Normally this place is on point! The food usually comes out super good and fast. This last time I went they were really busy and I didn't see the waitress as much as I normally would but she was very nice and just seemed overwhelmed. UPDATE JULY 2019: We decided to take a leap of faith and try this restaurant again. I'm actually really glad we did. We sat at the bar area (it was completely open when we got there) and we were immediately greeted with chips & salsa and the bartender took our drink order. They have 3 beers on tap (Modelo, Dos Equis, and Michelob Ultra) but we learned that they are in the process of installing their draft system and they will have approximately 12 options. My husband ordered Modelo and I ordered Tecate (bottle) which were nice & cold. For dinner he ordered the Burrito Jalisco which was HUGE - leftovers for next day lunch - and I ordered the Chipotle Enchiladas. Our food came out fast, hot and SO good!!!! I'm glad we decided to try this place again. They've made HUGE improvements in the 2 months they've been open and I look forward to seeing what they have to offer once they're "fully" up and running! MAY 2019: We had been looking forward to trying out this new restaurant so we met some friends for dinner on a Saturday night. We were seated right away and immediately received chips and salsa. The waiter wasn't sure (odd) so my husband got up and walked over to the bar to find out they had TWO beers on draft (Dos Equis and Modelo). How could our waiter not remember the names of TWO beers?!?! My friend asked what kind of tamales they had and he wasn't sure and had to go ask (they were pork). We could only assume he was brand new. I ordered a margarita on the rocks. I wish I had noticed before I ordered that the margaritas were pre-made and served out of container. It was very watered down and too sweet (too much margarita mix). I didn't taste any tequila. Our food was fine - nothing exciting. Our friends ordered a tamale, a taco, and enchiladas. They said they were good, not great. I ordered the chipotle shrimp dish which came with rice and mashed potatoes. The chipotle sauce on the shrimp was delicious but the shrimp were over cooked. The rice must have been sitting for a while because it was slight hard. Oddly enough, the mashed potatoes were the tastiest thing on the plate. My husband had the Texas fajitas and said they were good. The bar area seemed nice and we would consider coming back to sit at the bar for a beer and appetizer, but I highly doubt we'll come back for a meal. There is another Mexican restaurant in town that has been consistently goso this place really needs to step it up if they want to compete. read more

Sat at bar 10 minutes before being acknowledged. After giving my order still took another 5 minutes to get it because bartender was busy telling his regulars how "shitty of a night" he was having. Placed order with no tomato or guac. He brought half my food out with no plates, no silverware and literally walked away and went in the back. 3 minutes later I got someone else to get the other half of my food (which had tomatoes and guac) and some silverware then that person just walked away. It started out with them telling us it would be a 20 minute wait to get a table which seemed reasonable for a Friday night. 45 minutes had passed so we checked in and turns out they had skipped us. I get it accident happens. Then as we're eating we find a fly in one of the margaritas. But I gets worst, through the dinner we not only saw one but multiple cockroaches running on our table. I kid you not cockroaches. We even managed to catch one and show the manager. We were told he is aware they have cockroaches but there is nothing they can do. Take this review for what it's worth. I've been here 3x at this point and last week I came with my mom and we both agreed it was the best we've had here and our server he was very attentive and friendly as my tea never got more than halfway empty but there was a ton of ice in it. Orale! El Ranchero has now opened in Ranson WV, after months of anticipation this family owned restaurant has opened its doors on Wednesday right before Cinco de Mayo. I tried the Burrito Jalisco which was well presented and full of flavor. The sauce was awesome, I liked the mixture of the meats and fresh pico and avocados. Had to have a jarritos with my meal to make this food experience complete. I wish them well as with very little advertising they have been jammed packed. Short version: It's adequate, but not particularly notable. It's generic Mexican food a la America. It has the usual standards (tacos, enchiladas, burritos, etc) and a good selection of combination plates for folks who want to try different stuff. She Who Must Be Obeyed says that the seafood is pretty decent. We went on a Saturday afternoon in August, and were promptly seated. Chips and salsa arrived soon after. The salsa was decent, albeit a bit heavy on the tomato. We ordered cheese enchiladas and a taco salad. Very fast turnaround on order, and the food was decent enough, but note that this is Mexican, not Tex-Mex or New Mexico-Mex, so it tends toward the tamer side. They have hot sauce in bottles, but it's kind of too late by that time, so if you want spicy, this is probably not the place for you. Service was quick, and salsa and chips were replaced promptly when empty. Took a bit of time to get the check processed, but it was around 5 pm and they were pretty busy, so I'll give them a pass on that. Price was around $15 person with a soft drink. Overall, good enough for a reasonable weekday alternative, but with Chuy's in Sterling, there's a really good argument for skipping it and going to Sterling if you like more robust flavors. read more

They have grown past this and I can say they are the best in the county. We've had dinner here four different times and tried different items each time. Their steak is wonderful. The salmon fish tacos were a tongue zinger. They were flavorful and had a perfect char yet super moist and tender. I have been looking forward for this restaurant to open. Came in a busy lunch service. It did not take them long to sit us. Ambiance was good. The high tables that we were seated on were not all that comfortable. The waiter was quick enough to get our lunch order and he came out with some chips and salsa. It took them awhile to get our food out and I noticed it wasn't very warm, which left me disappointed. The flavor of the fajitas was good but it seemed dry. Overall it was an okay experience. I came in on an early Saturday afternoon with my daughter. The server we had bent over backwards checking up on us regularly. They even gave us a big of chips to go because my daughter told them how much she liked them.
