Then, Michelle was recommended to me by a friend and I am so happy I decided to go with her. Logistics - From the beginning, Michelle was very clear and professional when providing information regarding price and services (ie location, travel time, number of girls needing services/artists needed etc.) After I booked with her, it was very easy to communicate on my vision. She would ask questions and for inspiration photos to make sure we're on the same page. She also did the same thing for my bridesmaids and mothers (which I have never experienced as a bridesmaid in previous weddings). We all sent her pictures and inspirations so when the day came Michelle and her team were familiar and ready. Regarding scheduling, she sent a preliminary schedule based on my ready by timeline and was accommodating to adjust when my schedule changed the week before the wedding day. All in all, even though I was nervous about the overall wedding planning process, when it came to hair and makeup, Michelle put me at ease through the planning, and I knew I was able to be confident and relaxed when the big day is here! In terms of the actual makeup and hair styles - The amount of care and detail Michelle has for her craft really comes through. I did a trial with her before my wedding day, and we started the trial based off the inspirations I sent her. However, as we all know every girl's feature is different and the makeup style may work on one person but not the other, and, Michelle really takes this into consideration. As the trial went on, she would explain and adjust each step, making sure the style is what I'm looking for and is also fitting to me. As for my hair, she listened and knew what to do when I described what I wanted. And the best part is, my makeup stayed all the way from 1pm through 3am. That's more than 12 hours! And I even kept my hair through the next day and it still stayed. :D SO, in summary/TLDR: Michelle was super helpful through the planning process. Her and her team were all very professional, easy to talk to, and catered to each girl's needs. I am very happy I went with Michelle for my wedding day. She has glammed me up for family photos, graduation photos, weddings, and countless other special events, and she has never disappointed. One of the biggest reasons I keep coming back is how incredibly accommodating she is. Many of my events require me to be ready before sunrise, and she's met me at the crack of dawn more times than I can count--sometimes as early as 4:00 AM! Finding someone who is not only willing to do that but also brings such positive energy that early in the morning is priceless. Her studio is so cozy and welcoming that it honestly feels like you're hanging out with a good friend while getting pampered. The conversation always flows naturally, and the entire experience is relaxing and fun instead of rushed or stressful. I also love that she's collaborative. I'll usually bring inspiration photos, and she'll work with me to create a look that fits my style while offering her professional input. She really listens to what you want and somehow makes it even better. And let's talk about how well her work lasts! At my most recent appointment in April for a family wedding, my hair and makeup were finished between 4:00 and 6:00 AM. I then drove from the Rowland Heights area all the way to Las Vegas, spent the entire day and evening celebrating, and my hair and makeup still looked amazing by the end of the night. No touch-ups, no worrying--it held up beautifully through a very long day. Michelle is incredibly talented, dependable, and genuinely one of the sweetest people you'll meet. Unfortunately, bridal showers tend to cater to one ethnicity versus others, and I could not get just any makeup artist. I looked through Denise's portfolio, got her contact information, and looked through her website for a few days. I eventually emailed her to possibly sign a contract. She was very sweet, always answered all of my questions and answered them in a very timely manner, and there were no hidden fees: the contract was very exact. For example, I would pay for parking fees, which is completely understandable. She only provided on-site service instead of a salon. And she could also provide other on-site services if requested beforehand. So, I put in a 50% deposit at the time of signing the contract, and requested a trial session around 4 months before the wedding. She was on-time for the trial session, took a few minutes to set-up, and was ready to go. The trial session calmed me down and I was very confident of her abilities for the wedding. She absolutely knew what to do to make me look beautiful. I paid the full amount of my balance a few weeks before the wedding. She received it without any issue when I mailed in the payment. The day of the wedding, she was on-time. As my hotel wasn't very easy to find, this meant that she gave herself ample time to find the hotel. That's what professionalism is all about. She had to do my maid-of-honor's hair and makeup, my hair and makeup, and my now-mother-in-law's hair. She did a great job on everyone, and everyone could not believe how beautiful I was at the wedding (I know it's almost like a back-handed comment...am I pretty ugly normally?). She even had a little backup kit for me to keep to help touch-up my makeup when necessary. The makeup did last for over 12 hours, with very little touch-up needed. If anything, the curl in my hair was almost gone by the 10th hour, which my bridesmaids were able to curl right back up. She was also super-patient with one of my friends, who had forgotten hairspray, and who asked to use hers. And she was super-patient with the videographer and photographer when they needed to get shots of me getting my makeup on. That sort of patience can be difficult to find. So, Denise deserves all the possible stars she can get. I have absolutely no complaints about her work, she was great to work with, and there were only high regard for her work.
