I am a regular at Lola's. They have a wide variety of Mexican food plus options for when you want something else. The people are friendly and the owner checks on tables. The carne asada tacos are my favorite right now, but my favorite changes. The building is older and could use some update but it is a good small town option. read more

Excellent food. Probably four or five times a year, we will drive the 120 miles to get some of the best Mexican food in the region. Fresh, hot, tasty and reasonably priced. Had several different burritos and they all are good. Great family owned and operated restaurant. Don't let the location fool you. I stopped by on a Saturday around 3:00pm. I was a little worried because there was only one car in front. But that changed later when a group of ten showed. I was treated very well. I ordered their steak and shrimp. I don't know how it was prepared, but it was the best tasting ribeye I've had in a long time. The size was larger than I expected. The shrimp were huge too! Only thing that some might not like is there was no music. As for me, I couldn't care less. I don't come through Cherokee very often, but I'll definitely take time to stop by here again. read more

This may seem a bit biased but I judge Mexican restaurants based solely on their chili rellenos. I must say I was greatly surprised that these past my taste test. This is a great place to eat in Cherokee! Everything that my sister and brother-in-law had looked excellent as well. read more

We're visiting from Montana and after a day of digging selenite crystals we were hungry and Lola's did not disappoint. I had the fajitas and Chile relleno and they were delicious. My husband had a combination meal and he loved everything. Chips and salsa were very good. Waitress was friendly and she really moves! We will be back for more. My husband, son and myself went to Lola's for the first-time last night. We aren't often in Cherokee in the evening and Mexican cuisine sounded good. The first impression was positive. The place looked clean and brightly decorated with a multitude of colors. We were told to sit wherever we wanted. This was at 5:20 in the evening and only two tables were filled. We chose a booth near the middle of the restaurant. The booths were cute and colorful. The seats were a little thinly padded but not a real issue for us. Before I address the real issue with this establishment, let me talk about the food itself. The portions were good. The taste was ok, nothing spectacular but not bad either. My son ordered the Chili Rojo with a Chili relleno on the side. He stated his food was a bit bland but ok. I ordered chicken fajitas (my safe go to because it is hard to mess up fajitas). It was a good size portion and the taste was ok. The chicken was presented in small bites but not shredded. This is was perfect. My son and I both had those little foil wrapped packages of flour tortillas. There were three in each which seems to be common in these types of places. I went to make my first fajita and when I tried to roll it up, the tortilla literally cracked. They were dry and stale. The only time I have seen tortillas this stale was when I left some open in the refrigerator (unwrapped) for several days. When I tried to use them, they were like crackers - all dried up and brittle. My son's tortillas were in the same condition. My husband cancelled his order which leads to the reason that this was the worst dining experience I have had in at least 20 years. A middle-aged Caucasian lady (I wish I had got her name) took our order. I want to point out that this was at 5:30 in the evening and the place almost empty. I ordered first. Husband ordered second. He ordered Don's sample plate. Waitress informed him they were out of tamales and what would he like instead. He ordered two rellenos instead of the one that came with it. Now, I usually don't pay close attention to the ordering, but this time it caught my attention. Waitress asked if he wanted red sauce or (and here my mind clicked in attention because I was expecting her to say green sauce but she says) cheese sauce. One reason I noted the conversation was because it wasn't as I expected. The other reason is I knew my son was ordering a relleno on the side. We usually order an extra cup of queso for him to pour over his relleno at other establishments. Since the queso was almost the same cost as an entrée, I recall thinking "Well good. That solves that issue." My husband orders the cheese sauce because he really dislikes red sauce. My son orders next and I remember thinking how odd that the waitress didn't ask him what sauce he wanted. After waiting what seemed to be a bit too long for our food, a new waitress comes bringing my husband's and my plate. The first thing I notice is that his rellenos are smothered in red sauce. She walks away before we can say anything and promptly returns with my son's side dish of a chili relleno (covered with cheese sauce by the way). The husband and I both start to speak at the same time. The new waitress, I must add that she was friendly and professional the entire time and we have no issue with her, looks at me and I state to solve the husband's issue first and then we will address the other (that being they didn't bring the son's entrée and just his extra side). My husband, who is the most easy-going person I know, says I am sorry but I ordered cheese sauce. The original waitress happens to be passing by and loudly exclaims in a VERY nasty tone "That's what he ordered!" OK let me pull up the soapbox here. We work hard and if we choose to spend that hard-earned money at your establishment, I want the courtesy and respect that it deserves. I don't expect special treatment or a life changing experience, but I demand courtesy. I cut in and repeated the entire conversation. At this point, the other waitress is playing damage control and asks if he would like them to pour cheese sauce on the existing rellenos. He states that no, he doesn't like red sauce. Will they please remake it? The first waitress cuts in once again and claims "You know, he didn't even specify which he wanted." The new waitress apologizes and takes away the plate and returns with my son's entrée. Now the first waitress returns to say "They have to throw that away now that you refused it and we are all out of rellenos (it's only 6:00 pm at this time) so what do you want instead?" very rudely and hateful. The husband says "Cancel my order." My son and I ended up getting to go boxes and took our food home where we had fresh, soft tortillas. We did verify that we didn't pay for the cancelled meal and left no tip due the extremely poor service. This was the worst experience I can remember in ages and we will not be returning. read more

This is possibly the best Mexican food place in all of Oklahoma. I've been to tulsa, okc, el reno, elk city, Woodward, Lawton and well Lawton is close second. This place in Cherokee is the best I've had since San Diego California. You gotta try this place. Fajitas are the bomb. read more

$10 dollars for a small queso and chips! rip off! oh and my drinks were only water. Everyone I know will NOT be coming back. when I first came in there was no one even out I had to go find someone in the kitchen. horrible customer service and overpriced for plain food. 0 out of 10.
