We had not met her before, but the compassion and warmth she showed us made a world of a difference in a very sad day. The entire Grand Lake team went above and beyond to provide support to not only Bailey, but to his heartbroken moms during the last few days of his life. They even sent us a handwritten card signed by all the doctors who had met him, which was especially thoughtful and touched our hearts. I took my dogs there for ear infections and flea meds. My female dog had a cyst on her. Initially…read morewhen I asked them about removing the cyst I was told they can't do it and to take her to a surgeon for removal. But the cyst wasn't bothering her, nor was it solid like cancer so I decided to leave it alone. It had been 2 years with the cyst no problem. So I took them in April of this year for the ear infection and flea meds. When they brought her back to me they told me they had drained the cyst. THIS WAS NOT WHAT I BROUGHT HER FOR NOR DID I ASK AT THIS APPOINTMENT!! I asked why they did that and she said the doctor told her it was normal practice which I knew was not! The told me to monitor it and if it got infected to bring her to an emergency clinic. A few days later the cyst was back and larger! It was now hard and filed with blood! I tried to take her to the El Ceritto location and was told they couldn't help her and to call a surgeon. I called and took her around and was getting estimates of about $2800! I couldn't afford that. I called Petvet back and told them and they basically said I'm on my own and wouldn't help me save her. I was deeply devastated. By that time the cyst ruptured and was now a giant hole on her side. Luckily I found Vets In Vans. They quickly put her in antibiotics and got the infection down. Then was able to heal her with meds from the inside out. I spent almost $1000 trying to save my dog. Today I went back simply for a flea med refill and was turned away in the most rudest manor from a white lady with matted hair like a dog, who works there. She yelled at me in front of everyone that they won't see my dogs ever again because of "what I had done before". I was confused because I definitely did complain but was never rude. And in fact I could have complained to the board but chose not to because that was literally the only issue I've ever had with them. But after today's treatment from that lady with the dog matted hair, I am definitely filing! She is the true definition of a Snow Roach and should never be allowed to work with anyone's pet again! I asked for her name, she refused and told me figure it out! Would not give me the manager or owners info to file a complaint. There is also a young African American Woman who was very nice and professional who did take the time to hear me out. But she also denied what had happened saying their clinic doesn't do cysts. I asked her for the paperworkfrom April's appointment and she kindly gave that to me. And that is where I discovered that they actually noted that they drained the cyst I showed it to her and she even looked surprised. So needless to say I'm filing a complaint with the board and a small claims court claim as well!

Our last visit was even moved forward, and the front desk was very prompt and courteous about accommodating the change. Staff is respectful, prompt, knowledgeable, and professional. Highly recommend to any pet owners in the area.

I was later told that her blood results were all over the place, most likely because the sample had been compromised, yet I was not offered a retest or refund. The urine and fecal tests I paid for were not completed either. My normally healthy dog was also extremely lethargic for several days after the visit, unlike any reaction she has had to previous vaccinations. What has been most frustrating is that I have tried repeatedly since July to speak with Dr. Ossiff about my concerns and have never received a call back. More than two months later, I'm taking my dog back to her previous veterinarian to have her senior testing done again because I no longer feel confident that she received the screening I paid for. I tried to resolve this directly with the clinic before posting a review, but after months without a response, I'm extremely disappointed in both the care and the follow-up.

I've also been referred for way more expensive procedures that I didn't think were necessary. Finally, we were referred to Dr. Richter. He listened to my dog's history, understood my thinking, told me it made sense, and told me he understood the pathway I wanted to take. For once, I wasn't automatically crazy or a "helicopter" pup parent. He really gets it. Dr. Richter had a very reasonable grasp on my dog's history and the reasons for his issues. I am so looking forward to continuing treatment with him in the coming months, focusing on the gut and on my dog's past mold exposure. I can't say enough about what it means to be truly heard and understood by a vet, and have them speak to you on a well-informed level. Dr. Richter is not only brilliant, he also has excellent people skills. Most vets try to talk down to me or put me in my place when I come with as much info as I do, and that gets me nowhere, just burning my bank account and morale. After my dog's cytology results came back, Dr. Lampart called me after the clinic had already closed. In her voicemail, she sounded saddened and asked me to call her back within an hour, but she deliberately gave me no indication of what the results actually were. I immediately called back well within the hour she requested, only to discover the clinic routed all after-hours calls directly to voicemail. I left a message immediately. She never called me back. The next day, after repeatedly calling the clinic trying to get answers, I finally learned the truth: my dog had an extremely aggressive form of cancer. The way this was handled was inexcusable. The voicemail made me think there was still hope. Instead, the results had already been received, and I spent nearly an entire day anxiously waiting while the clinic withheld a diagnosis that turned out to be devastating. If you're going to tell someone to call back within an hour, you should either answer the phone, check your voicemail, or make arrangements for someone else to deliver time-sensitive results. Instead, I was left wondering while my dog had a rapidly progressing disease. After learning the diagnosis, I specifically requested to work with another veterinarian because I no longer felt comfortable communicating with Dr. Lampart. Rather than respecting that request, the clinic spent over a week delaying medications my dog desperately needed. I repeatedly requested prednisone--a medication commonly used to improve comfort and, in cases like my dog's, potentially provide additional weeks or even months of quality life. Instead of acting with urgency, I was repeatedly told they were waiting for approval from the very veterinarian whose handling of this situation had already destroyed my confidence. Every day matters with an aggressive cancer. When I finally expressed my frustration and said their delays were costing my dog precious time, the receptionist immediately became defensive, told me she would not be spoken to that way, and informed me a manager would be calling me. There was no empathy. No acknowledgment of why someone might be emotional after being told their dog is dying. Just defensiveness. This clinic seems to have forgotten what veterinary medicine is supposed to be about. People don't bring in a pet--they bring in a family member. We trust veterinarians not only for their medical expertise but also for their compassion, communication, and professionalism during the hardest moments imaginable. I spent thousands of dollars on diagnostics, treatments, and medications. The least I expected was timely communication, empathy, and prompt medical care when every day counted. Instead, I experienced poor communication, delays in treatment, a lack of urgency, and staff who appeared more concerned with defending themselves than helping a dying animal. I cannot recommend this clinic to anyone who values clear communication, compassion, or timely care. Losing a beloved pet is heartbreaking enough. No family should have to fight the very people they're paying to help them while their companion's time is slipping away.

Also, the crew was very friendly to our dogs and made them feel more relaxed. They are busy, so sometimes appointments are pretty far out. If they give you the option, they can place you on a waiting list and if anyone cancels you get a text for that available appointment. Been taking my Labrador Retriever Betsy here for two years now, and we love them!!! I've seen both…read moredoctors depending on their availability and they're both fantastic, but mostly we have worked with Dr. Gill. She is soo patient, thorough, and extremely dedicated. I've even received emails/calls from her with Betsy's test results when she's not in the office on her days off--you can tell she really cares. And all the techs are AMAZING!!! Betsy was afraid of the vet at first, but thanks to the techs being so patient and goofy with her, now she saunters right on in and hops confidently on to the scale. People always complain about unexpected vet bills in general which is SO understandable...All I can say is the prices here seem VERY reasonable. Everything they do "in house" is very well-priced in my opinion, including operations like spaying--it only gets pricier if they have to send a certain specialty test out to a 3rd party company, but they obviously have no control over that since they're not the ones setting those prices. And Dr. Gill will always give you her honest opinion of what tests are actually more necessary versus more "optional." As far as the front office/scheduling goes, communication is always EXTREMELY smooth, and they are very friendly and efficient. They not only work tirelessly but they are honest and kind. I have learned the hard way in life to not trust people or take them at their word. I have been overcharged and misled too many times. You can trust Dr Yang's advice 100%. He keeps it real but not pushy. Ask his honest opinion and he will give it in a kind way. He has the courage to tell you when it is time to let go and end your best friend's suffering. My only complaint is that the word is out on these lovely people. They are BUSY. Be patient. Communication is excellent and they respond to emails and phone calls/voicemails within 24 hours, which gives us so much peace of mind as pet parents. My husband and I recently added a second dog to our family, and although we moved a litter further, we still make the trip all the way from Pittsburg just to come here because the care and service are worth it.
