We got the carne asada. The meat was clean as in not too much fat or tendons, we chopped it up for tacos. The chorizo was also delicious. The staff was extremely kind and accommodating. Ugh I hate giving bad reviews, just not my cup of tea but my experience needs to be heard. People talk really good things about this establishment, my grandma who is a 78 yr old senior wanted to try this place and went yesterday and got some ground beef and some other meat to grill (not sure what the name is). As I was having breakfast this morning with my family, she tells me she couldn't sleep because she got food poisoning and keep throwing up, I ask what was the last thing she ate, she tells me it was this meat. I went to the place to return both of the meats she had bought, I spoke to this gentleman who I'm guessing is the manager. He seemed very upset at me for bringing the issue, he was defensive and asked what was wrong, I said she got food poisoning, he said well I don't know why, then he proceeded to tell me if my grandma had come before to buy lenguas, I explained to him, neither I or my family had come to this place before and he kept insisting on the lenguas ( I don't even know what's that). He said he will give me the refund for the meat to grill but not the ground beef, I said why not? I'm telling you I don't want it, plus I'm bringing you the receipt and the meat. As an experienced Food Manager I know people always try to get advantage of free stuff and I can understand he may thought that, however I came to him very nice and explained the issue and had my receipt, I don't understand why was it so hard to give me what I was asking. This place is always busy. Their marinated meat is just incredible, and the people working here are always friendly and helpful. They make dry Chorizo on Thursday. It doesn't last long for a reason. One of my go-to's for weekend cooking. read more

First couple of times coming here the meat was spot on and even tasted fresh. The past 3 times of coming here for espinazo de puerco, the espinazo has a terrible taste. I bought espinazo for posole. I wasn't watching the guy cutting up my espinazo and this is what he served me! I got home and the espinazo smelled terrible and had black dried up blood. Now with the new meat market on Bear Valley Rd (Carnes y mariscos) Mi Ranchito is going to go downhill. To the owners, please do better and serve better quality meat. They have a line outside because they only let so many ppl in at one time. Okay I'll wait outside I get it since we just got out of COVID ...whatever but if you even try to enter they yell at you in Spanish not yet. They are almost completely out of meat by 3pm on a Saturday. I get it...it s the weekend but really?? They let people order on the phone or ahead and those ppl can obviously go in and get their order. Honestly, save your self the headache go to Vallerta. By far the worst experience at a meat market. No prices on the meat cuts and overpriced vegetables. All meat cuts were priced at 6.99 for except for the ranchera which was an average price of 13$/lb. I left with 4 pounds of marinated beef steaks only to get home to 4 lbs of marinated ground meat surprise. Would rate 0 if I could. read more

Check it out, we've been in there many times. The meat is good. But two things stick out. The customers than come and go are seriously rude. I get it I don't speak Spanish, but I'm just trying to buy some meat. I've been bumped into, cut in line, ignored. Really frustrating. So it's been a while since coming here. Then my wife goes. Randomly decides to get some chicken for dinner. She doesn't usually go. I get home and she asks me about going back due to this issue. She asked for 2 pounds chicken and got 1 pound 14.4 ounces. Close enough, right? I get it, they are chicken thighs. What I am mad about is that they charged my wife for 2 pounds without weighing it, essentially stealing money from us. What kind of bull shit is that? I asked for 2 pounds, you didn't weigh the product (granted, my wife didn't think about it at the time) and then charged us for something we didn't get. Love this place for meat. It's a little pricey but I think it's worth it because the meat seems more fresh has better taste. You buy like at Vallarta or Cardenas and there is a horrible smell to it. Wow certified goodness. I've traveled from the lowness of the valleys and settled for the highness of the desert. Yet the high desert at times may have disappointed this time it soared above and beyond. First off, my work day started that I needed to travel 157 miles to my destination to Oxnard, so did my trip back. Yet taking the atypical journey back by destination required detours and taking the back way home was an arduous but fruitful journey. Henceforth my journey to a humble yet beautiful destination. I arrive and yes by many means it looks very scant and bare. Yet what one finds is so flavorful and downright good. First off certified angus beef, secondly they do not try to hide their beef in a marinade, its a beautiful what you see is what you get. And it's all good. Plus I like the option of having a marinade thrown on after you get the meat. Maybe it's just me but its new to me. At your atypical places it's already marinated and you don't get to see the quality of cut. The salsa roja was damn goodness but damn that was woo weee goodness hot diggity damn. So in totality this place rocks, plus the butcher gave me a taster of the chorizo without me asking and damn. Nuff said. read more
