People frequently use clientele as an indicator of the legitimacy of a "foreign" food (Americans at…read morea burger place, Asians at a Chinese restaurant, and Northern Africans at a Moroccan restaurant). If that's our measure, then Alwadi is legit. Chatted with several people in French while watching them switch to Arabic with the waiters. Legit. The decor was chill and relaxing. Rule #1: if you go to a Moroccan restaurant and don't order mint tea, you will be labeled a neophyte. Rule #2: Tajin (or tagine) is the way to go... always. I ordered the lamb skewer, and it was very nice. A little chewy, but with good flavor. The Mrs. ordered the lamb tajin, and it was INSANE! So amazingly tender and delicious. Order this if you like lamb, and you will not be disappointed. The third order was the minced beef skewer (Koufta Hallapi), which was a little dry, but that's a hard battle considering how lean ground beef is in much of Europe. We closed with the Kunafe Arabe (pictured), which was pretty yummo and not too sweet. It really hit the spot. If I'm coming back, it's tajin for me, 100%.
