Nice downtown storefront location. Nice decor. Very friendly staff. Based on other reviews, everyone seems to love this place and I understand why now. There are many comments about the pork burrito smothered with white sauce. I must have ordered the wrong thing, because mine was smothered the green tomatillo sauce that's often served on pork. No problem though, because it was delicious. The only problem was that there was sauce all over most of the rice and beans. Almost burying the thing that impressed me the most: The BEANS! In a world where you have been conditioned to just push your rice into your beans and eat them alongside the entrée, these beans are amazing. A little smoke. A gentle heat on the back of your tongue. I took an order home and after reheating, they make an outstanding dip on tortilla chips. read more

Ehhhh, pretty good, more generic than other Mexican restaurants in the area. Staff seem like they couldn't care less about service. First visit here. Second visit, I called and ordered enough Taco meat to serve 10 people. When I picked it up, it cost me $60! Ridiculous! Haven't been back sense. read more

We just bought a camper in Waterville and were so happy to see this restaurant there. Came in and were seated right away. We all ordered different items and they were very good. We enjoyed the atmosphere. All wait staff had masks on which we appreciated. Price point was reasonable and staff were friendly and attentive. My only wish was for the food to be a little hotter. If you're expecting a little food for your entree, that will not be the case. I got the fajitas last time and they were so good. Their taco salad it also on of the best I've had, however if you're looking to avoid oil (by getting a salad) ask for it without the shell. There's is good reason that they had this location, then got another location in Waterville which has also thrived. The food comes out quickly, and it also comes out HOT. I wish their menu was a bit more simplified, it's just jam packed with menu selections and menu selections , to the point where it can be stressful looking at it (as an indecisive person) read more

Being from California I must say I was not expecting the food to be as delicious as it was! I ordered the California burrito. Beans & rice perfectly cooked! Carne asada cooked great, it fell apart perfectly & was flavored really well! The salsa was good too! I only wish they served horchata, but the food definitely made up for it! The prices were more than affordable. The portions are big so be prepared to bring left overs home! Definitely will be back for more! read more

Delicious grilled tilapia prepared with spinach shrimp and mushrooms. The server suggest steamy vegetables. That is the menu name. They were zucchini and yellow squash cut in fat Matchsticks, steamed but served with buttery something and sprinkled with cheese. The meal was fabulous. Not low cal by any means I am sure less than many other menu choices. Every tasty bite was worth the minor splurge. I lunched alone on a Friday. Busy place prompt friendly service. We've been to a lot of Mexican restaurants, so we feel like we know a good one when we see one. This is a good one. Endless chips and salsa are a seemingly more rare find these days, and they're very good here! Fresh and flavorful salsa, and not your standard bag chips. Almost like the staff is on a mission to keep every table stocked up with it too! Great deal on margaritas--less than $5 and they're huge (not mostly ice either). Hubby got the pork burrito--great pork and it was covered in this awesome white queso. Sides were all very well done too. I got the tilapia Veracruz--extremely flavorful and delicious. Tilapia was grilled perfectly, covered in a delicious cream sauce with spinach, served with a side of very perfectly prepared veggies (made me feel not so bad about the numerous baskets of chips I took down...!). Service was so fantastic--all were very friendly, and the owner even made the rounds and joked around with us. Price is right too!! Great food, great service, great interior, and great music! The michelada was amazing, and the grilled tacos are authentic!

Everyone enjoyed there meal but me. I had the tamales and there was little to no pork in it, more like on it, it was not rolled in masa, but more like all masa. The white queso was good as was the guacamole. I would not order the tamales if I go back. read more

They took a run down, dirty diner and really cleaned the space up! Nice, clean decor with a great bar in the back. The food was delicious and very reasonably priced! El Molino has ruined every other mexican restaurant in existence for me. I have eaten here more times than I can count, and have never had a bad meal. Everything you order is cooked perfectly. You literally can't find anything bad to say about this place except, in a town of just 9400, it can get PACKED during mealtimes. But that's the price you pay when you're the best around. read more

Great food. Service can get a bit slow during the busiest hours, but don't let that stop you. This place is great! Food portions are great for the price. In that aspect it blows other places like Mexican Village out of the water. I typically stick to the basics like fajitas and quesadillas which are great. We had a great lunch at this restaurant. The staff were welcoming and very attentive. I had a carnitas fajitas with hot flour tortillas, and as other travelers from California said, this restaurant rivaled any in SOCAL. My dh had enchilada verdes with beans and rice. We pulled in for lunch off Hiway 14 headed East. Mankato seemed too soon, Waseca just right. Checked Yelp! and El Molino was #1. Now we know why. Terrific meal. Chili Rellenos is the Big Test. If a restaurant can do that right everything else can't help but be good and authentic. That proved to be true here. Wow! Do yourself a favor. We're from metro-DC and enjoy lots of Latin American options - Mexican, Honduran, Salvadoran, Peruvian. The chef in Waseca would do well in DC. read more

The Food was good and hot when delivered to your table. Service was great always watched your refills. The only downside was that the flour tortillas came wrapped in tin foil and were stuck together. I would rather see the tortillas in that plastic tortilla service tub with the cover. read more

El Molino has great food, and is a super fun place. It's the only restaurant in town that is busy every single night, and there's a reason for that. We go at least one time per week, and our beer is always ready for us without even ordering. Between El Molino and Las Brazas, these guys for sure have the market cornered in great food for all of the locals here. read more

Not a huge fan. Ordered the chicken fajitas. Smallest meat I have ever seen. It was like diced dried chicken jerky with green peppers that were in huge chunks, and some burnt onions. Not a tomato in sight, and way overcooked. No sizzling platter. Canned salsa. Husband got the chicken tacos and said they tasted like they came out of a can. Not the worst, but not the best.
