I ate the chorizo tacos, and it was amazing. The sausages were cubed, which made it a bit rough to swallow, but it was good nonetheless. The waiter we had checked on our table constantly and made sure we weren't missing anything. I had gotten a stain on my clothes and he showed me the bathroom to get myself cleaned up. I've been here three times now and it is my favorite restaurant in Hazleton whether Mexican or otherwise. The staff is on the ball and friendly and the food is fantastic. My first time here I ordered the Caldo de Mariscos (seafood soup) and it was one of the better ones I've had in NEPA. Delicious mussels, perfectly cooked shrimp, bay scallops and a delicious filet of fish in a tasty broth. The next time I had Red Enchiladas with Chicken. I loved the sauce and the rice and beans were fantastic. Comes with warm tortillas. Yesterday, I had the Bistec a la Mexicana which is basically a very thin cut of rib eye steak with sautéed onions, tomatoes, and jalapeños. This also comes with warm tortillas. It was good but my least favorite of the dishes I've had at this restaurant. Definitely a great place for good, authentic Mexican cuisine. read more

Great food! Excellent waitress/service! It's hard to find good authentic Mexican food in this part of Pennsylvania, but El Mariachi was my saving grace. Was it the best tacos I've ever had... definitely not! However, I was craving something authentic and this definitely quenched that craving. We were first greeted with double thickness tortilla chips and wonderful salsa. Then we ordered a side of guacamole for the chips and was blown away by how amazing the guacamole was. It had the right amount of lime and salt. Then we ordered a carne asada taco and an al pastor taco with crema, cilantro & onions, cheese, and avocado. It came with a milder salsa verde and a "spicier" salsa roja. I love extremely spicy food so the sauce was a bit too mild for my liking. The carne asada taco was good enough to make me keep going back to the restaurant however the flavor could be a bit more bold. The al pastor taco was quite delicious as it included fresh pineapple and well seasoned pork. We also ordered a pablano mole. It was Quite good. Overall 4.6/5.0 read more

If you don't carry cash know that their credit card machine is out of order. Not sure for how long. The food is good but the prices have gone up so high. Blame inflation I guess. We had to wait for a few minutes to be seated as there was no one by the desk when we came in. We had to wait again for our orders to be taken. read more

I along with my girlfriend and family have been going here for years. I remember when they had the smaller restaurant that was always packed! Restaurant is bigger now so there's no worry about seating space. Food was always amazing and authentic. Never had an issue with staff. Always made sure we were taken care of. Setting is nice to. This is a out of place restaurant in residential area. It looks to be in an old church. I ordered the Carnitas Burrito, my wife the green chicken enchiladas and my 3 year old got the chicken quesadilla. I thought the burrito was amazing, the sauces are fantastic. My wife who is from New Mexico said this is one of the closest to back home she has had on the east coast. My daughter devoured the rice, and chicken quesadilla. If we are ever in the area again I would make it a point to go here. read more

I have been going here for a few yrs. Food was good . Lately the quality is bad this is unexcepable. We ordered the chicken enchiladas the chicken was so dry it was like jerky. Staff was ignorant. Great family owned and operated restaurant that remembers you every time you patron the place. The big burritos are just huge and delicious! I honestly have to give it 1 star. The chips and salsa were good but that is where anything good with this place ends. Our waitress took out drink order and brought them out to us and then came back and took our food order. But she did not come back and ask how everything was or if we needed anything else. We watched the waitress, waiter and host sit there and play a game while we waited for anything.....more water, more chips and salsa, an update on our food order. Nothing. It was terrible service and after waiting 35 to 40 minutes for our food and no service we left. Another couple came in after us and got their food. We did not order anything special so I have know idea what was taking so long or if our waitress even put in our order. I had high hopes for this place but we will not be going back. First time ordering from this place and it was the worst experience Ever in hazelton. You get better service on those food trucks than here. I placed an order for $50 + of food in the January 17 th snow storm. When I got there I was told I didn't place an order there. Then after going back in and repeating what my order was to the different people they finally gave me a bag to go. I get all the way back home and food was missing no apology no credit back on my card for going through the inconvenience of coming back out in the storm through their fault. Just horrible and very unprofessional to then hand me my bad of missing food without as much as one word. Not to mention the portions weren't even worth that money...
