Very helpful staff here. The tacos are $1 each when you get 4 of them. Great deal for a quick meal. Includes cilantro and onions and a very spicy hot sauce.

I DID IT!! REVIEW 22 OUT OF 22 FOR MY NEW YEARS RESOLUTION TO WRITE 22 REVIEWS TO START THE YEAR 2022!!! *** insert dj khaled voice**another one*** I love this chain of super markets. Every time I step inside It takes me back to growing up in Mexico and hearing and smelling the nostalgic of my childhood. Probably my favorite thing is how they decorate everything inside. The fish department has a mural of the ocean with some fish. The juice bar has like a tiki bar vibe with the straw roof. The produce section has those fake trees and underneath it the fruit so it looks like it fell off the tree. The smell of freshly baked bread coming from the bakery is wonderful. The sound of the tortilla machine chirping away takes me back to when me and abuelita would go early in the morning to get fresh tortillas. Second I love the food court area, sometimes me and my parents will go on the weekends to get food there and we will sit down in those picnic tables and eat. Sometimes the little and simplest of things in life are the best. I have not had all of their food here but the few things I had i can honestly say will for sure get again. I had the carnitas, the tacos, one time my mom had a torta and my dad had the enchiladas and it was all good. Pro tip, if you are making tamales or gorditas and need the corn dough to make them. The store sells that dough where they make the tortillas in house. Just tell them you wanna buy x pounds and they will ring you up. It is a bit more expensive compare to what they have in the freezer section but quality and freshness is way superior. Third is the butcher shop, you don't get this kind of service or variety from the big retail supermarkets. My parents use to go to fiesta or minyards when they were around but now they are closing more and more stores making them hard to come by. The closest Fiesta to us is in Arlington and there are more El ranchos and Michoacanas around so this is more convenient for us. Every now and then I will come into the butcher shop area and see cultures other than Hispanic buying meat here. I love seeing that, not trying to sound weird but it makes me happy seeing that other cultures are interested in what this primarily Hispanic store has to sell. The butcher shop has many different cuts of meats and my cuts are pre-marinated so it takes all the guess work out. There are certain meats that have to be cut but the staff is pretty happy to cut them to your specific liking. Sometimes I go in there and say "hey I am making xyz and I don't know that the cut of meat is, could you help me" and 99% of the time they know what I am talking about. If its a popular dish or if you can describe the type of animal meat it uses they will probably know. Fourth, I love coming here because I know I will find those Hispanic brands of food that cannot be found anywhere else. I love going to W.M but sometimes they don't have the Hispanic brands I need or sometimes they do have it but they only have the small cans and I need to Texas size cans lol. Another reason I love it here for the spice wall. Just like Bucees has the wall of Jerky, every el rancho has a spice wall (not a spice rack but a whole wall of spices). A lot of them have the spice printed in both English and Spanish, i always learn something new when I read the lables. They come in whole or grinded to a fine powder. So white people if you don't like using spice in your food this isn't the place for you lol sorry had to put that joke in there. But if you are white and you love spice and you are reading this, my people love you! Six reason I love this place (well mostly my parents love it), the produce. We are able to find some ethnic produce here fresher and sometimes cheaper compare to W.M or targee. When its Christmas time this is the first place I go to get the ingredients to make Mexican punch. The lines on the weekends can be pretty long so be prepared for that. Lines on weekdays are not too bad. The customer service is good, never really had a problem before. Outside the store they have the lady that sells elotes and other snacks. Its a hit or miss with them since I only gotten elote from them twice and it is lacking in terms of spice. They also sell nachos, chips with nacho cheese in it, duritos preparados, and honestly just really good Mexican junk food haha. I love it tho. What I don't like is that there never seems to be enough parking, also the parking lots is frequently visited by street vendors trying to sell you bread and other crap like that. They claim they are from a monastery or some kind of religious group that 'is trying to take off' in the US. I tell them no and just keep walking, it does bother me that they are out there but just tell them to go away and keep walking and you will be fine. If you never been to an el rancho, take this as your invitation to come and enjoy something different that might just end up being your new favorite. My name is Ana and I approve this review

WARNING: they cover date in order to sell expired bread

Noticed a smell when opening bag, upon checking date noticed a sharpie mark on month. Store staff covers month in order to sell expired bread! No mold visible. But the fact that I work to hard to buy my groceries only to have to throw away because they don't want to take the loss! UNBELIEVABLE!

The barbacoa is so good here, 15lbs is 35$ comes with cilantro onions limes & salsa! From the grocery store to the eatery here it's high quality great produce , amazing meat market! Good prices the cakes are so delicious here. Then Pan Dulce is also very good.

I really like cool ethnic grocery stores. I've been to some of the Asian ones and now some of the Mexican/ Hispanic ones. You always find something new and different and the prices are usually lower for many items. I had just picked up some tacos from a restaurant I'd never been to, and I've passed by El Ranchero before. I wanted to see what kind of spices they might have. I'm a bit of a spice nut. I always like trying something new. I got a cool fajita spice mix. Score! Fresh sweet breads, cakes, tortillas and even cactus tortilla chips. Dried hot peppers as far as the eyes can see. Tamarind, jamaica and all sorts of fresh fruits and veggies. All sorts of meat and at least five different types of crema. All I know, is that when I actually have time to wander this place. I intend to. I really want to check out the juice bar. I will be back.

    Elotes heaven!

I only come here for the elotes food stand. Omg best one in Fort Worth. Please don't go to chamoy for elotes, it's disgusting. Chamoy only has good snow cones and drinks! I love this so much, kind of pricy tho. Most places are $2.50, here it's $3.00 and the cups are a little bit smaller too. I recommend everyone to try it!!!! The grocery is pretty nice. Clean, very cheap fruits and vegetables!

My fresh pina con nopal. I was afraid to take the picture inside the store.

Last time I was here I promised (myself) that I would be back to try some of the fruit juices. Well today (actually yesterday) was that day. I wanted something a little unusual, so I went for the "pina con nopal." I asked if it was sweet and the answer surprised me, "Would you like to taste it?" Wow, samples. Very cool. I said yes and I liked it. It had a very green taste, almost like jalapeno, but without the heat. The girl behind the counter (Sintia) was very friendly and helpful. This is definitely going to be a regular stop from now on, as I do want to try all the juices. Next time maybe lunch too, but on this day I already had food plans in Keller. Also while there I stocked up on some more powered beverage mix (see photo). Last time here I bought melon and horchata, both of which I liked. I bought more of the same and this time added limonade, pineapple, mango, tamarind and jamaica. I thought I bought a guanabana too, but in the confusion over Klass vs. Zuko (Klass is $2.39, Zuko is $2, I guess I put the wrong one back). Both make about 9 quarts. It's a nice item to have around. Just add water. They are refreshing on hot days and means we always have something visiting kids might find interesting (a fridge full of beer does not always cut it). Bottom line: The store was as busy as ever and a fun experience.

Chile relleno with beans and rice. Salad with crema on the side.

Let's start this meat-ing by saying... 5 STARS all around!…read more Service: A Bunch of Southern Gentlemen! Ambiance: Clean with lots of seating inside and out. Food: Quality, quality, QUALITY! I'd like to try the whole menu, but I've only been twice. The first time, we grabbed their famous Double Standard Burger. Meaty & marvelous! The second time, I grabbed the House Salad with Chicken. Healthy! The third time, I grabbed TMB French Dip. FAVORITE ITEM thus far. (: All times, fries were had. They are crispy, well seasoned and pair to perfection with Heinz ketchup. Oh, and I can't forget the iced tea and lemonade! I made an Arnold Palmer with them... gamemaker for any lunchtime meal. :D Will I be going back? Hands down. I have more to try!!!

Update: My first review- My beef sandwich was delicious;…read morethe meat was so tender. My friend liked hers as well. I can't wait to go back. Second experience did not live up to my first experience. I came back with my husband. I tried the burger and he had the blt. The beef sandwich is better. I got the single patty. If you get the burger, get the double. The patty was thin. I think the Hawaiian roll made it sweet. If you like sweet burgers, you may enjoy it more than I did. I also bought the "world famous" Swiss pastry shop Black Forest cake. Evidently I've never had their Black Forest cake because it was horrible. Black forest cake is supposed to be chocolate with cherries. The cake was white with cool whip. But here's the big issue - it was dried out and hard. The guy behind the counter told me it was frozen. This cake was not hard from being frozen. I asked several questions about the type and quality. I'm surprised he didn't offer a refund. Not worth $6.50. Not sure I'll go back again.
