Hands-down, one of the best churros I've ever had. El Moro has a few locations across Mexico City and is specifically known for their churros and aesthetic, Instagramable atmosphere. When you walk in, the whole space is white with outlines of blue. You make your way up to a counter where you place your order, with a menu that includes items like churros, churro ice cream sandwiches with housemade ice cream, coffee, and more.
I opted for a cafe de olla and a singular churro with a side of ice cream. I attempted to order in Spanish and ended up receiving my coffee but a churro ice cream sandwich, but that was okay too. This churro was soft, with a little bit of crispiness on the outside. It was warm and paired perfectly with the cold horchata ice cream. I'm not typically a fan of churros cuz I've had a number of bad ones in my life but omg I could eat these all the time. Off to the side of the counter, you can also see these churros being regularly and freshly made so you never really get churros that have been sitting out, which greatly contributes to the quality of the churro itself.
The space features indoor seating, high top seating faces outward with an open wall concept, and outdoor seating. It's the type of spot you can swing by quickly or spend some time just hanging out in. Open late too. read more
