she reviewed my chart she realized she injected Botox for the lip flip rather than what she had previously done to reduce any gums showing when I smiled. I was extremely unhappy and she stated the results would fade after a few short weeks. I couldn't feel my lips, I couldn't mouth wash or sip water from a glass without spilling, I couldn't purse my lips closed. I had a crooked smile as well! She explained that it would resolve itself soon. **It didn't.** She credited my Aspire account for $100 off that would expire within 30 days. But at that point I had already gone back to have filler added without a cost reduction or corrective action taken. She said you can't undo a lip flip like you could dissolve filler. I was so disappointed with this I will not go back and really felt not only hurt that she was not apologetic but sad that my face was altered almost permanently because my smile has not been the same since and is *still* flipped and crooked/drooping 10 months later. My lips themselves are point up differently than they ever have and my mouth shape appears smaller. A careless mistake by an injector who may be overbooked or rushing could not only cost you $$$ wasted but it could alter your face with undesired results for the foreseeable future. P.S. anyone considering a lip flip- !!!!! which of course I never requested!!!!- Botox Lip Flip is nothing more than a gimmick. Injecting the upper lip with Botox is a very advanced technique, injectors that don't have the experience treating the area could really ruin your face, destroy your confidence and paralyze your face so be careful who you choose as an injector! Also.... I did enjoy Krystal's injections prior but in this experience I felt like she was unapologetic and dismissed my concerns. Everyone makes mistakes, I get it. ***She should have reviewed my chart like she usually would before injecting me again*** She was rushed during that session and the session after that when I went back for filler and tried to show me my photos of lip gaslighting me that my lips looked fuller and better. I've never felt so insecure about my smile until she lip flipped me absent-mindedly. Be sure that she takes her time with you during your sessions and you are able to confirm injection sites/ bowtox vs filler, etc.
