Bikes + Bike Hauler
Ryan O.

If you're like me and have never ridden an electric bike, you're in for a shock (sorry for the pun). Seriously, though, the future is now. This is some technology you do not want to fear -- embrace it with open arms. Electric bikes are awesome! What else is awesome is Electric Adventures and the owner, Luke. You're in good hands and he will explain everything you need to know to have a good time on the E-bikes he has for rent. And what better place to ride than the trails around lake CDA? As for the bikes themselves, they were in great condition. You can choose to pedal manually (like a traditional bike) and set the amount of added boost you want from the battery. If you're feeling ballsy, set the boost pretty high and get ready to look like an animal as you take off with tons of electric boost. It'll seriously be 0-20mph+ in a few seconds. Be sure to say something cool like "Too soon, junior" (a nauseating quote from the original fast and furious movie) before you boost off. Don't let the boost sound intimidating, it's very controllable and using the brake (again, it works like a traditional bike with a lever over the handle) you can easily come to a stop and it deactivates the generator to help you stop quickly. Using the boost, especially up hills, looks and feels amazing. I was just charging up hills like they were nothing. On lookers not familiar with E-bikes likely assumed I was in just monstrously incredible shape. Not that I'm out of shape, but I digress. Alternatively, you can use only the generator and no pedaling by using the throttle on the right handle. Ever ridden a motorcycle? It's like that. If you haven't ridden a motorcycle, the throttle isn't hard to learn. About an hour into my ride I hit a snag. I heard a clunking sound and immediately pulled over. I heard a hissing sound after I'd stopped and knew immediately it was the sound of air escaping one of my tires. I'd gotten a flat. Wamp wamp. We called Luke and he met up with us about 10 minutes later. He packed up my bike, swapped me into a new one and I was on my way again around the CDA bike trail. Luke told me to add on the time I was down with a flat to our allotted 2 hours. He also didn't charge me for a new tire, simply stating "It happens." Wow, good, understanding, man! Overall, E-bikes are great. During a 2 hour ride, the other riders in my party barely lost any charge on their bikes -- these things can hold a charge for quite a while. You can have the battery assist you as little or as much as you want. See a big, intimidating hill and feeling lazy? Crank up the boost, say your favorite catch phrase, and you'll be flying up that hill with all your energy. If you're pedaling with boost, people will likely think you're an athletic monster (or a cheater, if they know it's an E-Bike). Either way, you'll be up those hills in no time. Luke was super great to deal with. He was very friendly, understanding, helpful and takes great care of his bikes. I highly recommend renting from Electric Adventures. If you're a fan of bike riding and curious about E-Bikes, you absolutely should try one to experience the seamless experience of riding one. The ride around CDA lake is incredible and should not be missed by anyone even marginally interested in bike riding. It's a beautiful trail and a great ride.

Panorama of Coeur d'Alene Lake. Just one of so many amazing views.

My wife and drove in from Washington, 3 hours, to have a nice anniversary adventure. This was our first time in Coeur d'Alene and a bike ride was the perfect way to start off our day. From the second we arrived we were treated so well. The owner made sure we were comfortable, he went over every detail (I'm an experienced cyclist but it was my first time on an e-bike), gave us a map with bike trail laid out, wished us a happy anniversary, and we were off on our 2-hour, 15-mile journey. Absolutely beautiful! We are planning on coming back with our kids very soon. Cannot recommend this highly enough!

Awesome street e-bikes that you can rent from Luke. We had so much fun riding these that we didn't want to give them up!

Luke was absolutely an outstanding joy to work with, going way out of his way to accommodate our schedule changes, provides us with perfect e-bikes, gave us great instructions on how they operate and gave us really great advice on where to go and avoid any problems. Luke also brings the bikes to a central place on all of the CDA trails, where there's plenty of free/safe parking, making it really convenient. Luke's bikes are also unique in that his e-bikes come with fenders, so you won't get mud all over yourself, and an insulated bag attached to the rear rack, so you can store your drinks, gloves, phone, etc. Luke made this a truly awesome experience and we would HIGHLY recommend anyone to rent from him. Electric Adventures is FAR BETTER than any other local bike rental company in the CDA area.

Our son needed a "family" bike to ride with our 6 year old grandson, and Luke was able to meet our needs.

This was an excellent way to spend a couple hours of my day in Couer d'Alene. The owner of the…read morestore asked if I wanted company on my ride and he ended up playing tour guide. It was great because I had never been there, nor ever ridden a Pedago bike, so I was more than willing to have someone ride with me and show me the way to the Centennial Trail and the best sights to see. I'm already planning another weekend getaway back up there to take my mom and sister to Coeur d'Alene and we will definitely be renting bikes from here! If I lived there with all those amazing, I would most definitely buy one.

What a great experience renting ebikes with Pedego. My wife and I had always been a little leery of…read moreebikes but figured we would give it a try with the awesome trail in CDA area. We were not disappointed and definitely will be in the market for an ebike in the near future. Matt was a great help getting us acclimated to the bikes before cutting us loose. Felt very confident after his primer on the bikes and he was kind to show us down to the trailhead. Baubak gave us some great info on the bikes themselves for purchase on return. Very knowledgeable and helpful even though we were just visiting and he knew we would not purchase anything from them. Rates were definitely reasonable to rent and as they were not too busy even gave us some extra time at no charge. If you are on the fence about ebikes definitely give these guys a try. If you are looking for a way to see more of CDA the ebikes were definitely a fun way to do it. Got to see a bunch of a beautiful Saturday afternoon
