I visited today and was waited on by Rhonda. She was wonderful. She was helpful, pleasant, and very capable. I was very pleased and recommend them/her for all the accolades that I can present. After immediately being greeted when we entered the front door, each visit was completed within 10-15 minutes. What a treat!!! I cannot say enough about what a GREAT JOB the staff at CSLO does. A+++. The young girl just laughed and picked up her phone. The old lady yelled the next number before I even had the chance to say a word. Do your self a favor and go to the one in Jeff City or on Grindstone. AVOID THIS PLACE LIKE THE PLAGUE!!! It is dirty, dark, dank, and smelled of weed and BO!

While there today, renewing my license, there was an older woman with a slight accent doing something similar. I was shocked at how this woman was being treated. The DMV employee was acting impatient and said some demeaning things. Clearly, the customer has driven in Missouri for a number of years and is proficient in the English language. Despite this, the DMV worker repeatedly asked if the customer "knew her ABC's" as she was taking her vision test. I have reason to believe that the instructions were unclear or the machine not functioning properly, hence why the customer was confused and taking a little extra time. Thankfully, a different employee stepped in and took charge of the situation, offering to check out to make sure the machine was working. Still, I think the customer was embarrassed since her situation was visible and audible to several others in the building. I am ashamed, sad, and angry to see this treatment at the DMV.

That said the driver's license office is one of my least favorite places to go. I don't like to wait in lines and the new one in Chesterfield is a bad place. I had to drive out to my farm to take care of something on a Tuesday and knew I would be driving right past the Owensville, MO driver's license office so I brought the Real Id requirements with me and decided to give it a go there. I walked in around 11am and there was one older couple being waited on by both clerks. Score! I'm next. The lady who helped me looked over everything I had to make sure I had everything necessary and then asked me to have a seat while she got everything processed. She was polite and efficient. She was clearly a busy body and asked numerous personal questions to ascertain what I was doing in her office when I clearly lived in St. Louis County. I expect that in this small town and eventually I gave in after she realized my last name was the same as my uncles' who she apparently sees every morning at breakfast! Real ID ordered and one more thing to check off my list. It was $12 since I was replacing a current driver's license and not renewing as mine doesn't expire for four more years. I'll be back!

In my past experience here, I didn't have all the paperwork they require. But this time, I brought everything but the kitchen sink. I really think it would be helpful if they had a person to check people in and check their paperwork before being called on. Nothing worse than waiting and then being told you don't have the right documents. I think that would lessen the frustration. Anyhow, my experience was fine.
