Between the manager and staff there very disrespectful and dismissive. On top of that they got are food wrong twice. Go for the whatever, and you'll come back for the borracho beans, or charro beans, or whatever they're called. Everything was good. Service, food, etc. I was in town a couple days later and in a hurry so I got an order of these beans to go. They're next level good! I had chicken and steak fajita meat served on rice and covered in queso. It was fantastic. Not sure what it was called. The queso could have used a little something, green chiles maybe. The chips, while fresh, had a kind of off taste. Didn't matter. The rest made up for it. Will definitely make a point to return when I'm in the area. read more

Service was good. Ordered a combination plate. It was a lot of food. The taco was pretty plain. Plain ground beef and weak seasoning. Never seen a tamale with a green tinted husk. The tamale was very dry- Didn't eat it. Chips and queso are average. Pretty much picked around the rest of plate to find something good. The frijoles were ok. Place is a little dirty. Have had better, more authentic Mexican elsewhere. Not bad for the area. Decent value. However, service is weak area and their complimentary chips are often overcooked. Queso tends to congeal quickly. Avoid the tamales. read more

Passing through on business yesterday evening and first time to try El Maya. It appears to be family owned. We started with complementary chips and salsa and ordered the Chorizo Con Queso. It was so good. I order the Chilies Rellenos which consisted of 2 whole Anaheim peppers stuffed with white cheese, covered with egg white, & deep fried. Served with rice, beans and corn tortillas. I replaced the beans with charro beans. These beans were hands down the best I have had. My husband ordered the El Maya Sample Burrito, chile relleno, enchilada, & beef taco. Served with rice & beans. Both dishes were freshly made, hot and incredibly good. The management and wait staff were extremely attentive, our drinks stayed full and received anything we needed. I wish we lived closer because this would be a weekly experience for us. I'm thinking we will need to road trip at least once a month! Highly recommended. Been here several times first time posting a review. Great Mexican food in Fairview. Parking lot is small so plan a little before lunch rush or just after. Cuz its packed which is a good thing. Great food awsome service. Restrooms clean. They also move the booths and chairs after each customer and clean. First time here with the family but I will take pics next time. I like El Maya I think the food they have there is very good and the waitresses are very nice.

First time here, and it is Cinco de Mayo. Where else to have good beer and Mexican food! We were quite surprised how good the food and service was. Fairfield is a small town with few places to eat. I had the Northwest Special which was excellent. My husband ordered the Molcajete, which was served in a stone pot, and he said it was very good. Both our plates came out very hot! We both ate chips and salsa which was good as well. Our beers (Corona bottle) were served with icy mugs rimmed with salt. The servers were friendly and attentive. Food was excellent as was service. We went to see the Alabaster Caverns and on our way home stopped by Gloss Mountain State park which is May 10-15 minutes from Fairview. We weren't sure where to stop and had limited options so we took a chance at El Maya. I ended up ordering the El Maya Chimichanga and it was very good. We had order a side of queso as well and were offered as many tortilla chips as our hearts desired as well as complimentary salsa. The environment was nice and the wait staff were prompt and courteous. My husband an order of nachos (can't remember the name) and they looked delicious with him destroying them within 5 minutes. Suffice to say that he loved them. If you are in the area or just stopping by like we were I would definitely make a pit stop on the way home at El Maya. read more

This building has had a major remodel and El Maya has opened a Mexican restaurant. The place is nice, clean, and well appointed. The menu is huge, service was great, and the food is good. For our first meal here, we ordered standard Mexican fare - enchiladas, relleno, burrito, taco. All were very tasty although they could have been a little hotter, temperature wise. The salsa was good as were the bean and rice sides. A good meal at a reasonable price. read more

SO we have been to this spot a couple times, typically after my boys games and have always been impressed. Every time I come I have wanted to try the molcajete, it looks so amazing...SO I finally did!!! We chose the one with beef, chicken, steak and chorizo sausage talk about huge portions and super fun presentation, comes out in a steaming hot clay pot that's over filled with spices meats, onions and bell peppers!! Chips and salsa are pretty standard and fresh guacamole was good, just kind of a small portion for the price. Also we ordered the ceviche we Cameron (shrimp tostada, marinated in lemon juice) I love how they chop up the shrimp fine and top with fresh avacodo, delicouse!!! My son tried the tamales with cheese sauce and he was happy, I'm a tough critic on tamales.....as I grew up with them homemade so I havnt found one to date at a restaurant that compares!! The service is great. However, that was all that was good. Very small portions and the food had not taste. It was pretty bad.

Ate lunch there Sunday and we were very impressed. The two of us split a Molcajete and, with the complimentary chips, we were both stuffed when we left. Service was quick, food came out fast and we talked about how good it was the rest of the day. The building appears newly remodeled and everything, including the rest rooms, was very clean. The waitresses were friendly and were working very hard. People were hardly out the door and the tables were cleaned and ready for the next diners. It isn't very big, but had tables set up for larger groups. If you are visiting Canton Lake or just out for a drive in the Fairview area, give it a try!! read more

Eh. Got fajitas. Beef was dry and chewy. Chorizo was good though. Didn't get a refill throughout my entire meal and sat there for 10 minutes after finishing before someone came back to check on me. I was obviously done and still had to flag down the waitress for my check. Some of the other food looked good so maybe I'll have to come back and try something else. There isn't a ton of choices here anyway. read more
