I was not expecting this place to blow my mind on a random Tuesday evening. But after trying to finish a very large burrito from here I am happy to report, that yes, life will surprise you from time to time. Felt like a shrimp burrito tonight and a quick Yelp check said they make good ones. I called in to order a regular shrimp burrito, no beans, more rice and some onions and bell peppers to add dimension to the shrimp and rice only filling. Janet the lady who took my order on the phone was easy to communicate with and the burrito was exactly as per my order. When I arrived to pickup they told me to help myself to the salsa bar. Now I've been to enough Mexican places to know that the salsas are not always noteworthy. But since it was my first time here I picked up both the red and green salsa to try, and I'm so glad I did! Got home and opened up the foil and I can honestly say the size of this burrito intimidated me. I mean it was so big that I couldn't really hold it up to eat . I actually opened it up and ate from it by making small bites out of all the goodness. The rice was perfectly cooked and seasoned. The pico de gallo was ok. The onions and bell peppers added good flavor and texture. But the shrimp, it was huge and plentiful! I tried both the salsas and was surprised by how good they were. The red I ate with the burrito and the green was perfect with the tortilla chips. For the price this has to be the best value burrito I've had in a while. There is no seating inside this very small business, but it has 2 tables set out in the front for anyone who wants to eat there. They've even put up a shade to cover over the tables. I honestly wish this place remained a secret so it wouldn't get crowded and food quality wouldn't change, but I also know this place deserves all the recognition and praise it can get.
My partner lives in the Hayward area and said this is a must-try place based on what her friends have said. As a burrito enjoyer, I said okay lets go get it. we ordered 2 Lengua super burritos and some shrimp tacos for her roommate. She went to pick it up and said the place was a bit packed with the FIFA game on, but was fast to pick up. When she brought it back, I was pretty amazed; compared to SF burritos, this was larger, about 1.3x larger! I can normally finish my SF burritos but I had to take a quick break in between to get this one down. The Lengua was on point, rice, beans, salsa, guac, and everything in the super made it delicious. And the red (I believe habanero sauce) is a great kick if you're looking for that extra fire! This is definitely a great burrito joint, and I'd highly recommend coming to get one here!

Hard to finish and heavy. Probably one of the heaviest in weight I have had . Totally recommend and I'm for sure coming back to try the other meats .
Only came here for their horchata to wash food down. They only had large cups at the time but $5 for this size is great! The drink itself felt very powdery though. More powdery than I'm used to. It didn't settle at the bottom but just throughout the drink.
After a failed attempt to get my burrito fix at El Farlito in SF, I was still craving for a burrito. I often stick to the same order here - brisket super burrito because it never fails me. It's $15-16 for a huge burrito. First bite was OMG, heaven... it's greasy but it hits the spot. The "burnt" bits of the meat was SOOooOoo good. They made it really good today. Flavorful and juicy. They pack it in with all the fixings (sliced avocados, salsa, sour cream, beans, rice and loads of meat. I had to stop myself from eating too much or I'll go into a food coma. It's shareable for sure. Legit would put this burrito on a list of one of my last meal on earth situation.
Been here multiple times. The Service is great here. I love the super burrito it is relatively affordable but the size of it makes it so worth! I also got the chilaquiles which were super tasty. I like how there is a sauce bar off to the side for pickled onions/carrots and lime you can load up on. Vibes are great no indoor seating but plenty outdoor. Parking shouldn't be an issue either
This place is only a 5 min drive from my house so it's def one of my to go spots for a burrito whenever I crave one. I always get the super burrito with carne asada, grilled! Ask them to grill it so the tortilla is extra crispy. It makes the burrito even better! For $15.50, you really get what ya paid for. The thing is like the size of my forearm! I have to split it in 2 meals and it tastes even better the next day after heating it up. They have a self serve salsa bar as well. Highly recommend checking them out if you're in the area.

Growing up in Oakland, I always enjoyed Mexican food there, and when I moved to Hayward a few years ago, I was always looking for a new Mexican restaurant to eat at. I've been to a few spots here in Hayward, and they were merely decent. But the other day, I stumbled upon an Instagram video of a woman reviewing this restaurant and just from the video alone, I knew I had to try it. Upon arrival, the service was great, it was quick and the cashier up front was nice. The restaurant had a nice ambience to it, there's decorations all over it and there's some cool artifacts around as well. I ordered a Super Burrito, which comes with your choice of meat, Avacado, beans, rice, pico de gallo, etc. I removed pico de gallo and kept everything else. From first sight, the burrito is big. Opening it, it looked great and from the first bite, I immediately fell in love with the food. It was delicious, packed with flavor, and had good portions of everything inside of the burrito. After eating the burrito entirely, I can easily but surely tell you all that this is the best burrito I've had in the Bay Area.
Fattest burrito I've ever had in awhile, and it ain't only fat just to be fat bc this shit hits the spot all the time ! This spot deserves way more attention, but I don't mind it being hidden
I've ordered from this place several times and usually have a good experience, which is why this was so disappointing. I ordered 3 super burritos, one of them with no rice and light beans. I always order one without rice because they usually put way too much rice for my liking. This has never been an issue before. This time, the no-rice burrito came out literally half the size of the other two burritos and was hella light -- it honestly felt like a kids burrito. No rice should not account for more than half of the burrito! Which is my point exactly as to why I order no rice. I called the restaurant, and the only thing they were willing to do was refund the burrito. While I appreciate the refund, I spent my entire lunch break getting this food, and now I have nothing to eat. A refund doesn't really fix that. I'm not sure why this happened when I've ordered the same way multiple times without any problems, but it was frustrating and disappointing

We ordered the super beef burrito for $17 each, it was so big- could last for 2 meals. It was tasty and delicious. They have salsas in the side, fix it yourself. Service- maybe waited 10 minutes, not bad. They have small tables outside, maybe just for 6 people. No seating inside. read more
Decided to try this place because it was one of the highest rated Mexican spots. Mmm it's decent but not spectacular. It's in a small plaza with good parking, and plenty of customers come and go. They had a sauce bar too! I tried the super burrito, super nachos, and quesadilla. Huge portions, but unfortunately the meat was lacking. read more

Someone had said they had the best burrito in the bay so I had to see what the hype was about. The spot is conveniently close to where I live so i decided to pick up a burrito after a long day at work. It's definitely more of an order to go place because there is no seating inside and they have minimal seating outside of the restaurant. Very small hole in the wall type of taqueria which is fine by me, I did appreciate that they had a small salsa cart as a self serve option (I recommend the green). I think I waited about 5ish minutes for my order which was pretty quick, portion wise the burrito wasn't as long as it was thick, comparable to a chipotle burrito in size and those are pretty thick. I honestly think the burrito could be shared for two, I only ate half. The rice & bean to meat ratio I thought was good but I felt the rice was lacking in flavor and found it a little sweet the meat was just ok for me and slightly greasy. After seeing all the positive reviews I wanted to try this place out. I like to be very honest especially when it comes to Mexican food. I ordered the pambazo and wasn't impressed. Presentation wise it looked very appetizing, but the potatoes weren't cooked all the way which ruined it for me. We also ordered a gordita de chicharrón and the flavors were very bland. I should have just ordered tacos to try them out but I really wanted to find a place that sold good pambazos, so I wouldn't recommend them from here. I ordered agua fresca, horchata and jamaica. This hole in the wall is only a few minutes drive away from our house so we went and tried their beef super burrito for around $15. The burrito was so big and shareable with another person. It was bigger than chipotle's burrito. We ordered takeout but they have some tables and chairs outside, none inside. Service was fast, we got our burrito in 5 minutes. The burrito came with chips and 2 small containers of green and red salsas. The burrito had rice, beef, beans, cilantro, onions, tomatoes and guacamole. Everything was tasty, the rice just needed a little bit more flavor. The chips were very good. The red salsa was very spicy and the green salsa was mild. $15 for the beef super burrito was a good deal. read more

The food here is IMMACULATE as hell! I honestly have had my fair share in eating Hispanics food, but this place has by far has my hear foreals! It's literally in the middle of a bunch of apartment complex, which is WHY you will never run into it at all. WE honestly only found this place, because they are next door to our tax lady and was super hungry from waking up super early to file taxes - LOL! So we stopped by here and it did not disappoint at all. The service is quick and thorough. I wish they had Gordito's because I love those things, but running out of it speaks high volume on how popular they are around this area with them. Loved the ambiance of walking in and ordering and how colorful it is. Me and my husband both had burritos and they use ACTUAL AVOCADO in your burrito and that stole the show. Everything in the burrito is portioned out evenly and every bite, you get each ingredient. I asked for extra sour cream, but that was honestly not needed, but I still ate it ALL! They're salsa bar is what really got me! They're sauces there are A1 to a tee and I will literally drink it to eat with my food. I'm honestly shocked at how no one knows this place, but totally understandable because I don't need everyone up here taking up all the space - HAHAHAA! They are family owned, so be nice and if they're slow, BE PATIENT! You will not regret it at all, I PROMISE! read more

Finally found a good Burrito in Northern California. This place is located in a small strip mall in residential neighborhood. Super Burrito was flavorful with fresh ingredients. Only complaint was tortilla chips, could tell they were out of the bag. However don't prevent that from you checking this spot out, would definitely go back to try some tacos. Friendly staff as well. read more

I got rave reviews about this place so I wanted to give it a try. I liked the salsa in their salsa bar, very good flavor and spice. The food was mediocre. Nothing memorable but decent. I would give it another try since their prices are reasonable. read more
What an amazing hole in the wall, crazy good Mexican food at great prices. Drove up and was disappointed to find that my tamale place was no longer there. Quickly checked yelp and from the photos the tamales looked the same so I wondered if the owners expanded the menu and changed their name. Learned it was new owners however, the previous tamale lady did still come in to make the tamales. Ordered a sope because that's my fave along with a tamale and the Hubbs ordered an Al pastor and carne asada tacos. My sope had freshly made masa and was huge. Took one bite and it was the best sope I've had in a long long time! The Hubbs tacos were loaded with meat and he was Grubbin' as hard as I was. Between bites, all we could said was this is delicious! The new owners were very gracious and nice, and did not skimp on either the food or the condiments. Found this place on a random Yelp search after a Costco run. Hidden in a small plaza near the apartments by MEHS. We ordered their pastor super burrito, chicken super quesadilla, carne asada taco, and horchata to go. I love their salsa bar and I based my taqueria experiences on that alone. Their green and red sauce are delicious and has a stronger kick than most taqueria sauces. Food: -super pastor burrito: super thiccc and long. The rice to meat ratio is on point. A nice touch of sour cream and avocado adds a great depth to their well seasoned pastor. -Super chicken quesadilla: chicken is juicy and moist. Very flavorful. -taco: simple taco with onion and cilantro. But the steak is very juicy and tender. They do not skimp on the portion of the meat! Horchata: refreshing, not as sweet (just how I like it) as most places. Definitely coming back here again to try their other items and meats on the menu. This will be my new go to whenever I am craving Mexican food! read more

Quint mom & pop taqueria in a townhouse community right off of Hesperian. Orders are to go but has a small Outdoor covered gazebo area to sit and enjoy your food on site. Food came our quickly. Super quesadilla ordered with the extra sour cream, avocado and salsa. Daughter and I shared so asked if they can leave one side plain for her. Super burrito was good sized. Super nachos were very filling and tasty. Order was brought to us outside and he came back with iced water without having to ask. Very friendly owners. Young Kids playing inside / outside so you know they take family and work time serious when it's a whole family affair. read more

I was Rolling around Hayward in the Ghetto and got Hungry!!! So I Checked My Yelp Application and this Establishment popped up!!!! So I rolled there!!! I Parked right next to their outside Parklet !!! I rolled in to their Establishment and Perused their Menu!!! They Cater to the To Go Crowd unless you chose to eat in the Parklet out front!!! I Perused the Menu and Ordered 2 Pork Tamales 1 Lengua Super Taco 1 Beef Brisket Super Burrito To Go !!! I paid by Credit Card!!!! Service is Friendly and Efficient!!! I had my Food in 15 minutes!!!! So I rolled home!!! I got my Grub On !!! Food was Flavorful and Delicious !!! Portions were Good!!!! For all these reasons this is a Baller On A Budget Approved Establishment!!!!! read more

I just stopped by for a super burrito since I've been craving one. This is one of the best burritos I have tried in a while the rice and beans taste like homemade! The salsa verde and rojo delicious. That burrito was so thick and delicious. I'm glad I came to try it here. Definitely coming back to try pambazos, torta, tacos, quesadillas de hongos, huarache, and the gorditas de chicharrón! I love food. The service was also very good. Small restaurant they have some seating outside but definitely worth it. Prices are the same as other places I've been to. read more
The king of the taco (El Rey del Taco) has arrived in town! Just a hop and skip away from la casa de mis padres, this is sure to be my go to spot whenever I'm in the area. The run down strip mall El Rey del Taco is located in has definitely seen better days, but don't let this deter you! As a matter of fact, as long as I can remember, this area has always been in the same condition, and it creates more of an authentic hole in the wall feel instead of being too posh. In addition to El Rey, the popular Volcano Island Korean restaurant a few doors down is also a local favorite. Both of these establishments combine to create a rather solid culinary destination in this otherwise non-descript plaza. Furthermore, Lai Young has been an institution for many decades for frozen dumplings and potstickers. As far as El Rey goes, I have so far only sampled the meat platters, and I must say I have been quite impressed! Whichever you choose, whether it's carne asada, pollo, carnitas, etc., portions are absolutely massive! All are extremely fresh and flavorful to boot. Service is polite, but not chatty, and very efficient. There is no indoor seating, as the shop itself is quite tiny inside, but there is a very cute parklet in the lot with room for perhaps ten guests or so. The DIY salsa bar is ample with fresh ingredients, although everything is very exposed when the lid is open, so do be aware of this if it is a concern. I'm always quite excited to return to my old stomping grounds because because there is a plethora of dining options all within walking distance. With that said, in a very short amount of time, El Rey has lived up to its namesake, rapidly ascending to become the new king of the neighborhood! I now have yet another reason to come back for a visit. read more

Easy ordering system online. I personally like their Super burrito grilled chicken, but carnitas is also good. They are generous with the toppings and their burritos wraps are soft. It's worth trying when you're around the area. read more
This place is incredibly good! I couldn't recommend it enough for your new place to grab tacos. We only tried the tacos this time but we will definitely be back to try their other menu items. FOOD What we ordered (super tacos): -Carnitas -Pastor -Lengua -Camaron Everything was delicious! Their selection of salsa and picked vegetables was great. It was covered, cold, and super fresh. The salsas were nice and spicy. The worker brought out the tacos to us in the outside area and also provided water. PARKING The parking is ample and easy to find, there was even a friendly stray cat that we gave some cat treats to! OVERALL: The portion was incredible and satisfying. I can usually eat 3-4 tacos but could barely finish 2 of their super tacos. I would 100% revisit and bring friends along! read more
