This was my first time trying hot food from here, I got a pastor torta and a green Jarrito. The lady was very nice and they have benches to seat and eat. The torta was a good size and had avocado and everything on it. It tasted really good, if I had got same torta at a taco place I'd have been happy with it. They have AWESOME sales on meat! Do I have your attention? Good. This is one of those places where I check the ad every week. You never know what they are going to have on sale. They do a high volume of both meat and produce, and I have never had a problem with quality. Their selection in the produce department isn't very wide, but they are stocked with staples. As for meat, they've got all KINDS of stuff. I make my own chicken broth and like to roast come chicken feet to out in there. (They're full of glycerin and collagen) And guess where you can find some fresh ones! Right there in the meat counter! Though, people will look at you funny when you ask for two pounds of chicken feet. I don't care, my broth is the best! Their pantry staples and dairy department can't compete with other stores like Kroger, when it comes to price. However, you can find all kinds of spices and chillies, to fill up your cabinet. The tortillas, baked goods, and and prepared foods are great choices. They even have tables set up if you want to get a taco plate. The lines...they can be long. Especially at the meat counter. Also to check out. It is helpful to know when to go! Check out Google for busy times and Friday evenings are a winner! Don't even think about coming on Sunday. Do you like aguas frescas? Try this place out! I was just needing something to take to work for a meal night and stopped here one day. I had never even tried aguas frescas and happened to try out the cantaloupe (melon) flavor. I've been hooked every since that visit! They'll let you sample any favors you'd like too. They have an assortment of fresh foods not found in most grocery stores such as fresh made guacamole (not the kind they just scoop from a bucket into a container). Pico de gallo, peppers and onions and many others. They also have a bakery with fresh baked pastries or cold cakes/pies -- these are fun just to look at! I'd also suggest trying aiming from their grill. It's in the same area and has such an authentic taste, the folks working here seem to really love their job and that makes any experience all the better. read more

This store has a fresh meat market and many of the traditional Mexican items not found in any other store. From sweet bread, corn in a cup, Mexican candy, and snacks this store offers a variety. They have fresh made flour tortillas that are really good, all the food is delicious in the cafe, and fresh Mexican drinks or "aguas frescas" are really good. The biggest down fall is the ridiculous amount of time you spend in line, the meat market and the checkout lines. No one seems to have any urgency and there never is enough cashiers. Be prepared to wait and be stressed out in line. This store has potential to be some much better if it was managed better. read more

El Rancho is such a awesome place for meats, fruits and produce. I come here particularly for the chicken breast and other produce that are the cheapest compare to other supermarkets. If you like breads and pastries that are also cheap and amazing, you can also find that here. There is a full drink and hot food area in here if you want affordable Mexican food without the tip. The supermarket is clean and staff are friendly. El Rancho is my go to supermarket 90% of the time. read more

I go here for the food, not groceries. (tip: wonderful produce deals, but not a great selection on the cheap stuff... take that ad to somewhere that price matches) Their taquieria is the best thing ever. Cheap and delicious, and the salsa bar is great too. They have that grilled chicken that you might find at El Pollo Regio, and there's a bunch of picnic tables you can eat at. This is like a mega Mexican supermarket. They have exotic veggies and meats/seafood. There is restaurant and juice bar inside. The sweet bread and cakes looked awsome. I had a burrito and juice which were very good and priced right. It was fun just browsing the unique selection of items. read more

So, I have been craving some galetas and decided to stop at El Rancho. I love this place because it's affordable especially when it comes to meat/poultry and veggies/fruits. It was 9:30pm when I stopped in and walked in with a smile on my face with the thought of galetas on my mind. There was only one left of the one I really wanted (the one with the nuts on top). So I took it and was going to settle with the chocolate chip one and the little pig ones. I started looking really hard just to make sure there were no more of my favorites. And all of the sudden, I was overwhelmed with DISGUST. MINI ANTS... yeah you read right... ANTS everywhere in the trays.. I had to do a double even triple take... and yep... they were ANTS.. I put the galetas which is had in the plastic bag back on the tray and as I was walking out, I stopped by the manager booth. Their manager, this mid-20s Latina who I always see at the store, had her head down counting money as it was getting to closing time. So I told her about the ANTS all over the galetas and nonchalantly she asked me where and I pointed to the treats window. She just said "OK" and was not even bothered one bit. She continued counting her money as I walked out. An inspection of this place is overdue!!!! NASTY.. And a carefree MANAGER... Oh and one less CUSTOMER (I guess I can't move one without selecting a star... so there you go.. you get one star... minus 1 in my books) read more
