They have a nice size pool and bar within a beautiful courtyard with great loungers, tables, and chairs. If there is no one behind the bar they have an honor system that you can write down what you chose. They have everything from non-alcoholic beverages to top shelf, premium spirits. There is a jigger there if you are making yourself some thing so you can be exact on what you took. In the afternoon when there are a few guests enjoying the sun, they do have someone actually coming around to the pool while you are in it asking if you would like anything. They have a Jacuzzi that is available that is right on the river. One just needs to ask them to turn on and give them a half an hour to get it at a perfect temperature. They have a choice of breakfast in the mornings at a fair price. Our room with spectacular, with wonderful rounded tall ceilings, and beautiful stained glass on parts of the top, I believe it was called the countess. If you are looking for a charming, not big hotel feeling this is the place for you. I will stay there when I go to Puerto Vallarta again.

The best part about the walk is that you can dip in and out of a number of beaches along the way. We had planned to walk down to one of the multiple beaches within a 5 minute walk of the property on our second day but stopped at the pool and ended up staying there for the day because of how beautiful the ambiance was with views to match. During the remainder of our stay, we bounced around between the pool, the town and the basically private beaches just down from the property that we'd hang out at for sunset and most of the time, literally have the beach to ourselves for hours! We were lucky enough to stay in 2 different rooms during our stay by choice and each were incredible. Steve and Terri are wonderful hosts and the breakfasts are magnificent! Self-serve honor system bar was definitely a plus for convenience. Terri also helped out with setting up our travel to and from the airport both ways making the trip very carefree... just what we were looking for! Can't wait to go back!!!

We happened to be the only people staying at the Bed & Breakfast so it made it quite a unique experience! We flew into PVR & rented a Honda CRV through Gecko, at the recommendation of Terri. I mention the CRV, because the house is in the jungle. You do feel like Indiana Jones driving through the jungle, looking for landmarks & finding the Hacienda. The Hacienda is just a short walk from a private lovely beach. The day we spent there - we were the ONLY people we saw for 8 hours. It was paradise. Teri cooks delicious breakfast each morning. And they were different every day! The pool is lovely & next to the pool is an honor bar. Steve will teach you how to make an excellent margarita & then from there you are on your own. It's a fully stocked bar and you just keep a tally of whatever drinks you make yourself. There was a TV & a DVR player in our room. There is WiFi but there is no cable. They do have a collection of DVDs you can choose from, or you can stream things on your computer -- but there is so much to do outside, why would you need TV? :) We'd absolutely recommend this place to our family & friends, and stay here again! Two things you will want to know that are a little unexpected, but by no means a negative, -- 1.) they do have rescue dogs on their property. These dogs are wonderful, friendly, and the majority of the time stick to themselves. We engaged them quite a bit because we love dogs. So they, Garbot in particular, would sometimes hang out with us when we were on the patio & in the pool. We loved it! 2.) the Sayulita downtown Plaza is not easily walkable. It is about 2 miles & would be through a hilly jungle if you walked. Sayulita has taxis if you wanted to spend time in the downtown. We rented a car because we enjoy having autonomy about where to go. Just a little post-script, Steve gives excellent recommendations about places to go if you want to explore more than Sayulita. My boyfriend & I even fit in a mini Mexico roadtrip!

Such a deal as it was in a quiet residential neighborhood but within easy walking distance to popular restaurants and bars as well as the Malecon. For three nights, we stayed on the second floor in the purple and gray Korvette room which had a comfortable Queen bed and a nice balcony overlooking the river. It was a bucolic woodsy setting with birds chirping and the sporadic rumble of motor scooters below us. The entire hotel was decorated to the hilt with eccentric bric-a-brac that must surely reflect the eclectic taste of the owner. The hotel's homey vibe extended even to the house cat who had its own Victorian brass bed. We took advantage of the complimentary margaritas available upon arrival. The bartender was up on the rooftop terrace on the seventh floor. The sunset view was spectacular, and there was a small lap pool that looked inviting had it been able to accommodate more than one swimming guest at a time. RELATED - Exploring Puerto Vallarta? My eyes were glossing over after a long flight and I was bracing myself for a tough interaction because of all the rules of the house and how tough he came across. When we needed him he was more than accommodating but he definitely stayed out of the way which I appreciated very much. This really helped us enjoy our vacation to the fullest.

Palms everywhere, a beautiful view of the ocean, from which I caught multiple sunsets, and a really idyllic setting in every way. The rooms were also beautiful, and the hosts had thought of every little detail, glass paneled doors and tapestries decorating the interior. The service every day was fantastic. We arrived to margaritas, a special treat Max threw in for our birthday boy and to start off the week right! We woke up to eggs and coffee in the mornings, and came home to the entire palacio spruced up and ready for more relaxing. For those of us who had to toss in a couple hours of work during the week, the wifi was super fast. And of course, the palacio was in the most perfect location of Zona Romantica, right in the middle of all the spots we'd ever want to be. The beach was right there, and Max and Siggy had great recommendations for the best beach spots! Also right there were a huge range of cute restaurants, amenities (ATMs, etc all that important stuff you need on vacation) and the downtown gay bars and club district. Finally, there were a bunch of day trips and adventures to take for the more active in our group. Max and Siggy helped us explore the area to its fullest. They had personal relationships with a lot of the locals and could get us great hookups for whatever we needed. I couldn't recommend this place more. If you're in a group like we were, it was perfect to rent the whole house, so make sure to make your plans for months in advance because this place is gonna be booked. Thank you Max and Siggy for a lovely week, it was great to get to know both of you!
