I did not find the Mexican food at El Tapatio to be very authentic. It was OK usually when I go to a Mexican place I'm not familiar with. I do the traditional enchilada meal. It wasn't spicy at all. It came in a white sauce for Mexican food, I wasn't familiar with it. I wouldn't recommend it to my friends who love Mexican food, but I can see how many Americans might like the taste there, my friend who took me there he's very particular with his food and he liked it so it was just my opinion. 10/10 I HIGHLY RECOMMEND! We ate lunch here. The food was so delicious. I got two chicken tacos which had the best seasoned chicken inside! The rice had so much flavor! And the beans were not too "heavy" feeling with excess fat like I have had at other places. The salsa they give you is DELICIOUS!! I've never had salsa that good and I eat a lot of Mexican food. Wow wow ! This place is amazing. The server was quick and attentive and very kind. The scenery was detailed every last bit in there ! It was so beautiful ! Also they make home made tortillas !!! Food was great as always. Unfortunately, the service was absolutely atrocious. I will be going back because I love this restaurant and the food is great, however I don't think I'll be back to this location. Forgot multiple items, and when we told the waitress she said ok and still never brought our items. Once the check came we reminded them of the missing items. They finally brought the tortilla ls at the end of the meal so we just took the food home. Didn't get to eat it there, had been over an hour and never received tortillas. Asked for a menu to see desserts, it was never brought. Checks were incorrect and had to be adjusted twice. My friends card was 'accidentally' ran for another tables order and the corrected? How does that even happen? So so so disappointed in the service on my birthday lunch reservation. read more

Good spot. We went mountain biking all day and got lucky with this place on the way home! Right when we went in, we saw all the beautiful and festive decorations. Even the chairs are engraved - overall we were very impressed with the details. Our waitress Jeannette took great care of us. She was helpful, efficient, and quick. Our food was delicious! We were worried about getting enough food because we came so hungry, but some of us didn't even finish our meals!! We ordered quesabirrias, fajita burrito, and fish tacos. All fire. We also got a local beer, knee deep hazy IPA. It paired well with the Mexican food, but next time we're going to get 16 oz instead of the 24 oz. We had a great time! Highly recommend. We chose this restaurant last Friday. 6 of us, every one of our meals, there was an issue I had mole. My chicken was so tough, could not even chew it. One had a combination plate of prawns and different assorted, wonderful things, except 4, they were either cold or overcooked. Maybe for a taco Tuesday sitting at the bar something like that, but we each had a different meal and we each experienced a meal that was cold and not enjoyable ,the beans, the rice good, but you go for the main meal. I'm sorry, but I give this a thumbs down. I will add They took them back happily, but brought them back microwaved. Before my chicken went back to the kitchen, it was tough. I let him know it was cold and the chicken was tough and let him know why heating it up wasn't going to change the chicken. He smiled nice gentleman that did not change my meal. I wasn't hungry but stopped in to eat with friends. Plenty of parking is available. This place was fairly busy. We had to wait a few minutes to be seated...but less than 5 minutes. Our server was on top of her game and did everything fast. Before we knew it, our food was arriving. I just ordered two tacos a la carte...$14! That's pricey in my book. My friend basically got the same thing as a combo for $2 more. The combo came with beans and rice. But the food was just so so. When you have to add salt, pepper, and salsa to your food, something's not quite right. But overall it was OK. If I'm ever in this area again looking for Mexican food, I'll definitely try someplace else first. But maybe you'll like it here. So be your own judge on this one. read more

Always great food. Prices have increased but you always have leftovers. We have been there over 250 times in the past 7 years.

The food was good, but it was too salty. We barely managed to eat half of our dinner. We couldn't drink enough water during our ride home. The chips, salsa, and refried beans given when we arrived were very tasty. The restaurant was clean, the atmosphere was pleasant, and the service was great. This was our first time eating here. The food and service were both amazing. They were extremely packed but had our food out 10 minutes after ordering. Our server was very attentive and gave us some recommendations which we loved. He recommended the shrimp tacos, and they were absolutely delicious. Came in for a quick lunch. Was presented w chips and salsa AND a bean dip topped grated cheese (see photo). Wanted top shelf margarita that was perfect - not too sweet and the tequila flavor shone through. I had the lunch special which, for Tuesday, was two enchiladas. The server told me they make their enchiladas in a unique way...OMG didn't even take a picture of the enchiladas- I've never had one where they do a quick fry at the end to finish. It's an enchilaco- enchiladas crossed w tacos! I'm not sure everyone would prefer it but I loved it! It added a nice crunch where classic enchiladas can be a bit mushy. Had the entire room to ourselves. Wait staff was very attentive to our needs and even offered to turn the heat up after noticing a couple of us were cold. This place is very festive and colorful. In so far as the food, I grew up on Mexican food, I'm picky. We had finished hiking, wanted to have a sit down for dinner, and nothing fancy. This place fit the bill This isn't the best Mexican but it isn't the worst either. Service seemed rushed and busy, wasn't the best. Plenty of free parking with clean restrooms. We had a 14-person birthday party for my brother's 74th birthday. Our server, who as I recall was Mario, was efficient but friendly, patient with some of our party who have trouble making up their mind or have communication problems. The food was very good, the Happy Birthday song was boisterous, the "boutique" balloon animal maker was talented, and the time from order to delivery was amazing given the size of the party. Staff were extremely pleasant and prompt, decor throughout the restaurant was new, with lovely Mexican tiles and decorations. Our server, Cruz, was delightfully pleasant and efficient. We ordered Hector's Platter for $28.99 and split it. Before it arrived we enjoyed the fresh, warm tortilla chips, which were served with mild salsa and a small cup of retried beans. Both the salsa and the beans were very tasty but also lacked texture. I would have liked something more than a purée in the beans. Leave me an actual bean or two!! Same thing with the salsa...a few more chunks of onion and tomato would have been welcome. Hector's Platter includes carne asada, bacon-wrapped prawns, refried beans, Chile relleno, pico de Gallo, guacamole, tortillas and a ball of that corn stuff. It was plenty of food for two, and everything was delicious! The carne asada was a standout with the grilled onions and meat both nicely charred. The prawns were large and wrapped in flavorful bacon. Drinks were 16-ounce (24-ounce beers are available). The wife and I both enjoyed our 9-month wedding anniversary meal very much. We will be back!' read more
