I chose Shimmer Salon because it was close to my home and had good reviews. I was able to schedule my haircut online with Yelina. I loved everything about my first time visit with Yelina that I have been back two other times for haircuts with her. The salon is on the main floor of this old house and I love that, like many businesses in Ocala. It is always clean and neat when I visit. Yelina always does a great job with shampooing, conditioning, and cutting my hair. Yelina also always finds a way to keep the volume in my hair and cut it so it looks like a new haircut for at least a month afterwards. Yelina is also quick, maybe because I'm simple with my requests. There are several other hair stylists here and they also have a tattoo studio. They have blowout memberships and products for sale. The hours are better than most salons in the area and they have their own parking lot. FYI, if you are staring at the building from the street, it's the lot on the left side, not next to the apartment complex.

I'm not a hair dresser so I was putty in her hands. She suggested low lights for some definition. She was efficient but not "rushy". My color came out great and the low lights looked so natural! I asked for a trim and that's what she did- telling me she may be a little conservation with the scissors but she can always take more off. The salon feel is a little retro and I understand their clientele is more mature so that makes sense. I liked the feel of the salon- it was comforting to me. I enjoyed the experience that went ahead and made another appt which I don't normally do. While I can't speak about any other stylist in the salon, I can recommend Terri.

I consider my feet monster-esque and always aim to find a place pulling out all the extras. Abitaré has become my go-to. I always get a basic gel manicure with the Lux pedicure. That being said I've received services from numerous techs and they're all wonderful. The nail rooms are calm and serene as well. The products used are also higher end than a basic nail place and I always appreciate the drink offered with my Lux pedicure
