    Cool cactus work.
    Jerry R.

This place was a big no for me. I don't know if I'm too used to San Antonio food but no on this one. I would always see cars here and thought it was going to be good. The tortillas were weird tasting. It catered to the locals. The service was good but I couldn't see me paying for this food again. I tried a big taco and a reg taco just to see. No happening again. Not for me.

Kinda a dive place, but the food it excellent. This is my favorite place for breakfast and I highly recommend the migas, but everything is super yummy.

    Cheese Enchilada plate

Food was good. Ordered a carne guisada taco, a machacado taco, and a cheese enchilada plate. The carne guisada taco really had no meat in it. It only had gravy. The melted cheese was awesome. The machacado taco was good. Needed a little salt. The cheese enchilada plate was good. They cut easily without a knife. Not sure what kind of cheese they use but it's good. I will return but will order different.

Skimpy tacos with two pieces of ham, no bacon. Paid about $20 for 6 tacos. These guys are crooks

These guys are crooks. This is the second time they do not add the bacon for 6 tacos but charge me bout $20. Also the tacos is so skimpy. Not worth it at all. They have lost my business.

Not sure on rating yet young girl with altitude problem was waitress be lucky if she gets a tip at all I was gonna give two stars but wife said one. Wife tried to use bathroom was not a seat on toilet it's hover toilet I suppose. Food was okay hot sauce is too hot for women and children the puffy tacos are chalupas didn't even get all the food at same time had to wait 15 minutes for mine. Waitress had some sort of an attitude problem couldn't smile and was in a hurry she gave menus came back thirty seconds later with water and spit out are y'all ready yet with the sighs of a attitud on a teenager. I've ate here many times was decent food won't even give em another chance to piss us off like this time wasted money for something that will only make a turd. Picture is kid who played on his phone for about thirty minutes while attitude girl wasn't refilling drinks.

Always consistent and great food. My go to is the El Nopalito Special. They also have a drive thru that is usually fairly fast.

Whenever I'm in town I make it a point to hit up El Nopalito. My favorite is their migas. Excellent Mexican food and friendly staff.

Favorite Mexican restaurant in town. Such a shame it burned down. We miss our weekly lunches and dinners.

When we got to the loop, the navigator showed it was still a little way to go. As we usually hop onto the loop must be the reason, we had never seen this place. The restaurant is in the back of a little shopping center. Since this was midday, the shopping center was packed. We actually had a hard time finding a parking space. We walked in and were greeted immediately. The space is much larger than it appears from outside. We were taken to our seats, and quickly had a waiter deliver water and menus. When Nicholas found out this was our first trip, he was excited to share his knowledge of his favorite things and make suggestions. While we were deciding, he brought us our chips and queso. We decided what we wanted, placed our orders, and started in on the chips, queso, and salsa. Both the queso and salsa were warm, and the chips were light and tasty. After our food was delivered, we talked with Nick some, and he suggested we come back in the evening as they had live entertainment. We enjoyed our food immensely and decided we would bring our daughter here this weekend as they are coming into town and love TexMex. Nick did a great job of keeping our glasses filled, the conversation going, and answering our questions. I can't say anything about the other waiters, buy if you get him, you will not be disappointed. Will I return? Definitely as we will be here this upcoming weekend:)

My poor dog actually slipped on some algae and went right into the river that day, so it was especially nice to sit outside, relax, and enjoy the unbeatable weather afterward. We went on a Saturday and the place was absolutely popping. The patio was full of families enjoying the sunshine, and the whole place had a really energetic, welcoming vibe. I brought my dog along with her travel bed, and it was nice to be able to settle in outside with her. The folks at the next table were also very sweet and asked about my dog, which added to the friendly atmosphere. Our server was very kind and attentive throughout the visit. She made sure we were doing well and checked in at just the right times. One thing I really appreciated was that she brought chips for both sides of our table. The chips were super crispy and tasted really fresh -- a great way to start the meal. I'm not usually the biggest Tex-Mex fan, but I have to say I really enjoyed my giant plate of two beef burritos. The portions were massive and the flavors were great. I ended up with so many leftovers that I ate them again for lunch on Monday and Tuesday, and they were still incredibly tasty days later. The only slightly stressful moment was that some kids were running around the patio a bit unsupervised. It made me a little nervous with my dog there because I was worried someone might accidentally step on her. She's not easily spooked, but I felt better once we moved her to the unoccupied side of the table. That said, this wasn't the restaurant's fault -- just something to be mindful of since servers are also navigating the patio with big trays of hot food. Overall, we had a great time. Friendly service, great food, and a lively patio atmosphere made for a really enjoyable visit. I'd happily come back the next time I'm in New Braunfels.
