Driven by this grocery for years and never been inside. Decided to give it a try since we were having a hard time finding Oaxaca Cheese. Very nice store. Very clean well lit. Had our cheese and my favorite Jarritos Jamica!!

I've had two off putting encounters with the cashier. First time, My boyfriend and I went to the register to check out and we were not greeted. Instead, we were met with a nasty look by the cashier lady. Her expression looked as if she was in a bad mood or that we didn't belong in there. I tried to brush it off as nothing and asked , "How are you today?". She glared at me while frowning and did not respond. She didn't even tell me the total after ringing up all of the items. I don't want to say that was a racist encounter but it definitely felt like it. I decided to give this place another chance today (3-22-24) even though I was having A LOT of second thoughts while in the parking lot. Fast forward, I went to the register to checkout and it was the same lady. She seemed in a better mood today since her expression seemed okay and she greeted me. I noticed Jesus Rosary necklaces and wanted to purchase one. I asked ,"Could I also add the green rosary necklace?". She immediately said "No" and glared at me. I was a bit confused considering that they're on display with prices on them. But I still decided to ask "Oh... are they not for sale?". She did not answer. She handed me my change (I paid with cash). And I left. I won't be going back somewhere where I'm refused items with no explanation with rude cashiers. I would rate this place 5 stars due to having some great juice but you'all are undeserving of that. Treat everyone the same and with respect. I will be spreading the word around about this place. Good luck.

Kroger could never. You can find things at Saraga that you can't find anywhere else in Indy, and…read morefor that, I love this international grocery store. That said, this is not my favorite Saraga. (My favorite Saraga is the one in Castleton.) This Saraga is a little grody, to be honest. But how can you hate on a grocery store that exists in Indianapolis with such an abundance of food from all around the world? Overall, I am so glad this place is here. I visited Saraga not knowing what I was looking for, but was quickly drawn to the Japanese snacks aisle. I saw lots of different flavors of Ramune (that Japanese marble soda), which is my children's favorite, and Pocky, my favorite. Then I went to the seafood aisle and looked at the fish swimming in the aquarium below their unlucky brethren who had been filleted and arranged in the display case. Then I walked to the Mexican food aisle and saw many kinds of Mexican candy. The frozen food aisle had lots of different things, from Indian samosas to Korean vegetable pancakes. The meat aisle is hardcore. But, that's to be expected at an international grocery store. Be prepared to see pig snouts and chicken feet packaged next to less offensive, ambiguous red hunks of meat. This is the place to get bulk rice and beans, imported snacks and produce that you can't find anywhere else, like yuca root and plantains. I love Saraga in general, and this one is good and important to this part of Indy.
