I'm half-tempted to give this place 3 stars for the horrible service and severe lack of attention to language barriers with some of the staff. The prices are nothing to giggle at, either.
BUT, I will admit, it is a freakishly Instagrammable place; if a bit on the pink side. The interior is small, yet cozy, with extra (protected) seating outside for those not-so-unbearable days. If it's your first time here, you'll probably wish you had four stomachs, and a deeper-than-average wallet to allow for extra splurging; everything on this menu sounds like something a princess would eat. With £15 Sapphire Lattes, £9 Rose Spanish Lattes, and cake slices that are just as pricey, this isn't your typical cafe; but the desserts and drinks are so pretty, you just may find it worthwhile.
They do say this is one of London's most Instagram-worthy spots; however, unless you have special permission to take a shot of the interior when there's nobody there, or if you happen to snag a seat in front of one of their neon signs and flower-covered walls, you'll more-than-likely take a bunch of pics of people in mid-bite.
Would I say that the food and drinks are worth the price? For aesthetic purposes, yes. For flavor and quality, not really. I mean, they taste good, but what makes so many of them yummy is just a bunch of condensed milk mixed with some flower petals. I will say that the balance is there- for those of you with a sweet tooth- and it is a nice treat, any day of the week. Also, I must admit, those eggs on pink sourdough toast was pretty darn good, given its simplicity. Could have done without the pomegranate seed garnishes, though. read more
