Mofongo garlic chicken

I had some great mofongo garlic chicken, and refreshing lemonade. The staff were courteous and helpful. The restaurant is brightly colored and inviting. I recommend you check it out.

El Merengue is a restaurant featuring online Spanish food ordering in Stroudsburg, PA. Browse Menus, or just order in the resturant and eat there. They have inside and a nice patio with bench seating for outside. Very nice place. You can see all the food behind a plexiglass , everything is fresh.

Absolutely the best Dominican food! Lucia was incredibly helpful, guiding us expertly through the menu with outstanding service. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, making it a fantastic dining experience.

Food is good. Very tasty. Very authentic. Portions are satisfying and moderately priced. Decor is also authentic. Walking thru the doors is like walking into a local mom and pop restaurant in DR. Service is good but there's room for improvement. Greeted when entering but then waited over 10 minutes for someone to come to the table and take order. Dined twice, not busy upon arrival but plenty of foot traffic for take out. Pork chop and rice and beans - devine! Pork chicharron mofongo - delish!

Good food, but overpriced and super long wait. It took more than an hour to get our food. The menus they have there were apparently outdated, so the pricing isn't what it is stated. We paid around 75$~ for the platter and a side order of oxtail rice. I did find the food pretty good, and would recommend to try it if you are in the neighborhood.

I was in the mood for spanish food and this restaurant had red snapper which is my favorite fish. I ordered the red snapper with rice and vegetables. When I arrived I parked nearby. They only have a few parking spaces at the restaurant. I walked in and told the very nice lady my name and the food wasn't yet done. I waited a few more minutes and paid and left with my meal. When I dug in the snapper was good and so was the rice and vegetables. The snapper had a lime taste because they used it in the seasoning, while a bit overpowering it was still good. All in all I had a good experience.

Disappointing. Well this is my first time having mofongo.. I know my Spanish is rusty but I ordered pork mofongo. and I thought it would be filled with meat but it's a mountain of dry plaintain with a few shreds of pork and not much seasoning or anything in it. The meat around it is so burnt, this is not pork, it's burnt ends or burnt pork belly, ugh not my favorite. I'm sorry to say that, I'm hungry and I wanted to love eating this but... the meat you gave me... it's a like overdone crispy pork belly but it's so overdone I can't bite through it! It's such a shame. This monfongo needs a sauce or a drizzle of something it's so dry, I almost choked twice! I ordered Maduros, ripe plantains, ehh okay, I didn't order tostones but it was in the bag by accident. I don't mean to complain, I want to like these but they are dry and flavorless. They need seasoning or a dip for them. The yucca fries are actually good, it would be great to have a chipotle aioli dip for them, otherwise they are very dry. The flan was, umm different than I've had before. Maybe a drizzle of caramel could make it look prettier. Not fabulous. All in all, sadly it was a miss for me, I love all kinds of Spanish foods. I wanted to try someplace new. But I'm mostly irritated for spending money on this dinner and can't even bite through this pork belly fatty meat, hardly any meat here, which is not the shredded pork I saw in the store, that was a disappointing mis communication. I will have to skip these three day old dead dry overcooked burnt pork ends, no thank you! It tastes like dead old meat. I can't even bite through it and It was dry, not tasty!

I love this Spanish restaurant, reminds me of authentic Dominican food with New York vibes. I added pics of the menu because I noticed I can't find it anywhere online but this place is amazing and sooooo gooooodd

Very good food, clean place. Very friendly folks. Had the Pernil, best I've had in the area. Crisp skin and tasted great. Glad we visited.

The food: I was in the area and was tired of the same food everywhere. Wife asked for latin and a few places came up. Since this one was on the way and only a 1 minute detour, it was the "chosen" one. Man, we were so glad to find this place. We ordered from the Family menu ITes, specifically #4. Chicharron de Pollo ( Chicken Crisps) with arroz con Habichuelas And Tostones. All was fresh except for the rice and beans obviously but delicious non the less. Their Mojo garlic sauce was too delicious not to lick my fingers while driving. ( please don't ticket me) The service was also on par. While not everyone speaks English, the ones that do try their best to make sure everyone understands each other. A family of 3 walked in and they sounded so "gringo" not in a bad way just in case but like they were just trying to figure out and dust off their basic Spanish. Y yo cause I'm fresh, i walked up to them and helped them out as if it was my place. On fridays they have Goat meat, so next time I'm in the area, i will make sure its on a weekend and visit the spot. Thank you for letting me try the last piece of Rabo you had left and for taking care of my family.
