Ate here on the way home from an Auburn game. My boyfriend and I were driving down the interstate and I was delighted when he suggested the restaurant. I had seen the building on the way down, and it caught my eye then. Inside, the restaurant was busy on a Sunday after church. Everyone was nice and the food was very good. Before late 2025 this place was great with food. Full of flavor. Today its mediocre at best. Customer service is alright but I didnt get sat down for 10 seconds and they already asked what id like to eat. I'd give service a 4/5. The atmosphere is amazing tho. I love the decor. read more

Gross. Restruant smelled like used kitty liter. I had to get up and get my own menus as well as utensils. Salsa wasn't salsa. It was tomato paste. I requested a fresh salsa and it tasted the same. I have eaten at this place before and it was nice...service & food was wonderful. This time wasn't so pleasant. I believe good food and good service should play hand in hand in order for an experience to be a great dining experience. This was the worst service I have EVER received in Sylacauga. The place was busy but my party was in no rush whatsoever. It took about 7-10 minutes to get our drink order. After the waiter brought all of the drinks it took him about 5 more minutes to finally bring the cheese dip and my son's drink. Aside from my son saying he was thirsty...we were still in no big rush. After we received all drinks and our cheese dip we realized we had not been tended to for almost 17 minutes after the drinks hit the table. The manager kept walking by and looking out of the corner of his eye but would never acknowledge us. He took another table's order right next to us that came in about 10 minutes after we did. We decided its best if we pay for the drinks and get out of there. We get to the front and mention that we hadn't been helped. No apologies, no empathy, no care came from the little girl behind the register. She was actually pretty rude. We started to pay for the drinks and she started to charge us for the dip...I found this very offensive considering we were not able to finish the dip. She preceded to argue with me which I thought was astounding considering they hadn't worked this hard to keep us in the restaurant and make about $80-$100 off of our table. To sum it all up, I hope they enjoy that $3.75 cheese dip because they won't last very long with this type of service. That location itself has been a variety of restaurants that didn't quite make it so I expect nothing more from this place with service like that. It is very disheartening that their front end representative has no manners or respect for the customers. Now I regret making the choice to treat my party to Mexican...ended up with pizza for the night. read more

I eat at El Vaquero's on a weekly basis, and enjoy it every time. I have had the tacos, burritos, quesadillas, and nachos, and enjoyed them all. They make delicious chicken for their food, but they also knock it out of the park with traditional stuff like the tacos al pastor, which is a little more expensive, but worth it. Usually, I come in during lunch time and get a lunch special that ends up costing me less than $10, including tip, and I'm always thrilled with what I get. I've been here about ten times since moving to the area, and I have yet to be disappointed in the slightest. The only change I would make is turning Fox News off of the TV. Ew. Luckily, at least the sound isn't on. read more

My wife and I have eaten here twice. Simple diner type atmosphere. I usually have either cheese smothered burrito or fajitas. There steak is real good in those. My wife has quesadilla, tamale, and flautas and she enjoys those. The flaky quesadilla shell with shredded chicken was flawless! There drinks are big and have crushed ice, two thumbs up! I think they struggle with English so it seems like there service is hampered but neither time did I wait very long. Chips and salsa on the table as soon as you're seated. Cheese dip is great. Salsa texture is inconsistent, too watery one time but the flavor was great. Out of 6 or 7 Mexican restaurants between Wetumpka to Childersburg I'll eat here every time. It looks like locals eat here for lunch and the wait staff communicates with them well. read more

This my go too Mexican Restaurant! The best locally, in my opinion. Their proportions are generous, the staff always polite and attentive, and I've never had anything terrible there. I usually get fajitas or nachos. They've even custom made a burrito for a friend of mine! She just said what she'd like, asked what they recommended based on it, and got exactly what she asked for. Their salsa is really good, and their prices fantastic for what they are. They also care about the quality of their food. Last time I ordered fajitas, I asked for no onions. Instead of just thinning out my order like most restaurants might, I got extra delicious piece if pepper and some extra steak, much to my surprise. A word to the wise though: Unless you're planning to share, order a half order or nachos. The servings are huge! read more
