We were greeted with smiling eyes (since she had on a mask) and friendly demeanor. It wasn't very crowded so she told us to sit anywhere. They brought us 2 bowls of salsa. It was just ok- almost plain tomato sauce. They need to spice it up a little bit. Our friend wanted a margarita but they only serve beer. We wanted guacamole Mexicano but they were out of avocados. It's not looking good at this point. (They were VERY apologetic about it). Both of us couples ordered Pechuga Chicken to split. It came quickly and was very hot. We both ordered it with the cheese sauce on the side because we didn't want it saturated. We all really enjoyed the meal. It was delicious. If we're in this area again and craving Mexican we would probably eat here again.

I was expecting a traditional tamale wrapped in a corn husk, not one covered with random toppings and unnecessary extras. The presentation and flavor just didn't work for me, and I would not order it again. The carnitas was okay, but again, very disappointing. Salsa verde means green sauce, and this was definitely not a green sauce--it was red. They do use tomatillos, which may be why they consider it "verde," but that's not what I would expect when ordering carnitas en salsa verde or chile verde. I was specifically expecting the traditional green chile-based sauce. Overall, neither dish was what I expected, and unfortunately, I wouldn't order either one again.

I…read moregot a steak quesadilla and a spinach one with a side of beans, and the quality was just NOT unacceptable but UNEDIBLE. The steak pieces were -tough, chewy, and looked like scraps from the grill. Inedible, oh and y need a toothpick to pick out that horrible meat. There was no cheese, only meat scraps, making it even more unsatisfying. The spinach on the other one was hardly recognizable; it was mostly mushrooms and onions, with only a faint hint of green. Again, where's the cheese? NONE TO BE SEEN. I called the manager to discuss my concerns, but I was dismissed with the comment, "everyone makes mistakes!" Instead of receiving any acknowledgment of the poor quality, I was told to either return for a replacement or make the effort to come back for a refund. This is not how a business should ever operate. I shouldn't have to return to a restaurant that failed to deliver a satisfactory meal. The steak was gristly, tasteless, and evidently old. Spending $30 for this was a WASTE of my earned money. The manager's tone suggested that it was my fault for choosing their establishment, which is entirely inappropriate. There are numerous excellent Hispanic restaurants in the area, and quite frankly, I regret not trying one of them instead. Amigo's should not be your go-to place; this experience was beyond disappointing.

Once inside, turn right to enter the main dining area. There is a counter to the left with the hostess. We selected a booth near the outside wall and were seated immediately. There were only a few other lunch customers, and the seating is spaced well so moving around is easy. Our server took the drink order and another server brought the chips and salsa right away. The chips were fresh and the salsa was nice. It looked like it would have a heavy tomato flavor but it was surprisingly well-rounded. It was a decent start for the meal. The menu is extensive with something like five pages of items. We decided to try only items from the lunch menu which made the selection easier. Our drinks arrived quickly and we placed our order. Our food arrived in about ten minutes. The Texas fajitas included several large shrimp along with the steak and chicken. The mixture was well-seasoned and plentiful for a lunch portion. The accompanying refried beans were average and the guacamole salad was fresh and crisp. The flour tortillas were warm. The lunch carnitas provided 3-4 chunks of pork. The meat was slightly dry but still tender. It was seasoned nicely and quite tasty. The same refried beans were fine and the pico was fresh and a very nice addition to the pork. The optional corn tortillas were warm and held together much better than most corn versions. Service was very good. Both entrees were good and large enough for a lunch portion at a reasonable price. The menu is very large and based on this first visit is certainly worth additional exploration.
