Looked up the reviews and it has 4.5 but honestly was so disappointed I had a quesadilla plate with a horchata came out to 18 with change. I did let the lady know the carne asada was made with a lot of fat and she said yeah it's mixed with it. Assuming meat is expensive so they do more fat and I HATE THAT part the most I was pretty disgusted. They didn't offer anything else even tho I've only eating half of one. I have never been disappointed by their rotisserie chicken special. We always get it with rice, beans and their killer potato salad! We love this family owned business. That's it, Mixteca doesn't get any more chances. We always have issues when going there. But this was the ultimate last straw. My family and I drove 40 mins from Orange County on Mother's Day to eat dinner there. I just wanted to keep it simple and not go to a fancy restaurant. Google says they close @7pm, yelp says they close @9pm. We got there @6pm and the door was locked. The lady came to the door and said they're closed (even though there were people still eating inside). We told her we were hoping to dine in but we were turned away. My family of 5 had no other choice but to get back in the car and take our money elsewhere. I was very disappointed that we took that long drive on Mother's Day just to be turned away during regular business hours. read more

We got complimentary fresh warm tortilla chips with spicy salsa, which I appreciated. The chicken was very tender and juicy, the salad was delicious. My Coworker got a taco which she devoured and we both got a flauta. Everything was delicious, the customer service is warm and attentive. I finally had a chance to have dinner here and it was well worth it! Lupe was wonderful and sweet to us! The chicken here is amazing!! Most def melts in your mouth with a hot and soft tortilla! This place is a hole in the wall. It's very old school. I'm always wondering why they don't post up the Letter Grade for health inspection. Are they hiding something?
