They have a huge menu with 15 meat choices to choose from. And despite offering a variety of dishes, they maintain both quality and yummy factor. Menu includes salad, breakfast and tortas. Fountain drinks, bottle drinks and horchatas for drinks. Free chips and salsa bar with at least 5 salsas to choose from: creamy jalapeno, habanero, 2 reds and a tomatillo. Big dining area. Nice friendly staff. Even though it's a sit yourself type of resto, the staff are going around to check on the diners if they need anything or to take empty plates away. Good deal for the price, portion, quality and yummy factor.

I ordered 3 carnitas tacos and a value menu bean and cheese burrito. *be sure to say value menu if that is what you want. It's about a $6 difference. When I sat down to eat, the carnitas were on the dry side. They needed salt and plenty of salsa and lime, which they put on the side and inside the box. The bean and cheese burrito was a pretty good size for the value size. However, the beans were very plain. Not much seasoning. I wont let this detour me. It was late and just an off night. I have really enjoyed coming here on all my past visits. Their food is savory and delicious... their latest Taco Tuesday prices for street tacos are only $1.50 each!

Unfortunately after many months of waiting for them to open, we will not be going back. The wait was long ( understandably ) accurate wait times no complaints on that. Once we were sat down a hard working busser brought us our drinks, chips and salsa. After patiently waiting for around 25 minutes we still were not waited on. When I went up to the front to ask for a server the host stated we should have one and she will go get them. After another 10 minutes of hearing them banter about who was actually our server, the bartender finally came over to help us. Mind you we were not anywhere near the bar for him to have to help us. Now everyone was sweet and working hard, but unfortunately the food was mediocre, service was crappy, and greatly sadden that a place in auburn will fail again. I will not be recommending this place to anyone as a great spot in auburn. Hoped for the best, unfortunately was let down greatly. read more

I love this place, best tasting carne asada anywhere. but, yesterday i got a steak quesadilla doordashed and let me tell you... I had to wonder if the chef was having an existential life crisis. No guac, no sour cream ( both are usually included) and they forgot my entire side dish, beans rice, corn cake. and, it was cold when it got here, as well as only half of it was sliced, there was a huge piece in there that could of been cut two more times. listen, i get it, some times places have an off day, but how bout they not when im dropping $28 bucks on a quesadilla. of course yes door dash gave me a small refund, but the few bucks back didnt even come close to fixing my ruined dinner. come on guys, you can do so much better. this is the kind of stuff that makes you look bad and lose customers that have been loyal to you. read more

The first time we visited, they had just opened. Really busy and when we finally got our food, my bacon wrapped Monterey Shrimp were very overcooked. I didn't say anything due to how busy they were but couldn't eat the burnt pieces. The next we tried was weeks later, early this evening with a to-go order thinking we could beat the rush. I ordered on the website, picked it up an hour later and this time I didn't get the rice and beans that were supposed to come with the $20 order of shrimp fajitas. Oh boy! I should have checked everything was in the 3 individual orders, but I did not. Not sure I will go back a 3rd time, th food is ok but there are better restaurants that get the orders right everytime. read more

I recently tried the 3 meat mixed Molcajete and I must say, it was good! The flavors were amazing and I thoroughly enjoyed it. However, I personally wasn't a big fan of the shrimp included in the dish. Despite that, I would still recommend it. In fact, next time I visit, I'm planning to opt for the chicken and steak Molcajete instead. With all factors considered, I would rate it 4 out of 5 stars. read more

The ambiance was so good, beautiful traditional boots and happy colors used on the wall painting. Before I walked in, I checked out their menu on Yelp. Carnitas tacos is what I was here for and the Yelpers have spoken!! It pretty much says I must come here for the best tacos ever. At the register, I ordered with Jennifer a carnitas taco, asada taco, and she suggested the quesa barbacoa taco. I did say only cilantro & onion for toppings. She put the salsa on the side because she told me it was pretty hot and although I had a Starbucks in hand, she asked if I needed a drink or water cup. Which I appreciated, because I am a huge water drinker! She brought me some complimentary chips & salsa, too. That salsa was tasty! I only waited 5 minutes and Jennifer brought me a plate with 3 tacos, consume, and hot salsa. There was lettuce on 2 of the tacos, although I only wanted cilantro & onion, but oh well. I started with that quesa barbacoa, and dipped it in the consume... ***OOOOOH LORD IT WAS SOOOO ***DELICIOUS!!!! That consume was so good, too, that I could've drank the rest of it, lol The carnitas taco was next. Sooooo GOOOOOD! IT WAS EXACTLY WHAT I WAS CRAVING! I'm not a big fan of carne asada, but I had to try it. It was delicious too! MARIA'S MEXICAN TACOS WILL NOT DISAPPOINT!!!! I've been eating here off and on for *years*. The quality of the food has been very up and down…read morethroughout those years. These last few years the carnitas burritos are really good. It's expensive though. Today I ordered two pounds of carnitas to go and let me tell you, it was expensive! $17/lb. It felt light when he handed it to me. When I got home I doubled checked to make sure I wasn't crazy: only 1lb 5 oz and that was WITH the big plastic container and bag. I was pissed. So I drive all the way back and explain what happened. He really didn't seem to care. And instead of doing the right thing by apologizing and giving me a healthy amount of carnitas to make up for it, he tried to explain they don't actually have a scale, they use the smaller to-go containers and think that's about a pound. Did I mention it's $17 per POUND? So he gives me a little more carnitas (*maybe* maybe not) but he's put it in two smaller heavier to-go containers. I left angry because it still felt light and I was really unhappy with the horrible customer service. When I got home it was still only 1lb 10 oz, so 1 5/8 of a pound WITH the heavier packaging. This is no way to run a business. You don't care if I'm only getting half of what I paid for? I don't care to visit your business anymore and I'm telling everyone I know about this. Next time I drive a few more minutes and go to El Charro.
