We'd made a reservation in advance and were seated right away when we arrived on a Friday afternoon. The space itself was surprisingly plain and industrial - grey walls, almost no decor. For a place with a menu with so much personality, I was surprised that the interior had almost none. For drinks, I ordered a glass of natural white wine, which was very good.
The 3 of us ordered a bunch of items to share family-style, starting with the Samosas, Paratha Quesadilla, Ceviche, and Camarones Pa'pelar. These were by far the most impressive items of the night! The texture of the Samosas was absolutely perfect, and it was hard to decide if the beef or potato ones were more delicious. The Paratha Quesadilla was such satisfying comfort food and the Ceviche was incredibly fresh and tasty. The Camarones Pa'pelar were super flavorful and the dipping sauce truly blew my mind.
However after this, things went a little downhill for me. The Kuku Poussin was tasty but not as innovative as the appetizer dishes. And unfortunately I just wasn't a fan of the Whole Red Snapper. We also tried two desserts - the Tamal de Chocolate and Chai Tres Leches - but neither one blew me away. The concept of a Chai Tres Leches sounded so good but although the texture was nice, I felt like it was missing some sweetness. Overall though, we still enjoyed our meal and highly recommend trying the small plates!
