I stopped by Tacos Hidalgo and ordered a quesadilla and 5 tacos supreme and I have to say the food…read moreitself was really good. The flavor was on point easily a 9/10. The meat was well seasoned the tacos were loaded and the quesadilla was cheesy and satisfying. Definitely the kind of spot you go to when you're craving solid tacos that actually hit the spot. The only reason I'm leaving 4 stars instead of 5 is a couple small things. They don't automatically give you any salsas which was surprising because most taco spots will at least throw in a few. Also I paid with a credit card and there was a $2 charge on a $25 order just for using a card. That said the food quality really carries this place. If you're looking for flavorful tacos and a good quesadilla this spot delivers. Just be aware of the card fee or bring cash and make sure to ask for salsas. Overall still a place I'd come back to for the food.

I even mentioned that I was willing to purchase extra salsa if needed but we still only received one. The service also wasn't the friendliest which made the experience a little disappointing. I might come back because the food itself wasn't bad, but next time I guess I'll have to bring or make my own salsa beforehand!

Hey Marco, I've seen…read moreyou in that corner for a while now. I finally came back to give you a try... And wow these are pretty good... and avocado on everything? that's my kryptonite. How did you know and why didn't you say so earlier? Avocado makes everything better. Also makes the value more palatable. Usually when I go to Taco Trucks, my way of evaluating how good the food is by seeing how they make Carnitas (is it a good mix of crunchy edges and warm juicy meat). I also like to try to Pastor since everyone makes that one a little bit different. I usually don't judge the Carne Asada, bc generally the kind of meat used is kind cheap and not as good. But... I think Carne Asada is my favorite here. It's different. not chunks or strips, but diced into almost ground beef size. Yes it doesn't sound good, but it just works bc it's crunchy. Call me crazy but somehow it works. I like it. Either way, the Avocado helps up the ante. You are... in my top 3 tacos in Merced. Not #1 tho :). Not gonna say who that is here... Oh get over it.
