First time visiting this establishment. Walked in and immediately greeted and sat down. We ordered the Yuca & Chicarron as an appetizer; it was delicious. We had pupusas and they were amazing. They were stuffed with lots of cheese. Great prices! Would definitely put this on your list to visit. Nice family atmosphere. read more

PLEASE! Don't waste your time and money here I ordered some rice flour pupusas and yuca con chicharrones, the rice flour was dry and also the flavor like expired or "Rancio" Around and inside the pupusas was a lot of balls from the flour. The chicharron was RAW and improperly cooked I told to one server about the situation and she said nothing. I just told her "Please let them know about this " It's okay Im not gonna eat it but Im gonna pay for it. But nothing happens. So sorry guys, again please don't visit this place. This kind of thing happens to me bc Im trying to give another opportunity to restaurants It's not the first time that's happened to me and my girl exactly in this place. read more

As much as I love their pupusas I don't like being stolen from. I was curious how MY total was $58 but the bill was $73.11 when it was just 2 of us. WELL the taxes, a supplemental fee & they automatically grat you on all orders (which I don't mind but put a sign so all the paisas KNOW) the service here is a hit or miss & the wait can go from 25-35 min AFTER you put your order in. Service is terrible if you can't speak English. I called to place a pickup order for a party and as tried to place my order in broken Spanish, the person just gave up and hung up on me. I needed the food so I had Spanish speaker call for me and when my friend mentioned they were calling because they hung up on their friend earlier, the employee just laughed it off. Wow. I decided on 2 stars because the food was average, and I didn't think a one star would be fair since the food wasn't terrible. read more

Really slow and not especially friendly service which is never an encouraging sign. To the waitress's credit, it appeared to me that they were understaffed. I ordered the Chile Relleno and it was not disappointing but not outstanding either. This is a Honduran restaurant and I probably should have gone with Pupusas. Two stars from me due to gastric distress later in the day. read more

Looky hear all y'all fools that review this place bad. If you want an non greasy pupusa use your head and order with little cheese. This is what causes the good greasiness. If you want non brown plátanos, go somewhere else that doesn't know how to cook. If a plátano is white, it will be undercooked and will taste raw. Everything in this place is made from scratch to be as fresh as posible for the customer. Saying this means your food ain't gonna get out to you in a 5 min fast food restaurant style kitchen, So y'all just gonna have to wait. If y'all want Americanized El Salvadoran food, go some place else cause here, here you are gonna get some damn good authentic El Salvadoran food. These are people willingly sharing their delicious culture with us, so know your Spanish when you come here or at least try and they'll help you out. Food used to be a lot better years before. We decided to go tonight and it was disappointing. We ordered sopa de mondongo, sopa de gallina, pupusas revueltas, y pupusas de calabaza. All the food tasted really old, nothing fresh. The rice was clunky (like it had been reheated from several days ago), soups were watered down with no flavor, and pupusas were super greasy. The food is good but if you make an order to pick-up they will NOT make you a priority. No lie I've made several orders by phone and walk in 45 minutes later and the order was still not ready. This was not a one time thing it was an every single time thing so we stopped ordering from there. Too bad cause the food was good. Also I should add it was always small orders like 4 or 5 pupusas. They Make the best pupusas.... but customer service needs alot of improvement. Also the table in front of current cashier 9/30 and 10/24 5:15pm (rude pony tail )..is dirty she's walked by it not even thinking of cleaning it. But again, pupusas are awesom. You can't pay by phone here another reason to improve. I didn't speak Spanish and was given the stink eye. She drastically needs customer service training. So brush up on the espanol. Embracing diversity goes both ways in my humble opinion. read more

My beau and I like to drive around sometimes and scope out new, neighborhood places to eat. On one such occasion, we happened to drive by El Papaturro. "Salvadorean food? We've never had that! Let's turn around!" So we did. A quick reconnaissance of Yelp reviews, and we were ready to try pupusas for the first time! Here's what we ordered, and what I thought of them: Pupusas (one meat/cheese, one cheese/jalapeno): These were definitely tasty! I had never had pupusas, and I was pleased. They reminded me of Indian stuffed parathas. Like a stuffed corn tortilla, I guess. Anyway, yum. Carne Asada: We tried to order this medium rare, but language was definitely a barrier here. It came out cooked well done, and was pretty tough. Seafood soup: Unlike other places I have had seafood soup, I had to work too hard for the seafood in this soup. The shrimp and crab were still in the shell, and even the fish had the skin on it. I didn't really enjoy it, and ended up leaving it all. I don't really know the story behind this, but every table got a round Tupperware-type container of some sort of a cabbage slaw. This and the pupusas were my favorite part of the meal. As we left, we decided that it was a solid 3 star restaurant. Maybe if we had been more familiar with the menu, or didn't have the language barrier slowing us down, we would have enjoyed it more. Would we go back? Probably not anytime soon. But we DID enjoy it enough. read more

The food is ok, nothing to write home about. You're able to call and place the order ahead of time. The only problem is that they apparently don't start working on it until you arrive. We placed an order and were quoted 20 mins, we got there and had to wait an additional 25 minutes. It wasn't a large order either so it was kind of a bummer seeing as we were already hungry and had plans we needed to get to. read more

Delicious pupusas and not greasy at all. They do take a while to bring them though. So if you're really hungry, ask for an appetizer that might not take as long to bring. The "fresco de ensalada de fruta" "fruit salad drink" was pretty good too and not too sweet. Though I do wish they would have a smaller serving of the drink. Sometimes those drinks at Salvadoran restaurants are sweeter than they need be. Parking was very tight but I was lucky to find a spot. I unfortunately was there when someone had put money in the jukebox. I can't stand country music and I had to hear at least three Country songs. Ughhh. I would have thought that a Salvadoran restaurant would forbid that. ;). read more

Place has the best pupusas! I love to come here to order them. But be aware.... the wait time for food is outrageous, definitely worth it though. I'd recommend calling ahead of time, and waiting another 15-20 min after the wait time they give you over the phone. They have very short staff and are constantly looking to hire help so you can't really blame them for the long wait time. Place is average and clean, it's better to order and pick up. read more

Pupusas have always been a delicious marvel to me. We've been coming here since it was "La Pupusa Loca" to satisfy our craving. These pupusas are the real deal. Greasy and delicious as all hell. The rest of their menu does not fall behind either. Ambiance now. . . . I don't think it's air conditioned in there. They at least have upgraded from the picnic tables that used to serve as tables. Don't come here in a hurry. It takes a while (which I think is the case at most Pupuserias to get your food). God forbid someone play something on the Jukebox that is not to your liking, because you will go deaf once those quarters are dropped into the machine. It may be the last song you ever hear. All that out of the way. This is really authentic El Salvadorean food and it is delicious! Yes. They do orders to go. Look for the elevated bull if you can't find this place--it's right next to it and across from the Walgreens. read more

Probably the best pupusas I've ever had, being in the military I've had my fair share of el salvadorian food. This place is by far the best in service and food. The pupusas take some time since they're handmade, and the flavor reflects the time and love they put into it. The curtido (pickled cabbage) is a good supplement to meals and has the added kick since they make it right. I suggest getting the pupusas and tacos when you're here. read more

Unfortunately the food is really good but the service is so so slowww! I've been sitting here for over 45 minutes and still haven't gotten my food. I didn't order anything crazy. Pupusas, yuca frita, tamales, and bistec encebollado. They took 20 minutes just to bring an Agua de Tamarindo and 2 waters. The food is really good so I'm disappointed to have to give it a 2 star merely based on the service I received today. If the service was great I would give it a 4 to 5 star easily. I got here at 12:44pm, time is 1:38pm and food is still not here. read more

Randomly stopped at this place and tried the Pupusas revueltas and they were really good. Unlike other pupusa joints where all I taste is the tortilla dough. Also had the plantains with cream and beans. The tamrindo drink was a bit tart. Not my fav drink here. Would recommend for the Pupusas. read more

If you have never had had Salvadorian food, it is a must. It is very similar to Honduran (My 50% ethnicity) food but have a few different dishes. First and fore most, this ladies here are very attentive and friendly. I have ordered to go and ate here to. Both times have been pleasant. The drinks: Horchata - personally I don't like it. A "Salvadorian" horchata is different than a "Mexican" horchata because of the extra ingredients. So no matter where you go a Salvadorian and a Honduran horachata will taste weird to me. It is not horrible either. Try it, you might like it. Marañon (cashew apple) - By far my MOST favorite "agua fresca" aka fresh drink made from real fruits and ingridients (usually). You MUST try this. I always order this fresh drink here or when I go visit Honduras. It is even better than "Mexican" horchata or Tamarindo. You won't be disappointed. The food. You can't go wrong with pupusas period. They are good and decent size ( I eate two). I usually get "revueltas" which consist of meat and cheese. Or you can get a cheese pupusa too. They also have a loroco (vine) pupusa. Overall, I recommend this authentic Salvadorian restaurant because the staff is friendly and the food is always good. read more

I have been a regular customer at Gloria's, which makes the way this was handled even more…read moreunacceptable. Within 3-5 minutes of my arrival, the valet driver, Gustavo, was involved in an accident in my BMW that caused substantial damage. Valet staff and restaurant management knew there had been an accident, yet no one came to notify me. I sat in the restaurant for more than 90 minutes completely unaware that my vehicle had been damaged. I found out only when I was leaving, when Gustavo approached me with, "Don't get an attitude, I had an accident in your car." That was his opening statement. Not an apology. Not "Are you okay?" Not "We need to speak with you." He damaged my property and somehow I was the one being warned about my attitude. He then became combative, raised his voice at me, and presented himself as though he were management. The level of audacity was almost impressive. Restaurant management did not handle it much better. Johnathan and Jose both acknowledged that I am a regular and recognized my face, yet management showed very little urgency, offered no meaningful acknowledgment of what had happened, and did not even offer to comp my meal. No, a complimentary dinner would not fix a BMW. It would, however, have demonstrated basic hospitality after allowing a regular customer to unknowingly eat dinner for 90 minutes while his vehicle sat outside damaged. The communication afterward with Cedars Valet was even more concerning. Mohammed, Cedars Valet President acknowledged in writing, "we admit what we did" and initially stated, "Rest assure we will cover our damage." Yet the conversation quickly shifted to Cedars attempting to decide, before BMW has even completed their inspection, which portions of the damage they would and would not accept responsibility for. Interesting approach considering Cedars had possession of my vehicle when the accident occurred. Accidents can happen. What does not have to happen is failing to notify the customer, allowing them to sit inside for an hour and a half, greeting them with hostility when they finally discover it, and then immediately trying to minimize the damage afterward. If you valet at Gloria's, understand the risk is apparently not limited to whether your vehicle gets damaged. Pay very close attention to how you may be treated once it does. As someone who regularly patronized this restaurant, I expected significantly better. The accident was bad enough. The lack of transparency, professionalism, accountability, and basic customer care afterward is what made the experience truly unacceptable.

It's a small food truck located in the same parking lot with Fiesta off Paton and Cavalcade so there's no seating or real space to eat (unless you eat in your car). They're also honest about the wait time. They said it would take 15-20 minutes and they didn't go over their time estimate. I have only had pupusas a handful of times (I'm from a small town in WA state that only had Mexican restaurants since only Mexicans lived there, so don't judge ) and can say these were the best I've had thus far. They were freshly made and piping hot when I got them (I had to put the bag down from my lap because it was too hot) and remained so throughout eating them. The cheese was gooey and stringy and their salsa has a nice little kick to it. It wasn't greasy or too salty which is always a plus. I ordered the revueltas (pork & cheese) and added beans to them. They are HUGE so be mindful when ordering them (they also taste better the next day if you have any leftover). These were definitely worth the price. I would recommend this place to anyone who asks if I know where they sell good pupusas. Let's just say I'll be going in again (they're so close to me). I hope y'all enjoy.

Authentic, delicious, and super cheap. If you have not had Salvadoran food, give it a try! Very little of it is spicy (now if you don't like spicy, then avoid the curtido...spicy cole slaw...that is brought to your table). Interesting tamales, amazing pupusas, all very inexpensive...the only downside? You cannot go when you are in a hurry...as I said it is authentic Salvadoran so you will have plenty of time to chat with your tablemates while waiting on your food. read more
