Ordered chicken tacos and got steak tacos. Called and let them know the order was wrong. They told us they ran out of chicken.

Now "Mi" soul is in tact…read more I groaned when the waitress brought my platter much sooner than expected. It was almost a painful groan as I instinctively grabbed my phone and snapped the picture you see below. Sssshhh. It is very quite in this little stand (I use "stand" as a term of respect), and there are only muffled spanish-speaking voices as backdrop allowing you to study the menu. Get tacos. Do not experiment. They are proud of them and you don't ask a plumber to do your electrical work. Need we belabor this point? Don't sit down too fast. Check the chilled salsa and salad bar just to your right. It has onions, cilantro, pickled onions, tomatillos, tamatoes, and around 4 various sauces including the green tomatillo (which could be confused with miracle science). Remember the rule. REAL taco stands like this are so proud of their meats alone that they NEED NOT include a chilled veggie bar (that just makes it a wilder and more passionate experience). Taco 1 (Marinated Pork). Call your nearest friends and neighbors for this one. Better yet, call your Priest as this will get you emotional and in need of someone sensitive to resolve your feelings about it. It's essence drips into the recently-pulled-from-the-oil corn tortilla and creates something magical. Taco 2 (Carne Asada). Shredded and delectable little slivers wrap the pickled onions and make the cold regular onions room temp in a warm embrace. Taco 3 (Chorizo). Like Liotta said in Goodfellas, "Fuuuuhgett about it." Note: Authentic tacos do not have cheese. Facts are hard. No cheese lovers allowed. You should only come here if you want to test your Mexican cuisine acumen.

They have a salsa bar as well as many fresh pastries. We had the quesabirria taco special and a chicken quesadilla. No pastries today because we were so full, but next time! We almost thought they were closed, but business seems to come in waves. Service was very quick, especially for there to only be one person working. Highly recommend stopping by to patronize this local business.

Authentic as they come and I was not prepared for the portion sizes so I went a little overboard…read more That's fine - I took the leftovers home to my family. Giant quesadilla, chips & queso (don't get that, it was so watery. Even they prob looked at me like "you sure about that?") No frills lunch spot full of locals. Anything you get - besides the queso - is pretty fantastic.

Unassuming and casual "hole in the wall" that serves authentic Mexican cuisine. When searching the…read morearea, I found many popular Mexican spots that clearly weren't the real deal. I can't stand unauthentic, bland tacos. Thankfully, Taquería Muñoz provides delicious Mexican delicacies in a warm, homey environment. The staff are all kind and work hard to ensure customers are satisfied. Structure wise, I suggest signs be posted to say where the trash cans are. If you're sitting near the order area, you may not notice them. As a result, many customers left their trash at the tables for staff or upcoming customers to clean. I personally loved the sides bar to pick and choose the amount of salsas, cilantro, onions, and other toppings you want. I ordered a chicken tamale with 3 tacos- carnitas, al pastor, and pollo. Of course, the pastor was my favorite- I just wish pineapple slices were included. The pollo wasn't bad, but I wish it had more flavor as it tasted basic to me. The carnitas were not bad. Honestly, the salsas and fresh toppings really made it for me. The tamale was just okay, but with all the fixings and salsa verde specifically it was great. Their agua frescas come in HUGE portions. I got a peach agua fresca which was very sugary yet tasted like fresh peach purée. Overall, decent agua fresca. I just wish the pineapple one was available when I was there. This is the most legit Mexican you'll find in the area. It's definitely worth a try. The salsas really make it taste amazing. Is it the best I've ever had? Not quite. Is it very good considering the area? Absolutely, yes.
