The chicken here is unfortunately dry and not seasoned too well. The best part was probably the beans and rice. I still think of the aijiaco too which it was just too hot for me to order on a scorching August day. (Colombian chicken stew). I'll probably be back in the winter for that Aijiaco, but the chicken we will pass. Service was okay this time, and ambiance is quite nice in here.

Loaded with meats and topping such a good appetizer for sharing! The bandeja paisa was good but I wish the meats were a bit more flavorful. The flan wasn't bad but it did not need the added sprinkles. The fresh juices are amazing I really enjoyed the mango and would definitely order this again! Overall not a bad experience I just enjoy the unique modern dishes that LCPX cafe offers more than what's offered here. I went with two other people and we shared the app and main entree and still had leftover food so the portions are HUGE!

No fancy décor, no overdone plating--just honest, soul-warming food the way abuelita would make it. Each bite was loaded with flavor, and they didn't skimp on the fillings either (respectfully, some of y'all out there are serving tortillas with trust issues). The curtido came bagged up and packed with crunch and tang--exactly what you need to cut through that melted cheese goodness. Prices are humble, portions are generous, and while it may be a small spot, the flavors are huge. I ordered a whole rotisserie chicken to go. I think in all, it was about $16 - $17. It was about half the cost of a whole chicken I had bought a few days earlier that was cooked over coals. So, in price comparison, this was better. But, for the price, you are only getting a whole chicken with no sides or drinks. It came with two sauces on the side. The chicken was moist and had good flavor, about what you would expect from a rotisserie chicken. The sauces were ok, but nothing I was wild about. Overall, I would go here again. While the style of the cook was Peruvian, I didn't taste anything different/unique about the chicken except for the sauces, which were merely ok. If you live closer to a big box store and regularly eat rotisserie chicken , I'd go and get their rotisserie chicken as that is roughly 1/3 of the cost of this.

I was greeted immediately and sat in a table near the entrance. I could have done an alcoholic drink, but I decided to go easy and take the passion fruit juice with milk (5.50) instead. It had a light flavor, but still pretty good. It was a bit too heavy with the milk. Almost like a smoothy. For my entree, I took the grilled shrimp with rice and vegetables as my sides (20 dollars). For the price, the portions were quite generous. 12 pieces of small grilled shrimp with a large amount of rice and ample amount of veggies. The shrimp was sadly a little overdone as it got a bit rubbery and hard to take out from the skewer. But it was flavored nicely. The vegetables were more enjoyable as it was steamed and seasoned nicely. The rice was fine. Since there was a good amount of food, I took some back to my hotel room. I skipped dessert as I was getting too full. The service was good and friendly. It seemed to be a family restaurant as there looked to be just 3 servers and maybe a chef or two in the kitchen. The dining area is pretty small and can get cramped, but there was a live singer singing Spanish Latin songs and getting the crowd energized. Outdoor seating is available as well. Bathroom was outside and you need a key to get in. Unfortunately, the cow at the entrance was a not safe to mount, but the mini donkey next to it didn't mind a silly cowboy to sit on it for a quick photo op. For the price paid, Monseratte offers decent food and generous portion for the price. It is very casual and quite small, but if you go at the right time, you can enjoy some live music as well. I will visit them again maybe for lunch next time I am in the Tampa area. Overall: B

Skipped the sit-down cafeteria side and grabbed the counter seating instead, which had a fun bar-style setup. Service was fast -- they got our water order in immediately, and we followed up with a large café con leche. Plenty of coffee for the price, though the red plastic cup was a letdown compared to a proper mug. Food came out in under five minutes, which is impressive for how good it was. I got the Milanesa -- a breaded steak in red sauce -- with yellow rice and black beans on the side, and it was excellent for the price. My wife had the Ropa Vieja with yucca and Moros rice, and it didn't disappoint: tender, soft beef with rich tomato sauce and just a hint of olive coming through. We also added a side of tostones with their garlic sauce, which were absolutely delicious. For a quick stop before the mall, this exceeded expectations -- great flavor, fast service, and solid prices. Would go back even without the mall as an excuse.
