I went there and was treated in a very unfriendly way by the female manager and it was as if she was making up the price as she went along. Unusually delicious dinner of queso, enchiladas con mole, burritos, nachos and house margaritas (one frozen, one on the rocks. Everything was fresh and super-delicious! I will not be going back to this place!!! I wanted to make a Togo order. Everybody who came in after me was serviced. They had me sitting there for 15 min. No one came and took my order!!! Crazy cause I order from there once a week spending over $60. I guess I wasn't the right race as I normally order over the phone. So I just ordered my food over the food. We have been to the restaurant a few times and they never seem to disappoint. They always have great service and food is usually on point. However, this time is seems like they rushed in the cooking process. My wife's tamales were a little overdone as the edges or ends were tough. This is our close friends favorite place in Hammond, so we end up here a lot. Yes the food is more Tex-mex and not "authentic". What makes it a stand out are the owners and service,. All the staff is extremely friendly and wantinging to please. Also, since COv19 we have been there more. Wow had lunch with my son there and it was a disaster. Rookie waitress that got both orders wrong. One order was just 2 beef tacos. She brought chicken but my son did not send it back. But he wished he had since he got sick that day from the darn tacos. My order was simple. Steak fajitas. Waitres brought chicken and steak mix. Heck it looked bad and wasn't even sizzling when she brought it. I sent it back. Always had great service and experience until Friday , 11/12/2021. The most bizarre, surreal, uncomfortable experience with a server. EVER! So much so that after we left my husband started apologizing and felt creeped out. Our server was the blonde haired Caucasian girl. She literally would stand between us and put her arm around my husband, passed me to serve my food across him while putting her body against him. Stroking his shoulders, made sexual insinuations, and begged us to buy her a mermaid drink. It's embarrassing knowing customers must have noticed and shock kept us maintaining couth and not create a scene. My husband insisted we go the next day to report to manager but we waited til Monday at a slower hour. We are disappointed that we feel too uncomfortable to go back since the manager said he would only discuss it with the server. Growing up in my family's restaurant, this would never be acceptable and the server would be instantly removed as it is considered sexual harassment unless you are working in an establishment such as a strip club which it felt like. read more

They served me a chili relleno that could not be cut with my fork. They took it back and brought another one out with the hard side down against the plate. Then the manager got angry when I told her I didn't want the third one they brought out. I have to admit this is the first time we have ever been disappointed with this place. I placed an order via Waitr and called to make sure the restaurant received the modifications I made to my order. Instead of showing professionalism and appreciation from a LOYAL customer the gentleman or lack thereof was VERY DISRESPECTFUL. He yelled and told me that I need to speak with them about my order yet they are the ones preparing the food; also told me that I paid them. I'm very sure you're receiving compensation from waitr. At first walking in was a little sketchy because I'm not used to change in restaurants but I decided I wanted to try it anyway. I was immediately seated and had drinks, chips and fixings infront of me within 5 mins tops. Loved the been dip especially which I also do not usually see for free at any other Mexican restaurant. I'm giving this restaurant 2 stars because every El Paso I've been to has $4 margaritas that are 2 for 1. I've actually had these at this location before, but last night they gave us $7 margaritas & when I complained about it the manger lied & said they only had the $7 margaritas. It added $21 to my bill which should've only had $8 added. While I love the food, I will not go back to an establishment that lies to me & treats me like I am stupid. Two weeks ago my husband ordered fajitas (steak shrimp and chicken) he was just eating the meat and veggies off of the plate (not rolled in a tortilla). He bit down on something hard and when he pulled it out of his mouth it was a ONE INCH WOOD SCREW!!!!! We go (went) there often, about once a week - could kick myself for not taking a picture but was so shocked just called the owner over. He took the plate brought more fajita meat ( which wasn't eaten) and DID NOT offer to take the meal off. When I asked about a discount or something he gave me a $10 gift card....as if we would come back!!!! I'm just thankful it wasn't swallowed or one of the babies got it!! My boyfriend & I stopped in because we saw their sign advertising the happy hour (two for one margaritas). We were slightly disappointed to find out that the 2 for 1 were only smalls and limited flavor options. We were also blown away by the prices. There are many other Mexican restaurants in this area that serve better margaritas, bigger sizes and cheaper (but maybe that's the broke college student in me talking). The service was awful and the waitress up-charged my food. I tipped her appropriately for the service I received. A few days later my bank notified me that she tipped herself 30%, which is definitely not what I tipped her. I called the manager to make him aware of what happened, and he couldn't have cared less. He did absolutely nothing and did not seem concerned in the slightest bit. He made me feel like an inconvenience for even calling.
