They would've let me die because back in March of 2021 I didn't have health insurance and I didn't…read morelive in that state because I am a long haul truck driver and I got sick quickly and was on my way back to the state where I live to drop a load off and to be treated. My symptoms got very bad by the time we were coming to El Paso so my co-driver stop and dropped the trailer at Loves and he took me to this hospital and 2 nurses had to help get me off the truck. When they got me situated in the ER then the registration guy came in and told me that I had to pay $250 in order to be seen by a doctor and to have the CT scan done. So I told him here's my bank card take what is needed for the doctor to see me because my kidneys were failing. I was admitted as an inpatient then I asked the nurse am I in Mexico or USA because they didn't serve healthy food they feed me a one slice bologna sandwich 3x a day. Again I asked are you sure this hospital not in Mexico. Then to be released from the hospital I had to pay cash or they wouldn't release me because the financial lady came back up and said we tried to withdraw the money and it declined so I had to call my boss to see if they had transferred the money into my account and she said oh I'll go to the bank right now bcuz where I'm from there's a 2 hour difference. So it got paid and I was released late that evening. That's when I learned that every state is different and the state of Texas will let you die they will refuse you if you have NO INSURANCE. Which after 4 years ladies in my Ostomy group chat told me I should've sued this hospital because I was in Renal Failure and if I hadn't had the money they would've let me die. My daughter is a nurse here in Washington state and she said mom here at the hospital we can't turn anyone away we treat everyone the same insurance or no insurance. If you don't have insurance beware they will make you pay upfront because it happened to me. THIS IS HOW MEXICO RUNS THERE HOSPITALS AND DOCTORS OFFICE.. Patients have to pay upfront to see a doctor and also for treatment or hospital stay...Also patients family has to provide the patient with 3 meals a day... In Washington state there's a law and a sign as you enter the hospital stating that if you have insurance or no insurance medical treatment can not be refused... This hospital I give a rate of 1

After being transferred from Grants, NM, to Las Cruces, NM, and then to El Paso, we were told they would better manage his condition. He had a serious mass in his throat that was a huge issue, and he was struggling, but he was still fighting. The night he arrived, I was informed that he became very irate and agitated and that the staff told me that they were going to be releasing my father, against the doctor's recommendations. After calling two security guards and then strapping my father to his hospital bed, they decided to administer medication to calm him. I was later told that shortly afterward, his heart stopped, CPR was performed, and he was intubated, despite the fact that he had a DNR in place!!!!!! I can't for the life of me, EVEN BEGIN to wrap my head around how he went from being so full of life, causing so much chaos, to being put on life support not even 8 hours after arriving at this hospital!!! (WHO WAS MORE EQUIPPED TO HANDLE HIS CONDITION!!!!) As his daughter, trying to understand the sequence of events and the decisions made has been incredibly difficult. We have not yet received a clear, detailed explanation of what occurred in his final hours. Losing a parent is devastating. Not having clear communication or a full understanding of what happened makes it even harder. I am currently requesting his full medical records in hopes of getting answers. I encourage other families to stay involved, ask questions, and advocate for their loved ones' care and wishes. Furthermore, I ONLY GAVE THEM 1 STAR BECAUSE IT WOULDN'T LET ME NOT GIVE THEM ANY!!!!

I had to be re-admitted to clear up the infection. Additionally, the food was very bad. As a result, I will not go back for any future care at the Sierra Campus.

The ER doctor took a video of my sons hand and sent it to an Ortho doctor, Dr. Kathleen Robertson. She told the ER doctor that my son needed surgery immediately due to the severity of the cut and him being unable to move his fingers. She said to have him transported to the hospital and she would do the surgery when he arrived. I didn't have time to research an orthopedic surgeon and I was so scared that whoever did the surgery would mess something up and my son wouldn't have function in his hand. My son is an ice hockey goalie so having use of his hand is crucial. When we arrived at the hospital and met Dr. Robertson she was this amazing person. So down to earth and comforting. Before she took my son to surgery she said she wanted to say a prayer together. Dr. Robertson, my son, myself, 2 nurses and the anesthesiologist all held hands while she said a prayer. I had this feeling come over me, both more anxious but comfort at the same time. My son was truly blessed to have Dr. Robertson as his surgeon. She saved his hand. He has full range of motion and is able to do everything again that he could before the accident. Had she not have responded so quick to the ER doctor my son more than likely would not have had such an amazing outcome. During all of my sons follow-up appointments she never rushed us. She always explained everything completely, just like before and after his surgery, and she answered all the questions we had, as well as encouraged my son by being so optomistic. She spoke with him since he was the patient but would also speak with me, his mom. Most surgeons just want to do a surgery and move on but Dr. Robertson is not one of those. Besides being an amazing surgeon she is an amazing person. She is compassionate and truly cares about what she does and her patients. She always made my son feel like he mattered. Even though he was 13 (10 days after surgery he turned 14) she spoke to him professionally but used terminology he would understand. And she thoroughly explained what she was telling him. She always greeted my son, as well as myself. After the surgery, she also acknowledged and greeted my mom who was waiting with me during the surgery. When my son had follow-up appointments she asked how we were doing, including my mom. She remembers everything that occured in previous appointments. When my son was going through Occupational Therapy, she was constantly in touch with Noah, my sons OT. She stayed on top of his treatment and progress. She is truly one in a million. My son, as well as myself, adore her and will forever be grateful to her. She was in El Paso when she treated my son but she is now the hand surgeon at Mountain View Regional Hospital in Las Cruces, NM. If you need a hand surgeon look no further! You have found her!
