HEMET's BEST MEXICAN MARKET! Even though customer service can be spotty on some occasions, I can…read morealways count on the food at Los Altos! I get their refried beans on the regular as they're always fresh and ready to eat. It's $3.99 per each pound and they put the ready made beans in a container for you. Essentially, I'm picking up my dinner and I don't have to cook. The beans are 90% very fresh and flavorful. You can't beat Mexican beans! I'm also an avid pan dulce fan which means I HAVE to at least stop by the bakery up front and pick up a gingerbread pig or Mexican chocolate chip cookie! The bread is made fresh each day and is constantly rotated. I've never gotten sweet bread that's been sitting there all day! It's always delicious and soft. Once in a blue moon, I stop at the in-store restaurant and it's home to some pretty solid food. Locals stand by it and there's plenty of seating in the dining area. The carnicería (meat market) is long and offers a variety of seafood, meats and more. I usually don't grab anything from there but it's definitely popular. As for ambiance, a lot of the folks I encounter are borderline depressed or troubled. I've never gotten a truly rude person, but the situation here with the staff is a bit awkward. Anyways, overall I suggest this market, it's clean and dependable! Pick up some Mexican bread!

I've been sleeping on this spot, but not anymore! Absolutely delicious, great quality and obviously you're getting your money's worth. For 65 weeks got 2 monster burritos, a cali burrito, and an asada fries. All were amazing! The fries, like the burritos can feed two people easily! The salsa is sooo good too!! Definitely a new found favorite!!

There was plenty of parking. When you walk in, you immediately see their eating area with 3 small tables. The inside was nice and clean. There was a small selection of fresh meats and a few aisles, maybe 4 or 5, with other products. I did end up getting a $5 carne asada mulita and a $4 pork tamale to go. The mulita was a bit bland and was a little skimpy on the meat. The tamale looked like it was store bought, not made in-house; nothing special. I like mild to medium salsa; what I was given was a bit spicier and needed salt. Service was nice, pleasant. As I paid and left, they said "Thank you for coming." I'm sure they appreciate all customers they can get. It's nice to know there are some small businesses hidden in the neighborhoods. I try to support them as much as possible.

On 3/20/26 around 6:15 PM, I asked an employee named Jessica for help locating a product. She repeatedly tried to walk away, refused to assist me, ignored a photo of the item, and even misrepresented what another employee said when I asked her to clarify. Another customer had to step in because she would not help. What concerns me most is the clear difference in how customers are treated depending on who they are and what language they speak. Under California Civil Code § 51 (Unruh Civil Rights Act), all customers are entitled to full and equal accommodations, advantages, facilities, privileges, and services regardless of race, ethnicity, or language. My experience fell far below that standard. This store publicly promotes its mission and values about respect, inclusion, and community -- but the behavior I experienced does not reflect those values at all. It feels misleading when the branding says one thing, but the customer service shows something entirely different. I've submitted a formal complaint to corporate because this is not an isolated incident. I'm speaking up not only for myself, but for the many customers who may not feel comfortable asserting themselves. Everyone deserves basic courtesy and equal treatment, and no one should feel like an underdog in a grocery store.
